Free shipping in the US?
Are they charging German or American sales tax?

Standard German VAT rates applied here.

I ended up saving about $1,300. Back then in the States, a decent GPU would've cost me as much as my entire rig did over in Germany...

Are they charging German or American taxes? Like, what's the sales tax situation?

As far as I know, Mindfactory doesn't even ship to the States...

Big retailers shipping to other EU countries just charge the local sales tax (like Amazon)

Aha, thought you were picking it up locally in the US.

I suspect most people probably do the same thing when they're entering a delivery address, mostly because they're just trying to avoid getting hit with some unexpected fine, don't you think?

It’s mandatory once you hit that $100k-$200k revenue mark in the US—which is a lot for some small shops but nothing for the big players—but sure, they can always jump the gun using that centralized system first.

Hey everyone, anyone know of a solid alternative to an RX 570 8GB for under $300? Looking for something that hits similar performance levels.

Used 2060 or a new 1660.

You might be able to pull this off much cheaper if the performance hits the spot for you:

It’s roughly 30% faster than an AMD Radeon RX 570, though I guess it does pull about 100W more power.

Or, you could go with something on the level of an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 that comes with a 3-year warranty:

Hey, just a heads-up on that GSM center—they were selling cards used for mining as if they were brand new. Probably the same deal with this one...

Greetings, everyone. I am looking to upgrade my graphics card and processor. My gaming habits aren't particularly intense—I mostly just play FIFA—but it seems the FIFA 23 system requirements demand a bit more power than what I currently have... My current setup is an AMD FX 8320 paired with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB. What would be a sensible choice that won't break the bank, perhaps something similar to my old components that could still hold up for a few years... Thanks.

There isn't really a better CPU for that socket—I mean, there might be, but they aren't worth mentioning—so you've basically hit a dead end there. You’d have to swap out the motherboard, CPU, and RAM all at once. If I were you, I'd probably just upgrade the GPU first to see if that makes enough of a difference, though it really depends on whether you're looking for something new or used and what kind of budget you're working with.

Here are the minimum system requirements for FIFA 23:

System Requirements

Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system.
OS: Windows 10 64-bit.
Processor: Intel Core i5-6600K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600
Memory: 8 GB RAM.
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 570.
DirectX: DirectX 12.
Network: Broadband internet connection.
Storage: 100 GB available space.

Based on this, you should be fine on the graphics side (obviously, don't expect 4K or ultra settings!), but that processor? You might be in trouble. Those FX processors were never really considered performance kings, right?

True, 4K isn't necessary. What processor would you recommend right now? I don't want to spend all day searching through threads; just something solid that will last a while without being outrageously expensive. Thanks.

I'm telling you, it's not just about swapping out the CPU; you’re probably looking at a whole new motherboard, RAM, and processor at that point.

The i3-10105F is still an absolute steal for the price, and it'll handle FIFA just fine enough.
Of course, you’re going to need a motherboard and some RAM to go with it.

But hey, you could always look for used parts. I'm sure you'll find plenty of deals on Craigslist where people are offloading entire CPU, motherboard, and RAM bundles.

The motherboard should be fine since I replaced it recently. As for the RAM, buying more isn't an issue...

What is that even going to be useful for? What motherboard are we talking about, and have you actually checked the supported CPU list? There isn't anything more powerful for that socket, regardless of whether you just swapped it out or not...

Alright. I'm looking for advice from someone who actually knows their stuff; I'm not here to debate. My GPU should be fine. Now, I need recommendations on what to buy next. I'm looking for something reasonably priced—nothing excessive—that will last as long as my previous components. Specifically, I need suggestions for a motherboard, RAM, and a processor. Thanks.
