Carl Edwards3 said:Roughly how many signatures have been collected?

The guys mentioned that they gathered over 3,000 just yesterday by about 4 p.m.

And those numbers are climbing every single day.🙂

Roger Morgan76 said:Yeah, the signatures are actually coming in surprisingly well.

I grabbed a clipboard so I could start collecting signatures from my relatives, friends, and coworkers—basically people I know are fed up with the big boss and will sign, but are just too lazy to trek downtown to find a booth themselves.
I was actually heading over to a buddy's place in a neighboring neighborhood the other day, carrying the clipboard, and I managed to snag a few signatures right there on the street. Later, I kept going toward Downtown to hit up a shop, and I pulled in about 20 signatures in just half an hour. It’s a shame it was already 9 PM and the stores were closing, otherwise, I would have gathered even more.
The best part is you don't even have to drag people by the arm or talk them into it; I just walk around holding the clipboard so they can see the Real Madrid crest and the "For Our Real Madrid" heading, then I just watch for reactions when someone notices. If they lock eyes with it or slow down, they already know what's happening (the media coverage lately has been pretty solid), and if they just notice the crest without knowing the details, I give them a quick rundown and the crew happily signs. So yeah, filling one clipboard is going to be easy.

My favorite guy was this one dude who practically "recorded" the clipboard in his mind; I asked him, "Would you sign the petition?" He shouted, "With pleasure!" He scribbled down all his info aggressively and finished by saying, "Finally, let that garbage get out... of the club."
Generally speaking, the feedback has been incredibly positive—everyone is offering support and keeping their fingers crossed. My only question is, where are all these people when it's actually time to show up at Yankee Stadium?🤷.

It doesn't make sense to anyone, and these people just don't realize how much more important this is than some damn petition... Until they finally get it through their heads, we're going to keep bleeding out.

People aren't showing up to the stadium because of the Boss, so why are you guys acting surprised?

Look, I’d obviously love to see 40,000 people at the stadium absolutely wrecking Garbage, but this is just how we are. We can't even get a crowd together if politicians were selling off Warsaw to Mexico for pennies...

That doesn't make the petition any less of an achievement, though—if anything, it's the best way to actually reach people. We aren't going to change human nature; we're just going to work around it.

Before the European season kicks off, we need to get everyone who signed the petition to show up at Yankee Stadium and back our demands. You can't expect a massive crowd to spend five years getting harassed while showing up to the stadium just to protest. We have to meet people where they are.

One idea is printing and handing out shirts with an affirmative message for the elections, then inviting everyone to wear them to the stadium until election day. That’s just one way to do it. We should coordinate this with Real Madrid. Imagine walking into every match seeing more and more people wearing the same shirt with the same message. Not some niche group slogan, but something for everyone.

We have to act. The 500 of us can't just keep banging our heads against a wall. The masses are ready for the elections, but nobody is utilizing that energy correctly. Let's wake up Chicago, bit by bit.

The club's plan is obvious: get rid of the rest of us so they can let hired goons lead the rhythm for the unorganized crowds. They won't think twice about handing out North Stand tickets to naive fans, especially for those European games. That's why we need smart organization during this shortage.

Nailing the European matches is crucial because that's when the turnout will be highest. Real Madrid will run a PR campaign, distribute North Stand tickets, and manipulate the public by claiming Mamić's people will get the team kicked out of Europe—basically baiting the crowd to boo anyone who tries to step up.

People need to realize that regular fans aren't the enemy; they're just being manipulated through their love for the club. We need a smart strategy instead of just hitting a wall. If we just form a pack of 500, the police will just whistle us away and we'll have nothing to show for it.

That's for the European games. Later, once we're back to having 1,000 of us at the stadium, it won't be an issue.

Saw this on the UN Facebook page, is it legit?

Alert: Police have already started breaking up signature collectors at a few locations, even though they were on private property and haven't broken a single law! They're even throwing around arrest threats! Volunteers, watch your backs

Whatever, there are plenty of other spots where getting signatures is legal. It’s not gonna tank the whole movement.

Honestly, I figured this would happen. Mamić's buddies are gonna try to screw things up, but honestly, they can't touch us.

Stay sharp!!!

Yeah.

Nothing better to do. At least today's kids actually have some guts.😛

Alert: Local PD is already moving in to break up signature collectors at a few different spots, even though they were just on private property and haven't broken a single law! They’ve actually gone as far as making arrest threats! Volunteers, please stay safe and watch your backs.

Once they start deploying the riot squads onto the streets, things are really going to get interesting.😉

darkcyclist212 said:Honestly, this "paper" petition carries way more weight in my book.

They should basically be worth the same thing...
Take that recent online vote over in Venice and the surrounding area—about 70% of the local voters went for independence. Sure, it’s got zero legal teeth, but it’s a massive signal to demand a real referendum... assuming they actually have the guts to follow through.
I’m guessing that’s the play here too, just at the local level. I doubt this is even an issue for the federal government to touch..
The news is saying once they get enough signatures, the next move is knocking on the doors of the Mayor or the Governor..
Or maybe they just want enough clout to force a debate in Congress, though I don't see the point in that. If it stays there, it's just a bunch of politicians deciding things instead of the actual people..
The bottom line is you gotta watch every single tiny detail to make sure it’s strictly by the book. Look back at those 2007 initiatives when veteran groups were gathering signatures for a referendum to stop cooperating with the Hague tribunal. On the surface, everything looked perfect. They hit the signature count, easy. But then the bureaucrats claimed there were procedural errors, and boom—the whole thing was tossed out.
You better study the laws on referendums and direct citizen participation in government, plus all the stuff about local and regional self-governance. Not sure if they’ve renamed the statutes lately, but read up..
Good luck..

Hey everyone, I wanted to say hi first... I've probably been lurking here for two or three years now, but I finally decided to actually register because I have a quick question...

I'm currently collecting signatures over in Canada, and I was wondering what should go into the Social Security number field? Is it usually just the birth date plus some other ID number, or maybe something else people have used before?

I'm collecting signatures over in Canada and was wondering what goes in the Social Security field? Like, do people just put their birthday plus some ID number or something?

Even in Washington, D.C., most folks just use their birthdate. Forget the SSN. It's just a way to tell people apart since you can have multiple people with the same name living at one address.

This isn't like we're gathering signatures for a national referendum.

We've gathered 5,260 signatures so far.😁

I just wonder, though... does anyone know if there's a limit?

Is that just without the online petition? 🤷

My older sister signed up online today... my husband refused to join me, claiming he's worried about what might happen later if we get too involved.😂
Naturally, I told him exactly where he could shove his opinion, calling him out for being a cheapskate who's just afraid of making a move. 🙄
