Thanks for understanding, yeah, it really feels like those kinds of days just happen sometimes
I honestly can't wrap my head around why they hit or how they pass by so fast🙂 but man, they can be brutal😢(

I think you made the right call—injections are a much better route than surgery. Surgery is permanent and comes with its own set of downsides, plus the results don't always stick long-term. I've known people who went that route, and there were plenty of discussions about it online back in the day; I could always find the info if I needed it.

It sounds like you're on the right track, and I love how determined you are! Whether it takes a little more time or less, you'll get to your goal, and that’s the only thing that matters!🙂 Now it's all about staying steady and keeping that focus!🙂))

Amy Kim25 said:What kind of breakfast should I have if I don't want oatmeal or sandwiches? I'm totally out of ideas...

Try almond mash on a thin slice of rye bread! It’s basically crushed almonds mixed with sunflower seeds, drizzled with two tablespoons of green tea and a little teaspoon of apricot jam! Serve that on the rye toast along with a warm cup of green tea...

That sounds lovely, I absolutely loved having something similar during my WeightWatchers program...😉

In the program, I was given three different breakfast options, but I ended up just sticking to this one 😁, which turned out to be absolutely delicious...
Just mix everything together in a small bowl and spread it onto your toast, almost like you would with peanut butter or some other kind of tasty spread

I just finished all my lab work and I'm currently waiting on the results. Honestly, right now? I feel like I’m in peak physical condition! :-) It turns out that insulin resistance they were so convinced I had during my checkup might not even be an issue. Looks like it's back to focusing on my diet! 🙂

I figured I should check in and share my progress. I started on Wegovy this past Tuesday. My goal is to drop about 22 pounds, and so far, the only real side effect I’m dealing with is some nausea. To be perfectly honest, my appetite has definitely vanished... I just don't feel hungry anymore. I can't tell if that's the medication or if it's because of the Chromium Picolinate I've been taking alongside it. I haven't stepped on the scale yet, but I'll let you all know once I do. Currently on a 0.6 dose.

hey Nicholas White80, good luck with the Wegovy haha! How are you feeling, how’s everything going?

Amy Kim25, how did your labs turn out? I actually got diagnosed with insulin resistance through an OGTT, though I honestly feel like just having a high BMI should be enough to get a prescription for Wegovy. I'm not 100% sure, but I think that's how it works.

It's moving along, thanks for asking. Down two pounds in a week. I'm being careful with what I eat; I don't feel hungry during the day, but I tend to get hit with cravings in the evening. I bumped my dose up to 1.2. Had a bit of a headache... some morning nausea too.
Overall, I'm happy so far. I do have Hashimoto's and hypothyroidism, though...

hey George, thanks for getting back to me. My test results haven't arrived yet, but they did run an OGTT on me, so hopefully that gives us some clarity on the next steps!

What do you think is the absolute key to making this work?

I’m honestly pretty nervous about the nausea. Whenever I feel sick to my stomach, my instinct is to eat twice as much just to try and "settle" it, so if these shots cause that kind of cycle, I don't know if I can handle it. I'm thinking about starting with Metformin tablets first and then switching to the injections down the road. I'll run it by my doctor and see what they suggest.

By the way, I read somewhere that nausea happens because you ate way too much during a meal. George, do you think there's any truth to that?

From my own experience, though, nausea usually hits me when I eat something too fatty, but that's mostly due to my gallbladder issues.

Hey everyone. I’ve been on Wegovy since March 1st, which puts me at about 12 weeks now. I bumped up to the 3.0 dose back on April 15th, and honestly, I haven’t moved the needle an ounce since then. I’m sitting here wondering if I should consider a reset—I know some people claim the medication loses its punch after the initial phase—but personally, I feel like I don't have any more weight to shed. Does anyone have any advice or thoughts on this? Thanks.

Maybe try adjusting your diet to see if that helps. You might be overdoing it. Perhaps aim for around 1,600 calories a day?

I’m hovering right around 1,400, meticulously tracking every single calorie, yet nothing seems to be moving the needle.

I just don't experience that sense of being "suddenly full" or feeling like I've hit a wall. If I weren't keeping a close eye on things, I could probably keep eating until the day after tomorrow; it’s almost as if I’m not even on Wegovy, despite the fact that I still have about 65 pounds to lose. 😢

I don't think you should be waiting for some "magic moment" to happen. Personally, I’m not a believer in luck—it’s all about the grind. Just hang in there for a bit longer; from everything I’ve read online, most people see that major weight drop kick in right around the three-month mark. Try to stay patient and just keep pushing.

