Are you all honestly this naive, or is it just that the obvious is being ignored? This "famous" press release was clearly drafted in lockstep with the DNK, and it’s painfully apparent that the cardboard mummy is totally bluffing. It says right there, quite nicely, regarding the "presidential elections."
Basically, Zack is going to dictate certain terms under which the members get to elect a president. Whether he wants to retire, falls ill, or whatever else they decide behind closed doors, that's the deal. And presto—the fans get what they want! These people claiming they're "bringing football back to Chicago"—well, look, they've satisfied the fans. Some new kid or holy saint will be picked, whoever, and then for the next several years, they'll spend all their time blathering about how they finally listened to the supporters' demands.
As if they actually care where the games are played. The big boss will just build a new pub, issue a new membership card, and hire a new architect to put the whole thing together. We’re still a ways off from the end of the year, but I can already see the treasurer and the spokesperson acting as the "new assembly members." They'll stage a grand presentation claiming to represent the fans (even though by then, it'll be 67 people instead of 267 at a home game). The spokesperson will ramble on about three matches he attended twenty-five years ago, while the treasurer blesses everything like he's preaching the Word, only to screw everyone over in the end because of whatever mess started brewing before the meeting even began.
