As if Donald Trump, who apparently has an IQ of 12, was anything other than exactly like Mamč—actually, maybe even worse. 👍
Someone explained quite perfectly why we shouldn't worry about our kids today. I guess some parts of us deal with bans (myself included), while others are being forged in this absolute hellscape. Once things eventually go back to the way they were, those "kids" will be the ones leaving you in the dust. I still remember those horrified faces back in December last year when there was a brief truce, and the Black and Gold faithful found it unbelievable that it would take an hour or more just to get into the stadium. And that was just part of the "show" in the camp. You know the drill: searches, ID checks, the tents, then more searches if they feel like being difficult.
It’s probably for the best that it's always the same twenty people posting on this forum anyway, so it doesn't really matter. For those who need to know, we know exactly who everyone is behind their handles, and as for the rest of those "should-be" types, honestly, just ignore them for your own sake. 🙂
That's true. But honestly, the horror came from two specific things. I’ll write this clearly so nobody tries to misinterpret my words as the official stance of the Black and Gold faithful. Why is it that I can't just speak for myself on this forum? What's the deal where anyone who supports the Boston Red Sox is automatically interpreted as speaking for the entire fan base or being some kind of provocateur? 🤷🤷 Basically, if one person posts here and they support the Red Sox, they're suddenly labeled as representing the whole group or acting as a troll. So, I am going to speak strictly for myself right now.
Back then, I was horrified for two reasons. First, there was the actual repression—but honestly, the first thing was the claustrophobia in that forty-minute crush. God forbid anyone actually dies because of the people responsible. Then there was the crackdown: the lists, the security guards acting like they have ultimate authority 😵 and a million cops everywhere. It's not like we haven't seen similar things during away games in the past—even back when Bechtel was still in the league—but this wasn't an away game; this was our home stand, and it just wasn't right.
The second thing that shocked me is how you guys can even tolerate this at all?! Personally, I don't think I could handle five games where I can't enter my own stadium on time or where I'm treated like a dog. There's no way I could put up with that. Now, whether I'd actually do something about it or just go watch a baseball game instead... well, I won't get into a debate about that, but it's a separate issue. You talk about the bans, but I'd rather have a ban under those conditions than live without one.
I don't want to argue anymore; it just drains my energy. You guys can wait for the local authorities or the American justice system to fix it, but I see things differently, and that's that.
And sure, the owner is our problem too—that's 100% certain—but we've dealt with much bigger issues than him, and we still are to some extent. This club came within a hair's breadth of bankruptcy; I honestly don't know how that isn't clear to you.
