Resolution or what?

So, I just picked up a new Samsung monitor, but for some reason, the image isn't filling the entire screen; I'm stuck with these weird borders on the sides.
There aren't any actual settings on the monitor itself to fix this, so I'm honestly lost on where I'm even supposed to click to sort this out.
Come on, you guys—help a lady out here.

To get things moving, we really ought to have a bit more information on hand 🙂, such as which specific monitor you're using, the PC specs, the exact port being used on the graphics card, and the connection method itself...
As a starting point, I would suggest setting the computer's resolution to match the native resolution of the monitor—say, 1920x1080 or whatever its specific rating may be.

Just thinking out loud here... if you happen to be using a DisplayPort connection paired with an Intel graphics card, there might be some settings buried within the driver options, perhaps something involving Letterboxing, though my memory isn't quite perfect on the specifics.

It’s not actually his fault; he just needs to install some drivers. Everything was running perfectly fine until those idiots started messing around with his PC.

With Intel drivers, you can definitely set it up so that Full HD resolution stretches all the way to fill the screen. I'm actually running an Nvidia card myself—I'd love to give you a hand with the specific steps if I could—but I don't have the exact settings memorized off the top of my head.

I’ve been looking for it too, but I haven't had any luck whatsoever. Even trying to roll back the driver didn't seem to do a thing.

Use this tool to completely wipe out your old AMD drivers—it’ll scrub them from every single folder and directory on your system so you start with a clean slate. Once that's done, just head over to the official AMD website, grab the specific drivers meant for your graphics card, and run the installer. That should get everything back in working order...
