analogbison15, once you fix your nose and skin, if you still find yourself struggling with the same old confidence issues, stop trying to solve it the same way—it’s a dead end. You need to invest some actual money and time into psychotherapy. A psychological wound earned in early childhood isn't something you can fix with a scalpel. I truly hope the nose surgery does the trick for you, though—fingers crossed.

lol who says I have confidence issues? honestly, I’ve got plenty of it—more than enough, actually...

It's just that I absolutely loathe my nose, and the second I see it, I immediately start spiraling thinking about how it looks from a profile view.
If I could just get my nose and skin sorted out, I’d be freaking ecstatic with life, seriously.

Does anyone have any positive experiences with this doctor?

But this reply I got in my email a few days ago is really bothering me :/
"We also appreciate the photos you sent over. After analyzing the images, looking at the nose from the front, we cannot guarantee that the nose can be made completely straight. Looking at the profile, we can remove the hump and straighten the nose while lifting the tip."

What do you guys think? Will my nose look good from the side once the hump is gone, shrunk, and the tip is lifted?

I have a feeling Tončić might do something similar to this (click the photo), which personally I don't like at all because the nose sticks out way too much from the face. It doesn't fit quite right, and with that part protruding above the lip, I feel like it's all just pulled too far outward. Still, your nose is a bit different, so maybe it’ll turn out better, and since your goals are different anyway, just make sure to explain exactly what you want. Emphasize what you definitely *don't* want, and obviously listen to what he says is actually possible so you know exactly where you stand. Good luck! 🙂

I definitely wouldn't want a nose like that one :/
Honestly, I’m just dreaming of having a perfectly straight, smooth profile—nothing sticking out like that tip on the guy in the photo!
Do you think it's smarter to go in for a consultation about a week beforehand, or should I just show up right at the scheduled surgery time?

I really want mine to be perfectly straight and flat, without that huge tip sticking out like the guy in this picture!
Is it better to go in for a consultation a week before, or just show up on the day of the surgery when the appointment comes?

Well, obviously you should spend as much time with the surgeon as possible before the procedure. You need to be specific and know what you actually want so you can explain it clearly, instead of just showing up and saying: "Here I am, I want a pretty nose, just tell me when to come back for surgery!" .
PS. I'm not saying he'll make your nose look exactly like my example, and he can't predict the exact outcome, but I've noticed that with most men, they aim for a nose that isn't too narrow, too small, or too "tight" against the face. Though, maybe those were just his patients' wishes. Either way, talk to him as much as you can and be clear about what you want.

I mean, I don't really know what to say about Dr. Anthony Fauci, but all I know is that he didn't do my cousin any favors. He took off the bump, sure, but he didn't actually touch the tip or the width, so she’s still stuck with that potato nose. So, honestly, he can tell you whatever he wants during those consultations, but that's just talk. The real issue is what he's actually going to do once you're on the table, and more importantly, how the whole thing is actually going to look in the end.

I’m going to be super specific with him about exactly what I’m looking for.
Honestly, I’ll be happy as long as everything turns out straight—that's really my main priority. I just hope it doesn't end up looking crooked or uneven afterward. That's a safe bet, right? 🙂

@urbanbadger1/">@@urbanbadger1 I've definitely decided to go see him—most people I talk to swear by his work and have had great results... plus, the price point actually works for my budget, which helps.

Look, man, what kind of "guarantee" are we even talking about? When you buy a toaster, a warranty just means if the thing dies, you get your money back or a replacement. A warranty doesn't mean you’re actually going to be happy with the toast it makes.

What kind of guarantees do you get in medicine? You get probabilities, not certainties. There isn't a single guarantee that you’ll walk out of surgery alive, let alone a guarantee that the results will turn out exactly how you pictured them.

It’s highly likely the procedure will fix the issue—but exactly how much, and whether you'll actually like the outcome? Even a doctor doesn't know that, and they can't.

