I’d honestly suggest everyone go see Dr. Poljak in Miami. 👍

Can anyone who’s had a septum repair at a local clinic walk me through the process? I’m genuinely curious about what actually happened while I was knocked out. 😁 I realize you probably didn't see much, but surely the sounds alone gave away what they were doing...

Hey everyone! 🙂
Does anyone happen to know if Dr. Glušac only handles cosmetic rhinoplasty? I don't have any functional issues, so I see no reason for him to mess with that part. Also, does anyone know the price for just the aesthetic procedure, or maybe someone here has actually been to see him?
Thanks in advance. 😁

Honestly, you might have a hard time finding someone willing to dive into those details...

I've actually got my septoplasty scheduled for this September under local anesthesia, so I'll be sure to report back and let you guys know how it goes. 🙂

I went with local-plus option before and it was totally fine. 😁
Don't sweat the details too much—you might be aware of things happening for tiny stretches of time, but you won't actually feel a thing. Honestly, I think local is better for the recovery side of things too. No nausea, you're breathing on your own right away, no nasty sore throat from a tube, etc. Your doctor will walk you through the whole deal anyway.😉

Hey everyone!
I'm thinking about getting a rhinoplasty done sometime after the summer, so I was wondering if anyone knows what the typical cost looks like or if there's a really solid medical center you'd recommend
and, well, what's the recovery actually like?
I'm sure most of these questions have probably been answered already, but since I noticed this thread is over 400 pages long, I honestly didn't have the energy to scroll through all of that.

Don't sweat it too much—you’ll basically only be out for bits and pieces at a time. You'll mostly just remember small fragments of everything, and honestly, you won't feel a thing. Also, I think staying at a local clinic like Arcadia Medical Center makes the recovery way easier because of the side effects—you don't deal with nausea, you can breathe on your own, and you avoid that nasty sore throat afterward, etc., etc. Your doctor will walk you through all the details anyway.😉

Same here. I had my septum deviated about 10 years ago at Shalat—they did it under heavy local anesthesia (though, honestly, I didn't realize that was the plan beforehand). 😁 )

I was totally dazed—kind of like I "woke up" for a second while they were stitching me up. It didn't actually hurt, but I could definitely feel them tugging at something, so I think I started making some noise. Then I drifted right back off and finally came to once everything was finished. I was pretty spooked for a minute, which sent my pulse racing, but it settled down quickly enough.

Hey everyone, I’m feeling a bit lost here and could use some guidance. I have my surgery scheduled for three months from now to fix my septum deviation, and the paperwork says I need to get blood work and urine tests done through my primary care physician. However, I'm a little confused about the part regarding the anesthesiologist; it mentions I need a consultation fifteen days before the procedure. Since nobody seems to be answering the phone number provided on the documents, am I supposed to just show up with all my results from the GP? Also, if anyone happens to be in Miami, could you tell me where the anesthesiology clinic is located at the main hospital, and do I actually need to sign up for an appointment there ahead of time?🙂

Bunny, who's going to be performing your surgery?

lonehawk8, I can't seem to get a message through to you. Should I be getting my referral for the anesthesiologist consultation from my regular primary care physician? I just received the results from the ENT specialist along with the confirmation that my surgery has been officially scheduled.

Hey everyone!!!
I'm thinking about getting my nose done toward the end of September, so I was hoping to get some advice from people who have actually gone through it.
Does anyone know of a good clinic in Chicago, what kind of prices we're looking at, and honestly, is the recovery pretty painful?

Hey everyone!
Quick question for the group... has anyone been in touch with the Actress's office lately? I've been trying to reach them for days now—calling, sending emails, you name it—but absolutely nothing. It's like they've vanished off the face of the earth. Is that person even still in business? 😁

The anesthesia clinic is located right on the ground floor, so getting there is incredibly easy.

Regarding the choice between local and general anesthesia, well, if you’re asking me, I would personally opt for general anesthesia every single time. I’ve actually undergone surgery under general myself, and in my experience, it’s the only way to go.
My initial consultation with the surgeon who is performing my rhinoplasty took place at a local outpatient clinic under local anesthesia.

Then I actually met the anesthesiologist who told me that performing nose surgery under local anesthesia was a total non-starter—no way!😁

As for choosing between local vs. general anesthesia... hmm, I’d personally go with general. I’ve actually had surgery under general before.
My first chat with the surgeon who's doing my nose job was all about using enhanced local anesthesia.

But then I met the anesthesiologist, and they basically told me: "Local for a nose job? No way."😁

How long did you have to stay in the recovery ward after the procedure? Honestly, I'm sticking to enhanced local anesthesia no matter what, regardless of whatever advice the anesthesiologist tries to give me.

I had my rhinoplasty done privately, so I wasn't even admitted to the hospital; I was back home within two hours.

My honest advice to you? For heaven's sake, just listen to the anesthesiologist!
