Jesse Campbell said:I don't think either of you two really understood what I meant.

When someone signs something, it means they support that specific idea. This means that the concept of "one member, one vote" isn't just some fantasy dreamed up by AC/DC or the Chicago Blackhawks fans anymore; it’s an actual principle supported by a massive number of Dinamo supporters.

First, four former captains gave their blessing, and then an enormous crowd of people followed suit. I guess this shows we haven't been working for nothing all this time. Do you honestly think people just sign things for no reason? It seems like you might have never actually tried organizing a petition before... 🙄

Personally, I'm all for a major protest. ☕

I agree with you there. At the very least, it will establish a clear count of how many people are standing behind you. You can definitely use that number as a powerful argument later on.
Good luck!

MLB. Just like the Yankees, you gotta play to win. Jesse Campbell says:
We had like 18,000 signatures a few years back that got handed straight to Antonio Banderas, but after that? Total radio silence. Not even a peep about the petition since.

Whatever. Let's just wallow in the misery a little longer then. You ever hand that stuff over to Mickey?

Baseball's just different. It’s a whole different game. Jesse Campbell says:
Unless we get at least 10,000 people out on the streets, nothing's actually gonna change.

I'm with you. But that petition isn't some harmless little thing. You can tell by how jittery everyone at the club is getting. ☕

Jesse Campbell said:Yeah, yeah. Let's just sit here and wallow in the misery, why don't we? Did you hand her over to Mickey yet?

I'm with you on that. But don't act like this petition isn't a serious move. You can practically feel the tension vibrating through the front office... ☕

There’s nothing "whiny" about it. The bottom line is the fact remains: absolutely nothing has changed!

The petition is just phase one. Phase two is massive protests in the streets. Without those, the first part is just paper hitting the floor...

Basically, grab as many signatures as possible so this actually makes some noise in the media, then hit the pavement!

Let's move this to the other thread...

Jesse Campbell, that was an incredible piece in ESPN today!
Man, talk about hitting it out of the park on your very first try!😁It’s like you showed up for your first date and ended up with Linda Evangelista—talk about luck!
Are we witnessing the birth of a new journalistic superstar here?
Your next logical career move is probably becoming a spokesperson for either Joe Biden or Newt Gingrich!
Good lord, Eric Cantona, bless your heart!😛

Holy shit, first time writing and you already hit a home run!😁It’s like you just stepped onto the field and immediately scored on Linda Evangelista!
Are we looking at the next big media star here?
Next step is being the press secretary for Joe Biden or Newt Gingrich!
Or maybe Eric Cantona, god knows!😛

Man, I put my first article out twenty years ago. If you got a problem, maybe stop only reading ESPN. :😁

Just kidding. Thanks for the love. But yeah, I've covered fan stuff for them before too.

Christian Jones said:It’s not even about debating the details—it’s the fact that nothing actually happened.

The petition is just step one. Step two is hitting the streets with massive protests, otherwise the first part is useless.

Bottom line: grab as many signatures as possible to make some damn noise in the media, then start the protests.

We have a separate thread for this specific debate...

This is exactly what I’m talking about. You guys call me an optimist, I call you irrational pessimists.

That previous petition was poorly run, too small, and barely made a ripple. It’s got zero connection to this one.

If you look at it through my lens, you can see how much we've grown as a group since then. People finally realize they care about a major franchise, not some petty local drama.

That's what the public wants to see.

That previous petition was poorly run, smaller scale, and barely made a dent. There’s zero logical connection between that and what we’re seeing now.

If you look at this through my "optimistic" lens, it’s pretty obvious how much we’ve leveled up as a group and as individuals since then. People finally woke up to the fact that we're talking about a major league franchise here, not some cheap high school drama.

The public wants real action, and they can see it.

Look, it's not just that you're an optimist—you're a total Don Quixote. I respect the hustle, but give it a rest. And saying the old petition has nothing to do with this one or was just "worse organized"? That just proves you can't see the forest for the trees... but hey, keep dreaming.

Whatever, man. I thought this thread was actually about what we're discussing here, but it's all about Brazil? Seriously? I could've written that myself. I've been on a ship down there a few times, plus I could've just hit up Google and spit out something similar.😢

Wrong. You just don't get that nobody ever won a fight by being a pessimist.

Look, if you get hit with a nasty diagnosis and doctors say your odds are slim, does giving in to pessimism help? Or do you actually have a better shot if you go full "crazy optimist" and push yourself to the limit?

