First off, I’d like to send a quick greeting to all the mods and admins. I’ve been a member of this forum since 2006, and honestly, I’ve never had a single issue or complaint. I participate in several different subforums and have never caused trouble or, heaven forbid, gotten banned. Everything was going great until I started posting in the PDF files—specifically the Suleiman the Magnificent thread. Suddenly, I started getting penalty points and bans. At first, I was actually notified about why I might get banned, so I did my best to follow the rules and stay within the guidelines. Sometimes I’d drift into Off topic during conversations with others, but everyone else does that too. Why am I the only one being targeted? Eventually, I got banned without anyone giving me a concrete reason. The mods complained to the admins, and I ended up with a Parcial. What’s the actual issue here? It’s blatant moderator bias. Some of them are obsessed with the show, and their favorite female character is basically their idol. Anyone who loves or defends that character gets special treatment and total leniency, while the strictness is only reserved for those of us who don't agree. There are plenty of other users feeling this same discrimination. It’s gotten so out of hand that one of the mods openly chats with their friends and nothing happens. We could easily prove it if they didn't delete the chat logs first. I’m asking for my Parcial to be removed and for everyone to be treated with equal tolerance rather than favoritism. It’s unacceptable that user Angela Edwards66 has to fear a ban just because the main female lead calls her something like huremkuretina, yet on the flip side, the main male lead is called a slut and nobody says a word. There isn't even a warning, let alone a ban. Admins, please step in and stop this unchecked behavior from moderators who just aren't being objective.

Greetings, everyone!

wiredwolf442, I’m truly sorry about how everything went down; I didn't manage to catch every single thing being said before your ban kicked in...

Ever since I first joined this forum, I've been met with nothing but negativity, mostly because of my username. I just picked it on a whim without realizing what kind of vibe people would associate with Angela Edwards66; I chose it simply because she's an actress I'm dying to see reprise her role after playing Eysan...

I ended up getting flagged because I hadn't read the rules—which happens to everyone, really. But fine, my mistake...

Then came the warnings, even though I have never once personally insulted another member. Last night, Riviera addressed me quite strictly regarding what I wrote about Abraham; they thought everything was perfectly clear, whereas I meant that *my own* opinion was crystal clear, not necessarily everyone else's perspective. And naturally, the insults followed, yet nobody bothered to say a word...

I’ll be blunt: I feel like I’m doing the same job our moderators do, and I know all too well that moderation requires being objective and treating every member equally, which is something I’m just not seeing here. Without wanting to be offensive, I understand how one should behave whether you're a regular member or a moderator, so I'm asking the mods to please take a step back, look at the whole situation, and try to see things from our side. You've supported them despite their insults toward other characters in Suleiman the Magnificent, and they're even allowed to keep doing it in this new thread, yet I was the first one warned by a moderator to stop using a certain derogatory term for their favorite character, so I had to cut it out. Meanwhile, other members keep calling Abraham a slut, or Mahi, or Mahnitalan, or Mahinalan, and they don't get a thing... I've already figured out how things work here, and it's definitely not like other forums where moderators are supposed to be impartial and not play favorites with specific teams or groups. We're just asking for some understanding; this wasn't an insult, just a suggestion from us...

You’d probably respond to this with your favorite little catchphrase: "Oh, come on, stop embarrassing yourself." Over the last two months on Soap, you’ve racked up a record-breaking pile of warnings from several different moderators. It’s not because you’re some special case we’ve singled out; it’s because every single one of your posts is either trolling, insulting other users, going Off topic, breaking the PDF file rules, or—if I recall correctly—spoiling things. We have reached a unanimous decision: we don't want you on Soap because you flat-out refuse to communicate like a civilized human being.

And please, spare us the fairy tales about how "the moderators are biased because they watch the show and root for Hurem" or "they targeted me while everyone else does whatever they want and their friends get special treatment." Even God is bored of those stories. As you admitted yourself, you’ve been warned multiple times and explained exactly why you received a warning or a strike, yet you chose to keep doing exactly what you were doing. By the way, just for the sake of transparency since you brought it up—you were causing trouble long before this, which is painfully obvious to the mods when looking at your collection of older strikes. Why you decided to start making life difficult specifically here on Soap, only you know that. The Parcial stands. That doesn't mean it has to be forever, though. Show a little willingness to actually follow the rules and show some understanding, and after some time, we will gladly consider lifting it.

