In my case, there wasn't any bumpiness or unevenness after the surgery; the nose just went through phases of being more or less swollen.

In most cases, I know people who had to undergo two or three procedures to get it right. Personally, I’m seeing Glumicic for my rhinoplasty, and I’ll likely be heading back under the knife again in a year or two.

From what I can gather, the people who had their bumps removed immediately after the mold was taken were actually happy with the results and didn't end up with this issue at all.

The surgery itself went perfectly! At least, that's what they told me... everything functioned exactly as intended, and the aesthetics are following suit—my nose is finally straight. I actually got to see my nose this morning after the packing was removed, just before they put the splint on... and wow, it looks beautiful!! Even with the swelling, I am absolutely loving it!!!!!! My mom was there with me, and she is just thrilled! The whole medical team in Miami was wonderful... I honestly can't pick just one person to single out. I was incredibly nervous heading into the procedure, but the four of them (the surgeon, the anesthesiologist, the nurse, and the surgical tech) really helped me relax and kept me laughing... I truly have nothing but praise for them! They were simply lovely!
If anyone has any questions at all, please feel free to ask...

I suppose he can be a bit eccentric and perhaps a little prone to an ego trip, but honestly, I believe he did a wonderful job with my case. I’m more than happy to email photos to anyone who wants to see them—just send me your email address, as I simply can't upload them here. My profile looks sweet, maybe a bit too soft, and from the front, I don't feel like I've changed drastically. It’s true he operated on my sister, but since she wasn't looking for major changes, he followed her specific instructions very strictly. I didn't experience much pain, and the bruising cleared up completely within ten days, but I have encountered one rather unusual issue.
The skin on my nose seems to have adhered or healed directly onto the bone in one spot, making it look like a mistake from the front view. I’ve been massaging it almost maniacally, but it just won't separate. The doctor told me not to worry and that it will eventually detach on its own. I suspect if I hadn't worn the tape after the cast was removed, this might not have happened, but I guess I just had some bad luck. If anyone happens to know how I might speed up this separation—since the skin really needs to be mobile—please let me know. Any advice would be appreciated. I have another follow-up appointment tomorrow, so he will likely give it a firmer massage then.
I suppose nothing worth having comes without a bit of struggle, huh...
Best regards to everyone,

However, I've run into a bit of an issue with a tooth—specifically one of my molars. Because it’s partially dead, a little abscess has formed at the root, and it's actually starting to affect the gum line. Now I'm wondering, is it okay to take antibiotics, like Augmentin, before my surgery?
I was thinking about just trying to calm the inflammation down now and then dealing with the full dental work after the surgery, since the nose is my top priority right now.
Betty Edwards22 said:It’s possible—but you really need to get that inflammation down before the surgery takes place.
The only real way to know for sure is to have a dentist take a look at the actual condition of that specific tooth.

It’s been three months since my surgery, and I suppose the peak is still a bit swollen. I’m really hoping that little bump at the top will eventually subside, but as for my profile—from the moment the mold was removed—it looks pretty good, or at least that’s how it seems to me...
briskbison12 said:Exactly. A dentist really needs to weigh in here, but since it’s the weekend and everything is closed until Monday, I’m just taking an antibiotic on my own. Based on past experience, I always end up using Augmentin—or whatever they’re calling it now, Klavophar. I'm strictly taking it to calm down the inflammation so things don't get worse, or hopefully, by Monday, it'll be "settled" enough so they can actually go ahead and pull the decayed tooth.
My biggest worry is whether the antibiotic will interfere with the actual surgery prep. I really don't want to have to redo all my blood work and tests if I can help it.

Like, when I put on some Chapstick and try to spread it across my lips, I feel this pulling sensation—kind of like everything is too tight. And I can actually see the area near the columella stretching 🙂 It’s driving me crazy... I'm wondering if it's because the tip is lifted too much, and if this is just going to pass?
briskmason42 said:Can someone explain why my upper lip feels a bit too lifted after surgery? For example, when I apply some Chapstick and try to rub it across my lips, I feel this pulling sensation, almost like the skin is being stretched tight. I can actually see the area near the columella tightening up while I do it. 🙂It’s honestly driving me crazy, and I’m wondering if it’s because the tip is lifted too much or if this feeling will eventually go away?
Betty Edwards22 said:It might be because one pulls on the other to facilitate scar tissue formation—but even that can be "stretched" out. Essentially, Shaquille O'Neal serves to hold the new position in place until the scar tissue takes over the heavy lifting.
neonstag63 said:So, when did you actually have the surgery? It’s perfectly normal to feel that tightness—you have to wait for the tip to settle, and that process simply takes time. 🙂
briskmason42 said:It’s been 17 days since my surgery and honestly... I feel like a total pig. My nose looks so thick and swollen, and it's just constant—it really bothers me, plus that tight, pulling sensation won't quit... 🙂

Don't sweat it—I honestly felt like an idiot for the first month myself. Every time I tried to laugh, my lip would pull up in this totally unnatural way, creating this weird line under my nose and making my philtrum look super pronounced. Plus, everything just felt... off to the touch. But trust me, that phase passes. 🙂
Betty Edwards22 said:Give it six months—everything eventually settles into place. If the tip looks even slightly overdone right now, it’ll drop down over time.