Haha, don't sweat it too much—they're probably just trying to prep you for every possible outcome. 😁
The real thing is, don't go expecting miracles... because your nose might not turn out exactly how you pictured it. Besides, just make sure you're super clear with your surgeon about what you actually want. 🙂

Hey everyone! 🙂

Well, here I am... I had my surgery on September 9th, and now I'm heading in to get my packing removed.
Regarding my experience—honestly, I didn't spend too much time digging through the internet or lurking on this forum because I knew I’d just end up overthinking everything, right? I figured I'd just feed my own anxiety and be more terrified than I actually was if I kept snooping around.
I know you all are worried and curious, which is totally normal, but honestly, when you want something as badly as I wanted this surgery, that desire just kind of overrides all that fear and everything else...
I had a septoplasty and rhinoplasty done at the hospital.
I won't drop names publicly, but feel free to shoot me a private message if you want to ask about the surgeon or anything like that.
So, basically, I had—to put it mildly—a bit of a bump on my nose. I hated it, and I had some seriously intense complexes because of it. In crowds, I was always trying to "hide" it somehow, and taking photos from a profile view was completely out of the question—I would have literally killed whoever tried to snap a picture of me from the side! 😁
But hey, if you haven't dealt with it, you won't understand, and even though most of my friends and acquaintances were saying stuff like, "Oh, it won't even look like you," or "I can't imagine you any other way," or "It looks great on you already"—well, the problem was mine and mine alone, and that was that.
I could hardly wait for surgery day! As for how the nose actually turned out? I have no idea, and honestly, I'm not ready to think about that just yet—you know, what's done is done. 🙂
On the day of the procedure—I was actually pretty fearless! They gave me a little blue pill, maybe half of one, that really calmed my nerves. Then I had some Brufen and an antibiotic. About 40 minutes later, the nurses arrived to wheel me into the OR. I laid my head down on those white rolls on the table, and the anesthesiologist goes, "Why are you so nervous?" (You can hear the heart monitor beeping in the background...) The next thing I remember from the anesthesiologist is, "5 ml of Dormicum..." And then, boom. Done.
I woke up in a room, sitting up in bed with two nurses helping me get my shirt on... I don't remember everything I said while waking up, obviously, and I did vomit once and got a Voltaren shot in the hip, but I don't even remember that part either! 😂
In the days following, my head hasn't hurt at all, but sleeping on ice packs was definitely annoying, and the worst part? All that mucus buildup and having to constantly spit. 🙂
However... oh boy, was I swollen. Like, abnormally swollen. On the second day after surgery, I literally couldn't see ANYTHING! Even the doctor commented on how sensitive I must be since I swelled up so much... I had bruises under my eyes and on my eyelids like someone had punched me right in the face! 😁
Everything is passing now, though. The bruises are changing colors—turning red, yellow, and green—and I've lost a looooot of weight/swelling, though I'm not quite back to normal yet. So, that's pretty much the gist of it. 🙂
Anyway, I'm off to get my packing removed now, so I'll check back in later! 😛

If you are planning on undergoing surgery, make sure you communicate clearly with your surgeon about exactly what you want. Have them repeat it back to you ten times if necessary. I am currently fourteen days post-op, and during my follow-up appointment yesterday, I discovered that the most critical part of the procedure wasn't performed because the doctor assumed I didn't want it—specifically, the nasal constriction. I cannot adequately describe the heartache I feel. I committed to this entire surgical process and endured all that pain, only to end up with the exact same nose. Now, I am stuck dealing with swelling and being unable to leave my house, effectively wasting an entire year of my life since I’ve had to pause my studies at the university. It is simply unbearable. I am incredibly frustrated by my enlarged nasal tip. This is why I am telling you: coordinate thoroughly with your doctor. If you have to ask ten times, do it. I wish you all the luck in the world, which unfortunately, I did not receive.

That isn't my only concern—it's just one part of the issue. Regardless, how would you even manage to go out with such a swollen nose?

Don't sweat it too much; your nose is still going to be runny for a bit. It’s all just inflammation. Even if you did go to the hospital, it's hard to expect a doctor at a private clinic to nail every single tiny detail perfectly—especially when you're paying upwards of $5000.

Thank you. I will make an effort not to worry; I simply need to adjust, as things have felt quite overwhelming lately. Yes, I did see him, but since he was a family friend, everything was handled in such a rush that a misunderstanding occurred. On the positive side, he managed to resolve my breathing issues and the headaches I was experiencing—which were caused by some internal bone pressure.

I’m heading to see Zoran Veir at the plastic surgery clinic next week. I want to get my nose resized. I'll report back after the consultation with my thoughts on the whole thing.

Ever since I had my tampon removed, my nose has felt completely stuffed up—it’s just constant congestion. Does anyone know if there’s a specific ointment or some nasal drops that could help clear everything out a bit faster and get me feeling normal again?🙂
