electricangler32 said:The packing is out! I won't sugarcoat it—it actually hurts. Specifically that side where they were cleaning everything inside. At least there's no bleeding, which is a win.
Did anyone else experience more swelling on one side? My right side and even my eye are completely bruised and swollen.

I had equal swelling on both sides. Removing the packing wasn't painful at all; okay, it wasn't pleasant, but it wasn't pain—just pure relief to have it out.🙂Right now, the left side hurts more when touched since that's where most of the work was done...

I can handle pain, I really can, but this was next level. How long did you deal with the swelling?

Hey everyone,

So, I've finally decided to say goodbye to my oversized "pride and joy." Yeah, I'm going under the knife to get my nose done—mostly just shortening it and getting rid of this bump.

Since I don't have the luxury of wandering around town interviewing surgeons one by one, I need some straight talk. Who can I actually trust with my face if I want a decent chance of not ending up looking like a total wreck?

I'm based out of Washington, D.C., and I've set aside about $6.00 for the whole thing. Look, if I'm dropping that kind of cash, I expect a result that looks as snatched as Madonna's profile.

And please, spare me the useless, "follow your heart" or "you just have to feel a connection with the doctor" nonsense. We aren't picking out a dress for a pageant here; this is surgery.

Just give me a specific surgeon's name who can actually deliver results for under $6.00

Later,

B.

So, I’ve finally decided to say goodbye to my "big pride and joy." I'm going under the knife to get my nose fixed—mostly just shortening it and getting rid of that bump.

Since I don't exactly have the luxury of driving around town to vet every surgeon out there—time is money, after all—I want to get straight to the point. Who can I actually trust with my life? I'm looking for someone where the odds of coming out looking like a total wreck are actually low.

I'm based out of Washington, D.C.—budgeting for this surgery is going to be around... $6.00Look, if I'm going to be handing over that kind of cash, I want a nose that looks like Madonna's. Simple as that.

Look, can we please skip all that "follow your heart" nonsense? I’m not looking for some pageant advice about listening to my soul or "feeling out" a surgeon—we aren't picking a winner for Miss USA here. Just give it to me straight.

So, let's get down to brass tacks—who exactly is the right person for the job? If we're looking for someone who can actually deliver results, we need a specific name. $6.00

Hey there!

B.

Unknown — Malibu.
If you’re looking for a surgeon who actually knows his stuff—someone who can handle both the functional side and the aesthetics through closed techniques—he’s my top pick. I had my procedure with him about a month ago, and honestly, I couldn't be happier with the results. He can be a bit of a know-it-all at times—just a heads-up there—but the sheer volume of successful rhinoplasties he has under his belt speaks for itself. Before landing in his chair, I actually went to a private plastic surgeon in Washington, D.C., but looking back, I’m so glad I made the switch. Best decision ever.🙂🙂🙂

Once the cast came off, my entire nose and the area between my eyebrows were swollen. It’s been 40 days now, and I can still feel a bit of swelling right between my brows when I touch it.

Hey everyone!! I’m seeing this thread is still pretty lively, which is awesome because I actually have a few things I need to pick your brains about;
For those of you who went through surgery at a private facility and got discharged by day two—did you seriously have to pack your own pajamas and slippers? The pre-op instructions say to show up in comfortable clothes and low heels (makes sense, obviously), but I can't help wondering if they actually provide stuff there, or if I'll be walking into some sort of nudist colony. Just kidding! But seriously, what’s the actual deal with the procedure at a private clinic?.

For those of you who had surgery at a private facility and were discharged on the second day, did you need to bring things like pajamas or slippers? According to the pre-op instructions, I'm supposed to arrive at the clinic in comfortable clothing and low-heeled shoes (which makes sense), but I'm wondering if they provide those little hospital gowns, or if I should come prepared. Just joking about the gowns! But seriously, what is the actual procedure like at a private clinic?

Hi there,
Sharing my own experience from exactly one month ago. I arrived wearing light sweatpants—I made sure to choose something breathable because during my first surgery at the public county hospital, I wore heavy sweats and ended up waking up completely drenched in sweat and feeling uncomfortably hot. They provided me with slippers once I arrived. When I went into the operating room, I was just wearing the bottom half of my sweats, socks, and a loose-fitting crew neck shirt that was easy to pull over my head. Technically, I didn't even have to take the shirt off; they could have prepared me right then and there. However, the staff suggested I take it off just in case the collar got soiled during the procedure, so I wouldn't be stuck lying there in a damp shirt afterward or force them to change my clothes mid-recovery. There wasn't any intense prep work, complicated changing, or heavy sedation required; I simply showed up, completed the process, and about four hours after the surgery was finished, I was already driving myself home. Despite the fact that it was a grueling and complex five-hour operation, the whole experience felt smooth, relaxed, and most importantly, painless. Best of luck, Chris Moore3! Best regards.

