I have to say, I am absolutely floored by the responses I’ve been getting after I complained about a whole string of forum rule violations.
The thread was shut down so fast I didn't even get a chance to reply, so I'm forced to write this out here, which probably just lands me in an even deeper hole, doesn't it?
I’ve kept a neat little paper trail of the harassment, the trolling (hey, they actually admitted to trolling!), and the blatant double standards regarding who gets banned and who doesn't.
So, there really isn't any room for debate here. My Colleague is responding exclusively to me—that's straight-up harassment. Then my Colleague admits his whole goal was to derail the topic—so that's trolling. On top of that, I posted links to my own posts that got flagged, while others get a free pass for doing the exact same thing.
It is indisputable that a series of forum rules were broken. And yet, it’s being totally tolerated!
Then there's John Doe’s response, claiming that because I’m only posting in the Bridge thread, I don't have any right to complain about being targeted. Isn't that just wild? Sure, I'm participating in the thread, but I'm not hunting down one specific person or only replying to their comments. To try and equate those two things is just mixing apples and oranges. It's honestly pretty sad.
I also went ahead and offered to have the alleged bribery investigated—offering money to ALL forum members—but I made it crystal clear that I was being sarcastic. Everyone knows that, including you, Chuck. But instead of acknowledging the irony, Chuck just cynically repeated my sarcastic remark back to me as if it were some kind of confession of guilt.
Was it really such a big deal to ask my Colleague—since we have conflicting stories regarding a very serious accusation—to prove who is lying and who is telling the truth? rapidfox26, why don't you go ahead and show us those PPE items that granitetinker6 supposedly sent you? If you can't, then maybe stop slandering people.
Is that really too much to ask!? Of course not, not if someone actually wants to be objective and clear the air.
The other option—doing nothing to clear anything up—is exactly what Chuck did. He just leaned back on that "confession" that was clearly meant as irony! 🤦
I’m asking for someone above Chuck to weigh in on this, if such a possibility even exists.
If it doesn't, or if you consider this matter closed, then I’ll just say goodbye to you all. This is a private forum; the rules and editorial policy belong to the owners, and I'm not disputing that. But it is my right to refuse to be subject to someone else's whims, double standards, and obvious bias.
I mean, we could all just play dumb now and say the classic line, "Oh, there's no bias here, all moderators are equal and nobody gets special treatment," blah, blah, blah... Unfortunately, some people have shown they operate at the same low, sneaky levels they use to lecture politicians, the media, or other public figures.
It's just like when the Democratic Party clearly favors one specific club while relentlessly punishing another, only to have the nerve to issue statements claiming everything is perfectly clean, the rules are applied equally to everyone, and the only real problem is the people who keep complaining.
It's the same dirty, slimy story every time.
This case is as clear as day. We all know that if anyone else showed up on this forum and started acting this way (harassing people and all that), they’d be gone in the blink of an eye, and any question as to why would be laughed off as totally insane.
Kudos to everyone else, but I'm not crazy, I'm not a fool, and I'm certainly not letting anyone treat me like one.
Anyway, I’m asking for a response and a ruling from someone other than the moderators, given the conflict of interest here (since they happen to be on the same side as the Colleague in question, and besides, admitting to these lapses would mean admitting their own fault, which they clearly aren't able to do).
Of course, I realize I shouldn't expect a dramatic turnaround; this thread will probably just end up in the trash, but hey, sometimes you just have to speak your truth.
