Hi everyone,

Has anyone here been to the New Hospital (Dubrava) for surgery lately? I’m dealing with a deviated septum, but I was actually thinking about getting some cosmetic work done at the same time, so I'm really curious to hear about your experiences.

Thanks so much! 🙂

Greetings, everyone. I underwent nose surgery on October 28, 2014, following a diagnosis of a multi-fragmentary fracture of the nasal bone. While the recovery has progressed reasonably well, I am increasingly concerned because the area remains noticeably thickened and appears significantly larger than its original state. My surgeon assured me that everything should return to a completely normal appearance within two months, yet the process is moving at an agonizingly slow pace. 😢I am curious if anyone else here has experienced a similarly prolonged swelling period that eventually subsided?

Lisa Reyes58 said:Does anyone have experience with nose surgery performed by Dr. Ignatovski? I noticed the standard price is around 13 $0.00, and while there are some before-and-after photos, I am looking for actual feedback from patients or those who have heard firsthand accounts. Here are some nurses who had their noses done by him; they look quite good after just one month.

I found this information about him online, which seems promising given his extensive years in the field:

"He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Chicago School of Medicine, passing his final exams in 1980. He subsequently completed postgraduate studies and defended his master's thesis, 'selection of drainage operations in solving exogenous secretion in experimental pancreas transplantation,' in 1989 at the University of Chicago School of Medicine.

As an aesthetic surgeon, Mr. sci. Bojan Ignatovski completed his specialization in plastic-reconstructive surgery at the University of Chicago School of Medicine, where he passed his final boards to become a certified plastic surgeon. He also underwent specialized aesthetic surgery training in France.

Aesthetic surgeon Mr. sci. Bojan Ignatovski has been living and practicing in Des Moines since 1991. In 1992, he opened the first aesthetic surgery clinic in America, and since 1997, he has owned and directed the polyclinic for surgery, gynecology and plastic surgery. "

Give him a wide berth.

So, where's the best place to get a nose job in the US, in Glumich's office or somewhere else? And is the price roughly $2,000?

Hey, quick question—does insurance cover a deviated septum surgery regardless of how bad it is?
Since I used to do a lot of kickboxing, my septum got pretty crooked—it actually looks like a little "C" from the outside now. I haven’t actually seen a specialist yet, so I have no clue what’s going on inside.
It doesn't really bother me day-to-day, but whenever I go out for a run, breathing gets a bit rough.
As far as looks go, I'm not looking for a makeover or anything—I just want to straighten the septum so my nose goes back to how it was before.

Through Medicare, yes. It doesn't matter how you ended up with the deviation; if you have one, they'll operate. Just be prepared to wait six months to a year, but they will do it.🙂

Thanks for the reply!
So, I guess I should probably start getting my checkups done now—that way I can finally get my nose sorted out by this time next year :P.

Hey everyone!
So, I'm just another one here dealing with a nose job gone wrong... fell on my face as a kid, which left me with a deviated septum and an ugly bump. Finally decided to fix it since breathing was becoming a massive struggle. Had the surgery done at Mayo Clinic—made a deal with the doctor to take care of the bump while he was in there too. Well, the aesthetic part? Total disaster. Breathing is way better, sure, but the bump is gone and now my nose looks even worse than before... kind of like this photo, except mine tilts to the right and the tip is a bit more droopy. I am beyond frustrated. The doctor mentioned a revision surgery to fix it, but honestly, I don't trust him anymore. Not sure what to do—probably my only move is to save up enough cash and find a private specialist.🙂

As for where to go—you really ought to look into that on an individual basis.

In your case, we're looking at an obstructive septal deformity caused by trauma, which carries a clear medical indication for correction. That said, everything will become much clearer once you've had a formal consultation.

Hi everyone,
I had nose surgery three months ago... I'm wondering if anyone else has dealt with a terrible smell (calling it a stench might be more accurate) coming from their nose? I went in for a follow-up recently, and the doctor suggested that (it seems?) all the sutures have dissolved. He didn't give me any real answers regarding this specific issue... If anyone has experienced this, please let me know if it's normal. Thanks for the help.

Sinuses? Are you breathing through both nostrils equally?

My breathing is fine, but I should mention my nose has been constantly running... for about a month now, and it feels like that unpleasant odor is coming from my left nostril more than usual.

Go get checked out to make sure you haven't developed an infection through a tooth canal. I know someone who dealt with this exact issue after surgery, only to find out they had opened up a canal from a tooth, allowing bacteria to leak through. That’s why she was smelling that stench.

If I could ask one more thing—is there ever a situation where you shouldn't do osteotomies to narrow the nose? Thanks!

Since Betty Edwards22 is totally ghosting me, does anyone know when they actually advise against getting osteotomies to narrow the nose?
If anyone here has actually had surgery with Livije Kalogjera, could you please reach out? I’d love to hear about your experience—feel free to just shoot me a private message if that's easier!

Hey everyone, does anyone have any info or personal experiences with doctors at the hospital in San Diego? Private clinics are fine too. 🙂

Hey Betty Edwards22, hope you don't mind me jumping in with a quick question or two for you! 🙂

I'm dealing with symptoms pretty similar to what Chloe Gray5 described—we even play the same sport! 😁
Breathing gets super rough whenever I'm out running, and even just walking fast really hits me. Now, unlike Chloe Gray5, my septum is relatively centered, but I've got these ridges on both sides, plus a history of breaking my nose a few years back. It feels like ever since that break, I've been getting hit with sinus infections way more often. I was wondering, can I actually link these constant sinus issues back to that old nasal fracture? And if I go through with the SP, should I expect those sinus problems to chill out? Just asking generally, obviously—I know you can't give me a definitive answer without getting a good look inside my lovely nasal passages. 😁

So, I’m exactly two months out from my surgery, and of course, I just had to catch this nasty flu—my nose is swollen like crazy right now. Has anyone else dealt with something similar?
It honestly feels just like how I looked immediately after the operation (and back then I was dealing with that fibrous tissue too), so I have this sinking feeling that it’s going to take forever for the swelling to finally go down. 😢