Hi everyone! I'm new here ☺️ I am so happy I stumbled upon this thread because I have a few questions, and it looks like we’re all facing pretty much the same struggles. Following my doctor's recommendation, I started taking Ozempic 0.5 once a week about 15 days ago. To be clear, the reason I'm doing this is to tackle excess weight, specifically concentrated around my midsection. After the very first dose, I felt fine on day one, but then the side effects kicked in. I've dealt with mild nausea, occasional weakness, and some bouts of blurred vision. I've even had a dry throat and trouble swallowing at times. I read the manual and saw all of this listed as potential side effects, but I want to hear from you—how did you actually feel? I've finished two doses now. My appetite has definitely decreased and I'm watching my diet closely, but these side effects are seriously getting in my way. Are they just temporary? How long does it take for the body to adjust? My doctor thinks this is just the adjustment period and tells me to push through, but honestly, I'm right on the edge of giving up.
Thanks in advance for any advice or experiences you can share with me.

Greetings.
I am also a newcomer to this whole ordeal, so there are a few things I'm trying to wrap my head around... I’ve been on Wegovy for five and a half weeks now. Based on my doctor's advice, if I started experiencing nausea, I was supposed to stick with the starting dose for an extra week. Everything seemed fine initially—until yesterday. Then came the nausea, the vomiting, the diarrhea... the whole unpleasant trifecta. I contacted my physician immediately, and her assessment was that this sounds more like a stomach flu than anything else. Her instruction? Stop taking the medication until I feel better, then restart at the lower dose once the symptoms subside.
The situation escalated last night; I felt so wretched that I ended up calling emergency services. They suggested it could very well be a side effect of the Wegovy and told me to come in so they could administer something to settle my stomach—mostly because I was losing fluids far too quickly. So, there I was, heading to the ER in the middle of the night, only to be sent straight back home. Apparently, there wasn't enough "need" to justify it. I was told I’d just have to endure the wait for someone to confirm it’s just a virus and that it will eventually pass. Today, the second morning after the episode, I’m feeling a bit better for the time being. To be honest, I've developed such a grudge against Wegovy that I'm hesitant to continue, though I can't deny its effectiveness—I've already lost about 15 pounds. It just so happens that I just purchased a new box, but since I haven't opened it yet, I'm wondering if I can return it for a refund.

You ladies are wonderful...

Hey, look, it sounds like you had a really rough time with it, but don't let one bad experience shake your confidence. Maybe just try starting over with a lower dose? Losing seven pounds is no small feat—if I were in your shoes, I’d definitely keep going once things settle down a bit!

You probably won't be able to return the medication, but if you're truly done, maybe try selling it. You could see if anyone reaches out through a forum or try posting it on Facebook Marketplace somewhere...

I’m honestly pretty terrified of the nausea, because whenever I feel sick, my go-to move is to eat twice as much just to try and "settle" my stomach, so if these shots trigger that cycle, it’s a total dealbreaker for me. I'm actually thinking about starting out with Metformin tablets first and then maybe transitioning to the injections down the road, so I’ll definitely run that by my doctor and see what they have to say about it.

By the way, I read somewhere that feeling nauseous actually means you ate way too much during a meal and that's why it happens. hey George, do you think there's any truth to that?

From what I've dealt with personally, nausea usually hits me when I eat something super greasy, but that's mostly because of my gallbladder issues.

Honestly, I'm not sure what the magic ingredient is, but I guess it's the usual suspects—just pure grit and staying the course. It's basically about not snacking on junk and trying to stay active, which sounds way easier said than done, right?

As for the nausea, I can only really speak from what I've gone through myself. I'd get hit with it in the middle of the night while sleeping, before meals, after meals, or sometimes just totally out of nowhere during the day. I didn't notice any specific pattern at all, though it definitely happened more often for a few days right after I bumped up my dose. For me, the nausea wasn't like, life-altering or anything, and it didn't last forever—usually just about thirty minutes or so.

It totally makes sense that you could feel sick if you overdo it on the food, so I definitely think that's possible.
To be real, I've never heard of anyone being able to eat double portions while they're feeling sick; personally, the thought of food doesn't even cross my mind when I'm feeling that way. 🤔 But hey, we're all built differently, obviously. Maybe try to hold off on eating when you're feeling under the weather, I don't know.

BTW, good luck to all the new faces joining us! You guys got this! 🎉

Hey everyone,
So, here's another one joining the Saxenda club. I’m officially kicking things off tomorrow... and let me tell you, I've got quite a mountain to climb weight-wise. Between dealing with PCOS and just starting to see the early signs of Hashimoto's—it's a whole thing—my endocrinologist basically told me we have to tackle the extra pounds before we can even think about managing the rest... so, here we are.
I'll be sure to check back in with updates as I go.... thanks to everyone for all the advice and for sharing what you're going through.
