I'm running into a major headache while trying to perform a factory reset.
Now, I've performed countless factory resets before, so I'm definitely not a novice here.
However, this time around, while resetting my Acer laptop, the process stalled at 8% and completely crashed. When I tried to reboot, I was met with this error message:
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the
cause. To fix the problem:
1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings and then click "next."
3. Click "Repair your computer."
If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer
manufacturer for assistance.

I've already attempted using several different discs, but they all fail at the exact same point—it just crashes and loops me right back to that same page, no matter what I try.

You don't really have much of a choice here—you'll need to grab another Windows installation DVD to either run a repair or go for a full reinstall. Ideally, you should just wipe the drive and start fresh, though obviously, make sure you back up your files first.

Download your Windows copy and run the system repair process using the method described above.

No matter what I do—whether I've installed something or left the drive out entirely—as soon as I power on the laptop, I'm stuck staring at the Windows Boot Manager screen. I've already tried diving into the BIOS settings to prioritize the hard drive as the primary boot device, but it doesn't help; it just loops right back to that same screen. To make matters worse, whenever I just turn the laptop on, the screen lights up and immediately kicks me straight back to that menu. I can't get past it to do anything else.
