Casey Bennett said:There shouldn't be any ambiguity here; posting on mobile, going off-topic, or diving into politics are three entirely different things, and politics carries the strictest rules on this forum for good reason.
Furthermore, we have to remember that moderators are actual human beings, not programmed machines following a rigid script; they naturally react differently depending on the individual—whether it's a regular user who slips up once in a blue moon or someone who is a habitual offender.
That is the blunt reality of it.
edit. You tacked that last paragraph onto your post after I had already finished, so I didn't quote or address it directly, even though my response covers the substance regardless of what else you might decide to add later.😁
You are acting quite sanctimonious... slipping in those subliminal messages. In my actual life, I have held far greater authority than you possess in this digital space, yet I never abused it. You are measuring things according to your own yardstick, as you stated. However, one must know how to measure properly... the yardstick remains the same; the issue lies solely in the breadth of the area being measured. That is where your stance begins to falter.
This indicates that you are self-aware. You realize exactly what you might be lacking...
It is entirely understandable that moderators must endure all manner of attacks, but I have almost never attacked anyone or used foul language myself—even when faced with much more vitriolic statements from my opponents. Please, do not bring up that little 🤦 icon; I find it unappealing. I have received completely nonsensical bans that could have been justified by a wide interpretation of the rules, while much harsher insults from others were deleted without any reaction, or even left standing within your own jurisdiction. I will not dwell on the absurdity of such statements or the perceived ignorance of the moderators; if you believe otherwise, the logs still exist, and I could momentarily prove any point of contention or contradiction.
Forgive the rambling, but it is part of my interpretation of the rules... specifically regarding that "gray area" mentioned previously.
In short, one should examine where the contradictions lie, even if you aren't strictly obligated to do so. Such minor adjustments lead to progress in the real world as well. And you intend to lecture Larry Walker24, do you? I suppose that is the goal of a forum, or at least it ought to be.
