This movie... I don't even know. It’s completely unremarkable. You aren't gaining much by watching it, yet you aren't losing much by skipping it either. It's just a flat, linear experience lacking any real narrative peak or climax. It simply drifts from point A to point B. Based on the trailers, I was expecting some grand, epic spectacle, but what we actually got felt more like a mid-budget indie flick. Honestly, if they had just embraced that smaller scale from the start, it might have actually worked better. The intro is far too rushed—completely unnecessary for the actual plot; the whole thing could have just kicked off mid-meteor shower for all the good it does. And the female lead? Her characterization is frustratingly nonsensical. If you're fighting for your very survival, stopping to rescue some dinosaur baby from a swamp isn't "brave," it's just irrational. As for the dinosaurs themselves, they lack any sense of urgency or instinct. They just sort of exist—they don't hunt, they don't eat, they just pause for dramatic effect before potentially becoming lunch. The pacing is erratic; sometimes things happen, sometimes nothing happens at all. Still, I managed to sit through it, mostly because it didn't overstay its welcome.
People keep comparing this to other films, and while I see the connection, it reminds me way more of a much superior independent sci-fi film: Prospect from 2019. That project actually grew out of a short amateur film—I believe you can still find the original on YouTube.