Nicholas Jones58 said:Hey there,
so, looking back at my own experience from almost exactly a month ago... I showed up wearing some light sweatpants—had to, because during my first surgery at the hospital, they gave me this heavy tracksuit and I woke up absolutely drenched in sweat and roasting. They handed me their own slippers, and I walked into the OR wearing just the bottom half of my sweats, socks, and a loose-fitting crew neck tee. It was big enough to pull over my head easily without a whole production, which is great because I didn't want to be stripping down right before they prepped me. They did suggest I take it off though, just so the collar wouldn't get messy during the procedure and I wouldn't end up lying around post-op in a damp shirt. No crazy prep work, no changing into scrubs, no heavy sedatives... just showed up, got it done, and four hours later, I was on the road heading home. Even though it was a grueling, complicated five-hour surgery, the whole vibe was chill, easygoing, and most importantly, painless. Good luck, Chris Moore3! Best,

Thanks, Nicholas Jones58, I really needed to hear that! I've got a revision scheduled with my surgeon, and yeah, it’s a bit of a complex one too, but I've got a pretty good gut feeling that everything’s gonna go smoothly.
Wishing you a super speedy recovery and an awesome result in the end—though, as you know, it’s gonna be a bit of a journey.

Has anyone here actually been to see Unknown before? I'm looking for some honest feedback...🙂
I need to go in for a checkup, but honestly, I'm a little nervous about picking the right doctor so I don't end up having a repeat of my last experience.

Hi there!🙂 So, I’ve finally decided to go through with nose surgery to fix a deviated septum. Honestly, though, I’m pretty unhappy with how it looks, so I’d love to tackle the aesthetic side of things at the same time. Does anyone here have experience with surgeons at a major hospital in the area? Specifically, who would you recommend for combining functional and cosmetic work so the end result actually looks great🙂?? I'm really hoping someone can point me in the right direction—I'd be so incredibly grateful for any advice... 🙂

What the hell is going on here? Why is it so quiet all of a sudden? Is everyone just too traumatized by their last surgeon to give a recommendation? Come on, don't tell me you've all been botched...

Look, I’ve got the cash, but my nose looks like a landing strip right now. I need a surgeon, preferably someone based in Washington, D.C.

Let's go... spill your experiences.

Hey everyone! So, I had nose surgery—a septorhinoplasty—about two years ago, but now I’m dealing with this weird bone regrowth right where they broke the bridge. 🙂My surgeon suggested going back under to have him rasp it down, but he gave me the heads-up that it might just grow right back, or maybe it won't. It's a bit of a toss-up. Has anyone else here dealt with this exact thing? Is it actually worth the hassle of another surgery, or should I just leave well enough alone?

Drew Wilson2 said:WHAT IS UNKNOWN LIKE? HAS ANYONE HERE ACTUALLY WORKED WITH THEM? I’M NOT EVEN SURE IF I HAVE A REAL DEVIATION OR NOT, BUT LOOKING AT THE AESTHETICS: I HAVE A HUMP RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF MY NOSE AND IT FEELS TOO LONG, ESPECIALLY THAT TIP AREA WHERE THE BRIDGE DIVIDES. I AM TOTALLY HESITATING BETWEEN UNKNOWN AND MUNITIC. PLEASE HELP ME!!! 🤷

In my experience, Unknown is definitely the best choice when it comes to the actual shape and look of the nose, though I do suspect they are probably the most expensive option out there.🙂

Seriously, have you guys actually looked at Unknown's work? His gallery is pretty underwhelming, if you ask me.

Alright, I'm going to ask a question that’s probably been asked a thousand times already,
but what kind of drops were you guys using to help those scabs fall off??
I swung by the CVS this morning, but the name completely slipped my mind.🤔
Also, can those drops actually cause damage? I'm asking because they didn't give me anything besides saline for my nose. If those scabs haven't come off by my check-up in a week, is the doctor just going to scrape them off manually? I really want to avoid that if possible.😳

Well, I actually stopped by his studio this past Saturday, so I had a chance to look at what he was working on right there on his computer screen,🙂
and honestly, I’ve also chatted with a few other ladies here on the forum who have visited him in the past...

I ran into the pharmacy this morning but my brain just totally blanked on the name.🤔
Also, can they actually cause damage? I’m asking because all they gave me was saline to use in my nose. If those crusts aren't gone by my follow-up appointment in a week, is the doctor just going to scrape them off? I really, really want to avoid that.😳

I didn't get anything either. Just tons of saline rinses and some antibiotic ointment. Much later on, they gave me something to help moisturize the mucous membrane.
