The cameraman is doing alright πŸ™‚

Respect to the guyβ€”he's a pro πŸ™‚

edit:

1513:

Paul Allen was the cameraman who was struck by a wheel that flew OFF Mark Webber's red Bull in The pit lane. The Fio have issued a statement:

"He was treated at the circuit medical centre and then transported by helicopter to Mayo Clinic. The Briton Has been kept There, under observation. Further Information fra The Hospital will be provided as soon as IT becomes available."

People can say whatever they want, but Webber has proven himself to be a fantastic driver over these last few races. I honestly don't believe Alonso or Hamilton would have performed any better in a Red Bull Racing car. While Vettel might be the superior driver, he isn't as much better as it seems at first glance... if that incident hadn't happened to Webber today, I suspect he would have been right in the thick of the championship fight rather...

If Webber wasn't constantly acting as a lightning rod for all the chaos happening over at Red Bull Racing, he might have actually walked away with this one. It’s a real shame, honestly...

Joseph Peterson8 said:That is such an incredibly fascinating bit of trivia. Honestly, Vettel really should have fought his way up at least another three or four spots there. If Alonso had been in his seat, I am absolutely certain he would have pulled it off through sheer, masterful driving.

Oh, you joker!πŸ˜›

It feels like Lotus just can't figure out their timing when it comes to bringing a driver in for a pit stop. Honestly, when Kimi had built up that massive 15.8s gap over Vettelβ€”and was sitting a whopping 17.5s ahead of Romainβ€”that was the absolute perfect moment to strike. I don't know, it really feels like there are some total amateurs running the show in those pit boxes πŸ™‚

Larry Fox5 said:Not necessarily. Maybe in certain driving elements he isn't, but when you really look at it... The complete package of a single driver. Then it's just over the top.

The driver and the car.
When you look at the whole package, Vettel is a powerhouse.

Larry Fox5 said:The biggest mess of all? Ferrari waiting until he hits his 30s just to offer him a contract. Why couldn't they have done that years ago? 😒

It isn't the driver. It’s the car. Ferrari’s issues lie with the machine, not the man behind the wheel.

No.
If they had brought him in then, he wouldn't have been able to run the softer compounds because they wouldn't have lasted until the finish.
And if they had put him on hards, he would have just emerged behind Romain Grosjean and ended up right back where they started...

That’s one of the most pointless Safety Car calls I’ve seen in a long time. By the time they actually pulled the trigger, the race was already effectively decided, making the whole deployment a complete waste of time. It felt entirely unnecessary. Besides, we could really do with some lessons for the drivers on how to actually clear the track when the opportunity arises.

If they had brought him in for a pit stop right then, he wouldn't have been able to run the softer compoundsβ€”they just wouldn't have lasted until the end of the race.
On the other hand, if they had opted for the harder tires, he likely would have overtaken Romain Grosjean, which would have put them right back at the front again.

Even in this scenario, those soft tires didn't really give him much of an advantage.

Bottom line: Ferrari has been sitting pretty in fourth place on the grid for the last two races.

jadeseal7 said:It seems like all that software tweaking didn't actually yield the results he was looking for...

It turns out they didn't, but calling that a tactical blunder by the Lotus pit wall feels like a stretch. They made a move to pressure Vettel, and honestly, they didn't really lose anything by trying...

Edward Howard2 said:The takeaway here seems to be pretty clear: over the last two races, Ferrari has consistently found themselves sitting in fourth place on the grid...

Unfortunately, it’s the absolute truth...

Tyler Bennett5 said:Sebastian Vettel, Kimi Raikkonen, and Romain Grosjean all stepped up when it mattered most, unlike Fernando Alonso.
Those few laps spent trailing Lewis Hamilton definitely cost him a better finishing position.

Those laps certainly took a toll, but let's be honestβ€”the Ferrari was absolutely struggling with top speed today, and the traction coming out of both those DRS zones was just terrible...
Alonso got lucky with Mark Webber today, because there's no way he would have passed him otherwise...

Romain Grosjean showed he has the pace, but it's interesting how he only seems to find his stride when temperatures spike. It takes so many variables to align perfectly for him to hit his rhythm... we saw the same thing last year in Canada and Bahrain, and again this year in Bahrain and today.

It’s such a shame about Mark Webber... honestly, if he'd had a clean run, that podium would likely have been his. With a solid drive, he could've even snatched the win.

Mercedes really needs to come up with something fast, otherwise they're going to get absolutely smoked when we hit Canada, Italy... and don't even get me started on Singapore. At that point, anything under five pit stops would feel like a massive success.

1 Lewis absolutely shredded his tires
2 Ricciardo tanked it because he's driving a literal dumpster
3 He locked up Felipe Massa in fifth gear
4 They completely screwed Mark Webber in the pits

ABSOLUTELY MASTERFUL

Today just went and proved that Red Bull is a straight-up criminal outfit. You can practically see those dictator genes running through their DNA. But hey, just like how the Fuhrer fell, they’re gonna go down too.

Raymond Anderson4 said:The Ferrari is such a weird car... traction is great through some corners, then absolutely abysmal in others.

I just noticed the same thing. The only logical explanation for why they weren't passing Lewis Hamilton on those paper-thin tires, or Romain Grosjean in that old ex Renault on heavy, slow rubber, is just straight-up terrible traction out of the corners.
It might seem a little wild that Alonso is pulling a fastest lap that’s over a second quicker than Grosjean... and easily the fastest lap of the race.

The traction in these corners is absolute garbage. Just total garbage. 🧐
He’s even messing with the maestro. When you’re running a car that's 1.1 seconds faster than everyone else....
What an absolute dumpster fire this Ferrari is... there isn't a trace of speed to be found. Honestly, it’s pathetic.πŸ™‚

Sure, the driver who crosses the line first wins, obviously... but the real MVP of the race was Mark Webber.πŸ™
He overtook everyone on the track in a single lap... Mark The fucking King of The Road. πŸ™‚

Holy crap, I’m staring at the live timing and suddenly Webber pulls a fast one, setting the fastest lap of the race right under the Safety Car. πŸ™
I’m honestly shocked he didn't get slapped with a penalty.🀣

Sebastian Vettel is predictably the best...
Can we please get some actual competition? Stop giving us these retirees and give us the young guns from GP2 instead. πŸ™‚

By the way, they could give the pedals to any of the guys in redβ€”honestly, I don't care which one. I mean, Kamui Kobayashi eats those drivers for breakfast. Just get that Ferrari into the hands of a real racer.😳
I've actually never seen Kamui Kobayashi in a red car before.β˜•

Honestly, you could just read the frustration written all over Valsechiev's face. It was like he was thinking, "I could pass people in this junk car myself... just give me the seat and ditch this clumsy Frenchman already."😠"
