Why can't we request a permanent ban?

Like the title says, why?

because there’s absolutely nothing in the rules saying you have to provide it

you could end up getting banned for two years

or

just log off and call it a day

It’s pretty much a given at this point. If you manage to throw enough of an insult at the admin, you can basically request a ban immediately and you'll get it.
