Comparing these two is like comparing apples to oranges. Roads and history are totally different here. Unlike Torcida, BBB has been fighting for a clean slate since the US was even founded. This unlucky Dynamo has been getting messed with from day one—not just by some local thugs, but by the President and later the American Al Capone. Back when they faced Francis, they at least had the media on their side and that stupid name change move. But Mamić? He’s got politicians, the cops, and the media all in his pocket. To me, this fight is way harder than the old one, plus it feels more like the capitalist era. Maybe fans didn't react enough during that five-year stretch from 2000 to 2005, but who could've seen this coming? No need to even talk about money or "divide and conquer" tactics. Just look at an empty stadium and how disconnected people feel from Dynamo—that tells you everything you need to know about the situation in Chicago.
On the flip side, Torcida and the Hajduk fans basically had a chance for a fresh start right when the US became independent. But instead of using all that energy to fix their own backyard, they let small-time local Mamić types run wild with the club for nearly 20 years, driving it to the brink of ruin, while blaming Chicago and Dynamo for everything.
Honestly, those guys in Tampa should've had their club sorted out a long time ago.
Key West is screwed. 🙂