Angela Edwards66 said:You guys all backed them up when they were insulting other characters in the Suleiman the Magnificent series, and apparently, that’s allowed in this new thread too, yet I’m the first one getting a warning from some moderator just for using a certain derogatory nickname for their favorite character, so I had to stop. Meanwhile, everyone else keeps calling Abraham a total slut, or Mahi, or Mahnitalan, or Mahinalan, and they don't get anything. I think I’ve figured out how things work here, and yeah, it’s clearly not like other forums, because I know all moderators are supposed to be impartial toward every member and shouldn't be playing favorites with any specific group or clique. We’re asking for some understanding here; it wasn't meant as an insult, just a suggestion from our side.

I guess I’ll step in here and add my two cents.
Like I already mentioned in the thread, the moderators (myself included) aren't actually against you giving an actor a nickname based on the character they play, provided it stays within the realm of a decent discussion and doesn't cross the line into being totally unhinged or low-class.

I see people reaching for nicknames like Mahinalan or just straight-up calling him a slut. Almost everyone is using one of those labels for Mahidevran or Abraham. It’s basically become the standard on this thread to call a character a slut because he cheats on his wife and has a kid with a mistress that he hides for years.
None of the mods ever told anyone they couldn't do that. 🤷

Now, just to be clear, I’m not saying it’s "good" to use those kinds of names—honestly, everything would be better if we just called the characters by their actual names—but we aren't going to go around banning 80% of the users just because they called Abraham a slut.

As for you, Angela Edwards66, you’ve basically started acting like Hurem on this forum by calling her Huremkuretina.
That nickname isn't just trashy, it’s also factually off-base regarding who the character actually is in the show (and look, I’m not defending Hurem, I’m just stating what happens in the plot), but more importantly, I kept getting reports on posts like that.
I warned you not to use such an inappropriate nickname during a general discussion on the forum.

And to touch on what ambermason16 mentioned, honestly, these accusations that "someone doesn't like us" just because you prefer a certain character are completely baseless.
For every single warning issued, there’s a post that shows whether that warning was actually justified or not.
Nobody on the television forum or anywhere else on this site hands out warnings just because they feel like it or because they prefer one character over someone else.

@ambermason16/">@@ambermason16

It’s really not true that I’m trying to spoil things, insult anyone, or act like a troll. I was doing that at the very beginning before I actually read through the rules. Later on, I occasionally drifted into Off topic territory. Is that really enough reason to get banned and hit with a Parcial? To be fair, I did pick up a few warnings on other PDF files in the past, but that was honestly just because I didn't know better. Once I realized what the issue was, I stopped doing it. Since you have the authority, you should check my history on those other PDFs—you'll see there's a huge gap in favor of your side.

You claim you aren't biased? There’s one user who calls the main male lead a slut every single time. She should have been sanctioned a long time ago.
Why didn't you give a warning to your colleague Blood dim? If you missed it, your coworker went way off track yesterday and spent the whole time chatting with a few people who agree with him. Of course I'm going to think you guys are biased when @northernpilot2/">@@northernpilot2 and @Sandra Adams66/">@@Sandra Adams66 are openly gushing about Hurem. You can clearly see how the opposing side writes such nasty and insulting things, yet nobody gets sanctioned.
The fact that only a handful of people are left posting shows how much this topic has been ruined. Most of them are just people supporting the main female lead. There used to be so many more people involved, and the discussions were great. That is, until the biased mods took matters into their own hands. Admins, please look into this situation.

