So, what's the move when your ISP misses that 30-day legal window to actually get your home internet running? Like, am I entitled to any kind of compensation, and should I be bothering the provider directly or taking it to the FCC or some other regulatory agency instead...?

"If a service provider fails to meet their contractual obligations—essentially, if they aren't delivering the service exactly as outlined in their terms and conditions—you technically have the right to terminate your subscription agreement without being hit by any cancellation fees, though you'll still be responsible for any outstanding balances for services already rendered. However, I suppose if the provider hasn't sent you an official written notice stating they are unable to fulfill their end of the deal, it might be wise to refrain from unilaterally terminating the contract. Instead, it might be more prudent to file a formal written complaint or a dispute resolution request."

Just walk into the store, drop the entire package right on the floor, and tell the clerk to call his manager immediately. Tell him you aren't moving an inch until he picks up that phone. If there happen to be any other customers hanging around, just tell them to clear out so you can deal with this☕
