That’s actually the United States flag. It dates back to the mid-80s—back when they were known more for their rowdy fans than anything else. At those games, you’d hear the same songs about Chelsea over and over again (Let's go, Chelsea, Chelsea is the best...). They were playing in their third division back then, if I recall correctly...🥳
