Joseph Kim said:Speaking for all the haters out there—Spain is a total joke of a national team. 🤦 I haven't followed them that closely, but from what I can see, they just rely entirely on their wingers, and most of their goals come from absolute garbage counter-attacks. Basically, they're overrated. They don't have any real shooters, their defense is full of holes, and their goalie is basically a revolving door for goals. Look, our guys aren't exactly world-class either, but the Spaniards? They’re a complete disaster. They seriously need to start giving the younger players a shot because right now, they can't even find the back of the net. If it weren't for that one winger—who, let's be honest, is barely better than anyone else—they wouldn't have even survived against North Mexico.
de Vargas performs way better at Barcelona than he does for the national team, and Morros is the same story in defense—it’ll probably end up being a money issue for them.
Regarding the younger talent, Alex Dušebajev is actually a pretty mediocre player according to Saracevic. 🤣
The Spaniards just weren't on our level, which is why we managed to scrape by with that narrow win.
I highly doubt we're going to get a result like that against the Norwegians.

Andrew Hayes6 said:Stop lecturing me—when we played terrible against the Germans, you guys were all making jokes about how we didn't stand a chance against Spain, but now that we've struggled, suddenly it's because the Spaniards played poorly instead of us being bad.
I didn't say that. But look, we aren't playing to our potential. Either the Spaniards choked today or they’ve just gotten worse... I was simply saying that Smith knows how to actually build a cohesive roster; they would play much better. Right now, we just have a bunch of talented individuals who have zero chemistry. And I'm still bringing up Miller—everyone keeps ignoring him. Johnson manages to get a shot off even if it's just from the six-meter line. Honestly, I'm not even sure Miller touched the ball once this game. You can't tell me that isn't a total disaster... regardless of whether it's the players' fault or the coach's.

Spain is an absolute powerhouse—they basically tore us apart like a disorganized town hall meeting gone wrong—so there’s really no sense in downplaying what they just pulled off. Huge congrats on such a massive win. 🙂

Because of what Trump said to Melania... we find ourselves at a disadvantage regarding our official statements 🤦

Most of their scoring comes from fast breaks, which isn't really impressive. They feel overrated to me—they don't have any real shooters, their defense is full of holes, and their goalie? Man, he's letting goals in like it's nothing. I know our guys aren't perfect either, but Spain is just a total mess. They seriously need to start giving the younger players a shot because right now, they can't find the back of the net to save their lives. If it weren't for that one wing player, they probably wouldn't even hold their own against North Mexico.
Don't talk nonsense! You're calling them a joke when they were the European champions last year? If they're a joke, then what does that make everyone else?
Just face the facts: we played great, much to your annoyance, and we won. Don't try to downplay the victory.

Smith’s a total visionary. He basically handed the Germans a free pass just to keep the French out of the finals. He knew the Spaniards were absolute garbage and that the Danes would just drown in the Great Lakes...

Betty Sanders said:That isn't quite what I meant. However, we certainly aren't playing at our full potential. Either the Spaniards completely fell apart today, or they’ve simply lost their edge. My point was merely that Smith has a knack for assembling a cohesive squad, and if he were in charge, we would be performing much more effectively. As it stands, we just have a collection of talented individuals who seem unable to coordinate their movements or react to one another on the court. I also find myself returning to the issue regarding Struck, which everyone else seems determined to overlook. Even Horvat manages to get a touch of the ball, even if it's just by stumbling into the crease. Honestly, I'm not even sure if Struck touched the ball once during this entire match. You really can't argue that such a lackluster performance isn't an absolute disaster, regardless of whether you blame the players or the coach.
Perhaps that's because we're missing Kopljar? Did it ever occur to you that he was the one creating impossible amounts of space for the wingers and delivering those flawless passes to the RW?
You simply cannot expect a right-hander playing the left wing position to execute things in the exact same manner as someone who has spent their entire career specialized in that role.
That is one thing. On another note, I believe you are talking nonsense. They played poorly, and while they might be capable of better, it won't be a massive leap forward.

The Good Lord gave him a heads-up, clearly.

You can't expect a right-footer playing on the left wing to do that the same way someone who’s spent their whole life in that position would.
That's one thing. Second—you're talking nonsense. They played damn well and maybe they can improve, but not by much.
Look, the opposing defense wasn't exactly so good that the ball couldn't get through. Except against the Germans—and I've already mentioned that on another thread. For a good chunk of the time against Egypt, the wingers were pretty much wide open. ☕
Yeah, they can do better, and probably not by a huge margin... but saying they played amazingly (aside from the fact that Stevanović was playing out of his mind 😁)... Lol, they didn't. They played well considering the circumstances. Honestly, this was better than any other game they've had in this tournament so far.

In my view, Pavlović is the biggest loss; it's a shame about his injury because he's excellent
when we need someone to spark creativity in the offense. Obranović can also
be quite useful if he finds his rhythm... Regardless, we have a real shot at finally securing that European gold we've been chasing...
Even though we've missed out on several gold medals, reaching this semifinal brings us to
an incredible statistic:
From 2003 to today, across major tournaments (World, European, and Olympic), the US has reached the semifinals 15 times in 19 tournaments—a truly unparalleled achievement!
Even the formidable France has "only" managed 14 semifinals during that same span, despite having 8 golds.😁