My optimism is just a response to the irrational defeatism and the constant gloom surrounding this whole struggle. Back in the 90s, when we were fighting for our identity, I wasn't some delusional dreamer for one simple reason: there was no depression back then.

We knew we were fighting for the right cause, so we didn't stress about the timing or how we'd win.

Victory is the total sum of everything we've done, and every single step has mattered. Even that 2008 petition. You can't honestly tell me this one isn't better organized and way bigger.

And yeah, I agree we need to be smart about what we do next. Like I said, I'm all for the protests and everything else.

I’ve had quite a few drinks today, so please excuse my lack of filter.
I usually write from the comfort of my living room, but right now I’m just sipping some lukewarm water.

Justin Watson4 said:Jesse Campbell, if you have even an ounce of dignity left, please, as a "colleague," stop with the LIES. You lie constantly and feed people nothing but FALSE hope! This fight will be won on the streets when the time comes, not on paper like you keep insisting! If you think I’m talking nonsense, then go talk to the people (like me) who actually took hits in Cleveland while your car sat there watching us bleed, just so you could personally tell us: "WE'RE COMING TO HELP NOW!" Look, you turned out to be a total coward, so as a coward, you have no right to speak for any struggle! Stop it NOW for the sake of everyone fighting an HONEST fight every single day! Stop shaming us daily! If you have any shred of dignity left!

Man, you're just some random guy on a forum, and as a fan, you basically admitted it yourself. Because of him, a huge crowd of people stopped showing up here to post, and unfortunately, they stopped showing up at the stadium too—it's obvious. His way of spreading defeatism is way too sophisticated for him to even grasp, while those who don't look at it from his angle (fans of other clubs) just see him as a clown. That's it. End of story. The fact that he's been writing like this for years only proves certain things about this group.

Brandon Anderson34 said:Man, you’ve been posting on this board for 5,200 posts, and you basically admitted it—you’re the reason people stopped showing up here and even stopped going to the stadium. It’s obvious. Your way of spreading defeatism is way too high-brow for him to grasp, while fans from other clubs just look at him like a total clown. That's the bottom line. The fact that he's been writing the same garbage for years just proves what kind of guy he is within the group.

Nice try, jerk. 🙂

Yeah, right. It's not Mamić's fault the stadium is empty; it's because of what I wrote on the forums. And it's not my posts that kept people away from the West Stand either, CLOWN!!!
Luckily, 90% of the heavy hitters in this group don't even read this site. Your problem is that you're inactive, so this is your only source of info.

The real defeatism comes from anyone claiming Mamić is invincible. I'm just saying he isn't!

I've got a right to an opinion, and honestly, I've called everything correctly for the last 10-15 years.

Back in 2003, when that fan law passed, I was one of the few who saw where it was heading. People laughed at me then, saying we'd just fight the law by breaking it. Nobody's laughing now.

In 2005, a few of us tried to take on Mamić, but the movement was sabotaged by traitors later on. Now, we don't even have to convince anyone.

In 2009, I argued that only if all American fans united could we win, and with help from Valsimot and a few others, we actually pulled it off temporarily. Nowadays, it's common sense; everyone knows the only way to beat those vouchers was together.

Since the boycott started in 2010, I've been working hard for the group and ZZD, even though I'm not a decision maker. Like I told those traitors on Facebook, if the group decides tomorrow that Mamić is trash, I'll respect that. That's what being a soldier for the movement means, Mickey!!!

So yeah, based on all that, I'll write whatever the hell I want on this forum. Stop watching me and ask yourself what you've actually done to help us win. Ask yourself two things: ☕

How many games did you actually show up to this spring?

And how many signatures did you collect?

It’s honestly a joke. I constantly hear people saying, "Man, I’m skipping the game today because Jesse Campbell is busy venting on the forums." 🤣

All those people were talking trash about the boycott, but now that he's actually gone, nobody's even saying anything about how the games or away matches look. 🙄

Give it a rest, Jesse Campbell. There is absolutely no need to justify anything to anyone, especially not to those fair-weather fans who don't even understand the fundamental history of this club.
The Bad Boys' sincere struggle against the organized crime elements has already elevated this group to a higher level, though there remains significant room for further progress.
Ultimately, achieving a transparent and just Washington, D.C. FC will happen when it happens—likely sooner than some expect—even if we have to start over from the bottom tier with a roster of unknown amateurs.
