http://www.realself.com/photo/900184 -- here are some options for those of us dealing with thick skin. I'm honestly not sure who out there is actually opting for skin grafts lately...

Hi everyone—well, I've finally worked up the nerve to pull the trigger on surgery with Dr. Ostojic, so I was wondering if anyone knows roughly how long the waitlist is once you've had that initial consultation? It’s a bit awkward for me because of my travel arrangements for those ten days following the procedure, so I'm trying to figure out when I should actually schedule that first appointment to get everything lined up. 😁

Hannah Wright6 said:Hey everyone!! Has anyone here had surgery at Vinogradska Hospital with Dr. Vagic? I haven't found much info on the forums, so figured I'd just ask if anyone knows anything 😉 My septum surgery is scheduled for Oct 17th, so I’d love to hear some experiences 😉 thanks 🙂

and how it went. I saw him about 15 years ago and he did an awesome job, but in the meantime, I broke my nose again (boxing). Just wondering if I can go back to him as a private patient since Medicare won't cover it, or if he does private work too

Anything is possible—but honestly, it usually comes at the expense of the hospital's bottom line. At Vinogradska Hospital, the standard stay is typically five days, though maybe they'll shave a day off for some minor procedures.

Terry Smith9 said:Is nobody going to say anything about Bastaic or Toncic??????

I actually had my surgery with Bastaic about four years ago, whereas a close friend of mine went to Toncic, and unfortunately, she ended up needing a follow-up procedure, so I personally wouldn't recommend him at all.
If you are looking specifically for aesthetic results, I truly believe Zambell is the absolute best in the US. 🙂
Best,

Has anyone here actually had rhinoplasty done by Glumicic? I’m looking for someone willing to share their honest experience—how satisfied are you with the results overall?
Is he just good at making the profile look nice, or does he handle the front view well too? I’m specifically wondering if he can properly shape the tip and narrow the bridge effectively.
Please, any information at all would be greatly appreciated.

If it’s actually true that he did the work for Ivo Saric Leko, then obviously he can pull off a great job if he actually puts his mind to it.

Didn't Glumicic perform surgery on Blanka Vlasic too? And honestly, looking at her, that new nose didn't exactly turn out to be a stroke of luck 🙄

Yeah, what we're talking about here is just going from one extreme to the other.

Regarding Blanka Vlasic's profile, I think she looks fine with how her previous work turned out, but looking at her front profile? I honestly can't say. It’s almost as if nothing changed at all; in fact, she even seems to have developed this little line on her forehead, almost as if the surgeon removed far too much cartilage.

Hey everyone. It’s been two months since my surgery, and my nose is still looking completely crooked. I get that swelling lingers for a while, but seriously, what is up with this bump that shows up clearly in my left profile and semi-profile? My surgeon claims the bones are just starting to fuse and that things need time to settle, supposedly making the hump disappear. Yeah, right. Not to mention the right side is lower than the left; there’s this indentation, like something is missing. o.O Now I'm wondering, is there any chance I can go in for a revision, or am I going to have to pay out of pocket for a touch-up?😢

I get that swelling is part of the deal and takes a while to subside, but good grief—this bump is incredibly obvious whenever I look at my left profile or even a three-quarter view. My doctor claims the bone has only just started to fuse and tells me I need to be patient, insisting that the hump will eventually settle down and disappear. Yeah, right. As if. And don't even get me started on how much lower my right side is compared to the left; there's this weird indentation, almost like something is missing. o.O Now I’m wondering, is there any chance I can go back in for a revision, or am I going to be stuck paying out of pocket for a correction?😢

So, who did you end up going to for the surgery, and what exactly was the procedure they performed on your nose?

restlessdrifter41 said:Who was your surgeon, and what exactly did they do to your nose?

It was with Dr. Ostojic. He operated on everything there was to fix on my nose.😬 Honestly, since I broke my nose on the right side, it grew crooked and developed that infamous bump. Plus, my airway clearance was basically zero on the left side and only 60% on the right. The breathing is better now, but aesthetically? It’s a mess. I didn't drop 2,000 bucks for mediocre results. 🙂 He didn't even deliver half of what he promised. A friend actually asked me once why the bump was still visible after the surgery. It's smaller, sure, but it's still there. From the profile, the nose looks great, but from the front or semi-profile, it's a disaster.

From the profile view, the nose looks lovely, but from the semi-profile and the front? Absolutely terrible.

I actually considered going to him myself, but I ultimately decided against it. Looking at his website, it seemed like the front view of the patients stayed exactly the same as before the operation—it's as if he only knows how to fix a profile and calls it a day.

Does anyone have experience with Dr. Munitic or the Mester clinic? I have a consultation scheduled there on July 7th.

restlessdrifter41 said:I thought about going to him too, but I eventually backed out. Looking at his results page, his frontal work looks exactly like it did before surgery—it's like he only knows how to fix a profile and nothing else.

That’s exactly what happened. The profile looks perfect, but everything else? It’s like God just didn't allow it; nothing changed. Once that bump hits the top of my nose, things are going to get even worse. The hump will look even more prominent. It's just one endless cycle of agony.🙂

A friend of mine had surgery with him back when he was still working at Mercury. It went well; he did a solid job...

I am not entirely certain if this is the most appropriate thread for such a query, but since it feels the most relevant, I thought I would ask: does anyone happen to know what might cause me to wake up in the morning with blood mixed in my saliva after blowing my nose? It has been happening quite frequently over the last few months, though I must note that I haven't experienced any other physical discomfort or issues otherwise. 🙂

It really depends on whether your nose is just dry—like, if the mucous membrane has cracked. If you're blowing your nose too hard, you can actually burst capillaries, so you should definitely check in with an ENT. In the meantime, try using some Nisita ointment or Nisita Spray. If the issue is actually sinus-related, something like an Inks spray or maybe Nasomex 1 x2 might help, though it could take about a month to see results.

I’ve been thinking about heading out to see someone about this lately, though the feeling itself has been surfacing quite frequently, albeit in fits and starts, of course. I haven't exactly treated it as a major crisis until now, but it certainly isn't anything one would call normal, so I really ought to make an appointment soon 😉 And it often feels as if things are just draining straight down into my throat