It looks like the biased dim has surfaced again. These complaints always seem to come from the exact same group—the same people you enjoy chatting with. Just yesterday, someone actually sent me a DM asking why you get to chat away without any issues. If I had done something similar, I would have been banned instantly. So, apparently, calling Abraham a slut is perfectly fine? Sorry, but that kind of language is just completely out of line. You can't claim that calling someone huremkuretina is rude while acting like being a slut is some acceptable way to express yourself. Besides, Ibrahim Jr. only had one girlfriend, not a whole harem, so there's really no reason to label him that way.

wiredwolf442 said:Why didn't you just hand out a ban card to your buddy Blood dim? If you missed it, your pal went totally Off topic yesterday and was just chatting away with a few people who agree with him. Of course I'm gonna think you guys are biased when @northernpilot2 and @Sandra Adams66 are openly posting all this sympathetic stuff about Hurem. You guys clearly see how the other side is being nasty and insulting, yet absolutely nobody is getting sanctioned.

Look, discussions, conversations, even the chat—as you call it—are never banned as long as they actually relate to the topic, the show, or the characters involved. In fact, it's encouraged.
Anyone talking about the series and the cast within the designated thread is more than welcome here.
People are just commenting on what's happening in the show and sharing their opinions; that isn't "ruining the thread" like your constant trolling does.

You’re sending private messages threatening to derail threads, calling the moderators evil and corrupt, and straight-up insulting users via PMs (which have been reported and are visible), and then you have the nerve to ask for your Parcial status to be lifted?
Right now, I don't see a single good reason to grant that, but hey, like I said, if you actually prove you've "cleaned up your act" down the road, the Parcial might be lifted. But for now, it was a unanimous decision and it’s staying.

so apparently it's perfectly fine to call Ibrahim a slut. Sorry, but that kind of language is totally beneath any level of decency. You can't claim that calling someone Huremkuretina is uncivilized while acting like calling him a slut is some peak form of expression. And let's be real, Ibrahim Jr. had one mistress, not a whole damn harem, so there's no reason to call him that.

Like I just mentioned above, it's way better to just call the characters by their actual names and avoid those kinds of nicknames altogether.
Since we're on the subject, we haven't actually received a single report for the nickname "slut," but for Huremkuretina I've been getting reports every single time someone stumbles upon a post using that specific name.

That's pretty much everything I have to say on the matter. 🙂
Greeting

I’m reaching out once again to ask the admins to step in regarding the mods' recent overreach. I could easily call out the specific users who are constantly reporting posts—the same ones posting garbage while getting a free pass themselves. Honestly, feel free to pull up my last few posts so we can all see why they thought a ban was necessary. I didn't spoil anything, I wasn't being rude, and I definitely wasn't trolling. Every single thing I wrote was directly related to the show and what actually happened on screen. Despite that, I still got banned, which feels like a total move to push me out.

Come on, just look at my trolling comments if you want proof. I’ve also posted about the characters and the show before. Once I got past that initial phase, I stopped breaking the rules and started participating in discussions without any insults. What’s the big deal? Specifically, I did send you a private message calling you bad and corrupt because I ended up with a Parcial because of you. In effect, I said I was going to ruin the thread. Stop twisting my words from that one comment. As you can see, there isn't some clone of mine out there wrecking the discussion.
Great, from now on, just ban anyone who calls Abraham a names.

wiredwolf442, I’m standing right there with you... honestly, you’re one of the few people here who actually approached this series with an objective lens. It’s obvious you aren’t just some Hurem fanboy—just like me—but you stayed realistic about the rest of the cast. Usually, if someone says they don't like Hurem, people just assume they’re going to blindly side with Abraham in everything, but you didn't fall for that.
I feel like certain people have completely trashed this thread, which used to be a place I actually looked forward to visiting. Now? Not a single episode goes by without everyone worshiping Hurem, even when she does something totally uncalled for. Meanwhile, they won't stop dragging Abraham and Mahidevran through the mud, even when they haven't done a thing wrong. And those nicknames—especially the ones aimed at Abraham—are just straight-up low.
As for the trolling, if you ask me, the biggest trolls are the ones who cheer for every single move Hurem makes. At this point, I don't think it's even about liking a specific character anymore; it feels like a deliberate provocation just to stir the pot and rack up warnings and bans... Look, we’re all human, and sure, sometimes we say things we shouldn't when we're worked up, but some people actively push for that kind of chaos. That’s exactly why the first thread had to be shut down during the holiday break.
And regarding the off-topic stuff and the spamming—it seems like the reaction is most intense on the Suleiman thread. Every time I open the Force thread, I often find several pages dedicated entirely to Cans or Mehmet, even though they have their own dedicated threads! But the second anyone brings up a bit of historical context on the Suleiman thread, they immediately get slapped with an off-topic warning.

