Kid's doing great. Though one good run doesn't exactly make it spring, maybe this season isn't as dead in the water as it felt back in Austin.

Charles Leclerc was incredible 👍
The kid is a total win for Ferrari.
Ferrari's usual strategic insanity 😁
Those pass masters sending their driver into Q2 a lap after everyone else while the rest of the field crawls around the track 🤦 somehow worked out fine this time...
Vettel blew it, but honestly, it was pretty mature of him to nail that one calm lap in Q3. If he hadn't, he would've been starting from the edge of the grid instead of fighting for his life in the final session...
At least he kept his cool...
The big question is what happens tomorrow. Red Bull had way better race pace and took much better care of their tires... Mercedes was just slightly behind them, but Ferrari? They were absolutely desperate when it came to tire management 🤦
we'll see how it all plays out...

we'll just have to see how it all shakes out...
Where on earth did you get that from?

It’s coming: "Max Verstappen is, and always will be, an idiot—it's just a fact!" — Leclerc 2019. xD

FP2...
Red Bull is tearing it up right now, and their tire management is leagues ahead of everyone else...
Max pulled off a 19-lap stint on softs while keeping his pace insanely consistent. Same kid on the mediums—he’s easily the fastest guy out there without even breaking a sweat....
The Mečka, aka Bottas, is trailing him by about two tenths, but those tires are shot after just 12 laps or so.
Meanwhile, Ferrari’s tires are falling apart after only 4 or 5 laps, and it’s happening to both cars. 🤦Sure, they had a faster out-lap than Max, but by lap 3, they were already slower than the STR, and Red Bull was just untouchable...
It's pretty obvious Ferrari went all-in on qualifying prep and nothing else.

Honestly, it’s just that the Red Bull chassis is in total chaos when it comes to raw pace. I watched Ferrari blow past them three times in just five laps. XD

it just isn't fair—we were all bumping into each other and then I just spun out. totally unfair. 🙂

I’ve been thinking about tomorrow, and I honestly think Ferkan might struggle to get a decent launch off the line. The real question is whether they can even clear the pit lane before Red Bull pulls out of the garage in all that fog. 😁

XD malo Morgen...
In that first lap, Max was only about 0.2-0.3 seconds behind Ferrari, then he was 0.4 faster in the second, and by the third, he was a full second ahead...
That’s why Max’s lap times stayed steady or even gained a few tenths, while Ferrari keeps dropping half a second or more per lap. By lap 5 or 6, they're completely screwed and falling behind STR, McLaren, Haas, and Renault...🤦
It shouldn't be a shock that RB isn't on Ferrari's level during qualifying. They usually dominate in the race anyway, and this season that gap is only going to get wider.
Honda is clearly killing it—you could see it most in the STR's race pace...
Red Bull doesn't have a speed problem; they have a tire warming problem.
That’s exactly why they struggle in a single lap, but they rip it during the race because they can manage their tires way better.

Red Bull Racing's chassis still draws about 80% of its design philosophy from Renault—even they’ve admitted as much, so there you have it. 😬
#35 ·
It’ll be wild if Kevin Magnussen manages to nail that first corner, or if he just ends up stuck behind a Mercedes for five laps straight. XD Meanwhile, a Ferrari might just blast right past everyone. Anything could happen tomorrow.

Likely a penalty for Magnussen.

Kevin Magnussen could really stir things up at Turn 1 tomorrow. He’s consistently faster than Romain Grosjean, but he’s just as unpredictable. xD It could get pretty intense if he decides to dive down an inside line or just forces his way past. xD
Edit:
+ And obviously, you've got Bottas and Lewis Hamilton leading the charge; there's no way Lewis is just going to hand over a position that easily. That's assuming Ferkan doesn't pull a sudden exit from Mercedes, leaving Red Bull Racing stuck trailing behind them for a while. 😉

Not that. I think he’ll end up with a grid penalty for blocking Lando Norris during the First Qualifying Session.

Jason Newman said:Actually, I don't think that's it. I'm leaning towards him getting a grid penalty because he blocked Lando Norris during the First Qualifying Session.
I'm pretty sure that was Romain Grosjean, not Kevin.

Sebastian Vettel talks way too much; he’s just spinning his wheels and wasting everyone's time!!!
