I happen to have this one movie where the audio is a bit of a mess—it's originally in English, but there’s this Russian dialogue track layered right over the top of it.
If my memory serves me correctly, I recall stumbling upon a specific piece of software a few years back that was capable of stripping away that secondary audio track.
Does anyone happen to know the best way to go about removing that Russian audio?

If you're dealing with an .mkv file, you can just grab a tool like Handbrake (https://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/) to mess around with the files inside. This works if the movie actually has two separate audio tracks—say, English and Spanish—rather than just one single track where everything is baked together.

If it’s an .mp4, there are editors out there too, but I don't really use them, I guess.

I’m not sure if this will be useful, but I usually watch movies using BS Player. Sometimes I’ll run into a film that has both English and German audio tracks available...
In those cases, I just hop into the audio settings and swap the language from German to English.

Normally, you can just toggle between different audio tracks if a movie has two or more separate tracks available, but in this specific case, the Russian dialogue was basically baked right over the original track, so there isn't much we can do about it.
