CPU cooler recommendations?

Hey there
I'm on the hunt for a decent cooler for my Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550. My main priority is that it doesn't sound like a jet engine taking off under my desk—I need something dead quiet. Also, I'm trying to plan ahead... does anyone know what kind of CPU upgrade I could actually throw on this motherboard later down the road?