I’d love to hear from @bhea too, since she was the one who gave me a strike just because I asked on the Force thread why someone had pulled the episodes from that streaming site and where else I could watch the show online—especially since a few other people were commenting on it there... Truth be told, it wasn't like I got a massive amount of penalty points for it, but I still want to know: why was my question treated like off-topic spam?

People sharing their thoughts on the plot isn't "derailing the thread" quite like your relentless trolling...

I just pointed out above that it would be much better if we stuck to the actual names of the characters instead of using those nicknames...
While we're on the subject, I haven't seen a single report filed for the term "slut," yet whenever someone posts something containing Huremkuretina, I end up getting reports myself...

In the future, if I see Abraham being referred to by that nickname, I’ll be filing a report to see if the post gets pulled or if the people using it get a warning—just like how you, Blood dim, warned me about Hurem, even though I wasn't using some alternative name, but rather the exact same thing you used for Abraham, only she happens to be female...

And please, there is a massive difference between engaging in normal commentary and simply trying to provoke other forum members...

Look, as much as I enjoyed this at first—and please, don't bring Suleiman the Magnificent into this—I have to admit I've been pretty unhappy with the vibe here lately. It honestly sucks because I was actually looking forward to discussing every new episode, and it would be a real shame if I had to stop commenting altogether. It’s totally normal for cliques to form in a discussion thread since we all see the show through different lenses, but what I can't stand is the constant badgering some of us face from others. No matter what you write, people just mock you or try to bait you into a fight. It’s gotten to the point where I actually hesitate before typing anything because I didn't come here to get bullied. I'm starting to wonder if certain people are just straight-up trolls—you know, the type who defend one specific character no matter what, lack any sense of objectivity, and just relentlessly attack anyone else. If you dare say one thing against the lead character, there isn't even a debate; it’s just an immediate ambush. I even got hit with a few penalty points myself because I was told "don't make it personal," yet when I reported a post where I was personally targeted, I have no idea if anything was actually done.
Then there’s the whole issue with "off-topic" comments being strictly forbidden—which is why our thread was locked and why some of us got warnings—even when the off-topic stuff is actually about the show or historical facts, like what Blood dim mentioned. Last night, I noticed that even the moderator and a handful of others drifted into off-topic territory again, but of course, nobody was warned and nothing was deleted.
It also really bothers me how Angela Edwards66 is specifically targeted. Whatever she writes, it seems to rub people the wrong way, and they immediately jump on her with mockery and provocation. We all have a right to our own opinions, right? It feels like some people are actively trying to rack up as many warnings or bans as possible just to reach their ultimate goal.
And then we get to the nicknames used for characters. If calling someone Huremketina is considered offensive because of what it implies, then what about the other slurs being thrown around? Or being called "mahnitalan"? I haven't seen the moderators call those out; they only stepped in because that first nickname carries negative connotations and needs to stop. The other insults are allowed and used constantly. Like Angela Edwards66 said, I might start reporting the other names too, just to see if anyone actually reacts.
wiredwolf442—look, even if one or two of his posts were a bit much, I still back him up because he was one of the rare ones actually trying to stay objective. But when the entire thread is geared toward inciting fights and farming penalties, it’s hardly surprising he ended up banned.

I’m asking the moderators to please clean this place up. Like wiredwolf442 pointed out before, there used to be so many more comments and active contributors here. Now, everything feels watered down because, frankly, people don't feel comfortable participating anymore—and I certainly don't.

The moderators here spend hours every single day on this thread. It’s just like any other American TV drama craze—I have no idea why this phenomenon seems exclusive to these shows, but it happens. After just three posts, cliques start forming, and then for the next several months, they spend all their energy bickering with rival factions. It is nearly impossible to keep a lid on it.

