plus I've already chatted with a few girls on here who have been to see him before...

So, what’s everyone’s experience been like?

Does the Unknown nose job actually look good from the front? Does it really slim things down?

I didn't get any ointment from them
And what about the scabs? Did they even bother cleaning them out? During that first checkup, or did they just skip it entirely?
I have no idea why he didn't give me anything 🤔

Honestly, I didn't even deal with scabs. At my checkups, they’d just vacuum out those little blackheads and patch up my nose, and that was pretty much it.

He’s incredibly easy to talk to and really takes the time to walk you through the whole process, explaining the "what" and the "why," which I found helpful since I was dealing with a secondary operation, making things quite a bit more complicated than usual.
As for his expertise regarding the tip of the nose, it looks like he actually pursued a specific fellowship or some kind of advanced specialization for it—it’s actually noted right there in his professional biography.

I have no idea why he didn't give me anything.🤔

I was prescribed Maxitrol drops, Belogent ointment, and saline. I didn't have any scabs. I just did heavy rinsing frequently with about 10 ml of saline in a syringe—half in each nostril—and all the clots just drain out from the nose and sinuses...

I used to be able to knock back three or four shots in a row without even blinking. Honestly, looking back, I was pretty much a heavy hitter.

And how exactly did you spray that?
Is just tilting my head while standing enough, or do I need to lie down and hang my head over the edge of the bed? Can you actually overdo it with this kind of spraying?

Don't sweat it, you'll be fine. Here's what I do: I tilt my head way over to the left—like, totally horizontal—and then blast the spray straight into my right nostril a few times. Then I flip my head to the right side and do the exact same thing with the left side. If everything is clear, the liquid should flow right through to the other side. If it’s blocked up (usually just some nasty congestion), it’ll either swirl back or head down toward your throat. It’s no big deal, doesn't hurt, just feels a little weird. :-D Personally, I like to follow that up by cleaning everything out with Q-tips and a bit of moisturizer, and then my nose is good to go. I usually rinse everything out in the morning and at night, plus whenever I need to during the day if a cold starts making things runny.

I’m honestly terrified to touch it. I feel like if I breathe wrong, I’ll just pull a stitch out.
I’ve been working on it all day today, and finally, I can actually breathe through my nose normally. The right side is still a bit tender after the swelling goes down, though. How long were you stuck sleeping exclusively on your back? Today is my ninth day, and I’ve started sleeping on my side—is that going to be an issue?

I honestly have no idea how you could suddenly manage to load and spray that much at once.
My process involves loading up and then just doing half a syringe per nostril because if I try more than that, it goes straight down my throat. I end up repeating that several times...

@crimsonpanther8/">@@crimsonpanther8: Three or four, but don't do them all at once. Take it one shot at a time. :-D
@electricangler32/">@@electricangler32: Don't worry, you won't pull any threads out. Just grab a mirror and keep tinkering. I actually ended up trimming one of those little white threads—the ones that are supposed to just fall off on their own—because I was convinced it looked like a damn booger hanging out of my nose.

Sorry, I misunderstood. 😉 I do the same thing.
I take those small, non-sterile gauze pads, roll them up, and use them to clean out nasal passages. That’s how I did it with my kids when they were little; it's much gentler.
My nose is finally clear now, and there's almost no more congestion, thank God. During the day, I use a saline spray from a NeilMed bottle because I constantly feel this dryness right in the middle... do any of you get that sensation?

As long as the nose stays clear, right? haha. I get this crazy dry feeling sometimes—maybe it’s the heater running constantly, or maybe just the air moving more through the house lately, who knows. Honestly, I don't overthink it too much. But I always make sure to slather on some Vaseline before bed. I used to be so paranoid about going outside because it was freezing out, and I knew that cold air would just sting my nose like crazy.

Ugh, reading all your stories about cleaning... haha. Honestly, I'm kind of jealous you guys already got through it! I've still got two weeks to go before my turn. Ufffff!

I gotta side with you on this one; he totally gave me that same vibe. I saw some people on here claiming he’s arrogant or that you have to practically beg him for info because he’s such a man of few words... but honestly? My experience was the exact opposite! I could barely get a word in edgewise because he was busy explaining every single detail to me. (Side note: my case is a revision, which makes things pretty intense since there's an 80% chance they'll have to harvest cartilage from my rib). He really walks you through everything and gives great guidance. I think the issue with some patients is that they just bombard the surgeon with questions the second they walk in, and if you ask me, that's where it goes wrong. Don't interrupt him. Just state your problem, let him talk through the "what" and the "how," and then once he's done, go ahead and ask whatever you're confused about. Anyway, my surgery is set for February 27th, and I'll definitely share how it goes. And yeah, he’s probably the most expensive option out there. But if he does what needs to be done? It's worth every penny!

Don't sweat it. Seriously. Once you finally get to breathe easy again, you'll be so happy that everything else just fades into the background. At least that’s how it worked for me. Good luck!!

Why is everyone rushing back for a revision? Is the initial work actually that bad, or do people just decide they hate how their nose looks once it’s finished and want a do-over?

Rhinoplasty is easily one of the most complicated plastic surgeries out there. The nose is incredibly complex. Estimates suggest any surgeon will have a 5-10% revision rate. The reasons vary and are usually a mix of factors, but from what I've gathered, it often comes down to how unpredictable the healing process is. Especially when you're dealing with functional issues—that adds its own layer of complications. For instance, sometimes the septum shifts again after the initial surgery because the underlying asymmetry is built into the skull structure itself...