Regarding the insults thrown at characters: let me be crystal clear once and for all: that does not violate forum rules. Hurem is a fictional character. If someone wants to call her Hurkurvetina, that says everything about that person's upbringing and nothing else. It shouldn't lead to a ban, nor should a fictional character need a dedicated squad of defenders who spend ten posts complaining about what's allowed and reporting "insults." Insults are directed at forum members, not ink on a screen. Cliques are allowed and actually quite normal, but if you're going to have them, the goal should be healthy debate. Prove why your hero or heroine is right or positive by using actual plot points from the show, rather than just attacking people from the opposing side with stuff like, "How can you possibly support Mahidevran?"

Generally speaking, you guys are spending way too much time obsessing over each other and not enough time discussing the show itself. That is exactly how we end up with problems, arguments, provocations, and eventually, infractions. It’s completely unnecessary. The series alone provides more than enough material for a decent discussion. We aren't looking to hand out bans, delete posts, or babysit you all like you're toddlers. Why on earth would we want that kind of headache? 🤷

Angela Edwards66 said:In the future, when I see Abraham being addressed like that, I'm going to file a report. Let's see if the post gets removed and if those writing it get a warning.

Please, don't bother. Because it won't happen.

wiredwolf442 didn't get his partial ban because he was favoring some character in the show or because he had an opinion. He got hit because he was insulting other users and trolling, not to mention he was breaking several other site rules (and I really don't feel like listing the whole damn catalog here).
In the meantime, he’s gone gray—meaning he’s been banned—because he just wouldn't stop violating the forum guidelines. It speaks for itself.

quietbison86 said:I was hoping Sandra Adams66 would weigh in on this. She gave me a warning because I asked in the Force thread why someone wiped the episodes from that streaming site and where else I could watch the series online, especially since a few people were already commenting about it there... To be fair, I didn't get many penalty points, but I still genuinely want to know why my question was flagged as off-topic or spam?

Does this have anything to do with wiredwolf442's complaint regarding his partial ban on the PDF file and the alleged bias of the moderators over in the "Suleiman the Magnificent" thread? Nope. If you want to know why a post was deleted or why you got a warning, you send the moderator a private message. If you don't hear back within a reasonable amount of time, you can bring the question to this thread (it's all laid out in the TV subforum rules), or you can appeal a warning on this one.
Naturally, the PŽK has its own set of rules that you should probably read before jumping into a discussion.
PS.
Check your PMs.

Angela Edwards66 said:From now on, whenever I see people addressing Abraham like that, I’m going to file a formal report. We'll just see if the post gets nuked and if the people typing that stuff get a warning, just like how you, Blod dim, warned me about Hurem. I didn't even use some other weird name; I used the exact same thing you used for Abraham, except she's a woman.

And please, look, there is a massive difference between just commenting on something and straight-up trying to provoke other people on this forum.

Angela Edwards66, when you first started calling Hurem Huremkuretina, it honestly isn't true that you were being threatened or intimidated with a ban, regardless of what wiredwolf442 claims in that first post.
I mean, yeah, I did warn you that such a name wasn't appropriate, but now that I think about it, that didn't happen over on the PDF file section, it was actually in the Offtopic area, and that's where the reports were coming in, though I guess that doesn't really matter right now.

Anyway, ambermason16 mentioned she had some issues regarding those nicknames, and I mean, I totally agree with her, so I don't really have anything else to add to that.

The reports were being filed via PDF files—there was a clear warning posted saying you shouldn't insult the characters—but despite all that, people just kept going at certain characters anyway. Now, suddenly, it’s perfectly fine to slap nicknames on everyone regardless of who they are? And somehow, we’re the ones getting blamed for it, even though warnings were already put up regarding certain users before?
Clans are allowed, and honestly, I welcome them because they actually help people understand the series better. But what’s happening in this thread isn't "better understanding" or even a healthy debate. It’s just constant provocation and picking fights every single day. We aren't even discussing the show anymore—we're just dealing with unhinged, baseless posts like "my character is better just because I say so" or "how could you possibly support XY." We aren't children,

Only the three of us were participating in the Offtopic section, and we didn't get a single warning—honestly, I thought whoever reported us would at least have the decency to show up in the thread. But then, suddenly, people are getting warnings over the Soap thread just because of their nicknames, and now everything is apparently fair game again. I just want to know if anyone is actually going to do anything about the complaints we filed.
