Someone recommended this build to me. What’s the verdict?

NVIDIA GeForce GTX equivalent paired with an ASUS Z87 equivalent motherboard—featuring a Z87 chipset equivalent, D3, S3 Graphics equivalent, USB 3.0 equivalent, DVI, and an AMD Ryzen 7?

Stick with NVIDIA if you're planning on doing any photo or video editing. Which Ryzen 7 are you running? Or are you still in the middle of putting a build together? If you're just starting out, why not start a new thread with your budget in mind? That way, we can throw some solid recommendations your way.

The build is already put together, I’m just stuck on the GPU choice. This guy gave me a recommendation saying I won't regret it... he suggested the $333 but I really don't want to blow my budget any further. One of those other two options isn't even in stock anymore, and the other feels like overkill since I had to shell out for an SSD, so I'll probably just stick with the 😢

Look, finding one isn't an issue—you can find options up to $1,000
At the very least, you could grab a Radeon HD equivalent or even the 2GB version of the same card

Or if you want more kick, go for the Radeon HD equivalent Ti with 2GB of VRAM

If you really want to step it up, look at the Radeon HD equivalent Ti Boost

Having 2GB would definitely be useful if you plan on running multiple monitors or working with higher resolutions beyond standard 1080p.

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX equivalent is a solid buy for gaming, but if you're actually serious about video editing, stick to one of those better options mentioned above.

Hi everyone, does anyone happen to know what the most powerful graphics card would be that I could actually run on this P5G41T-M LX motherboard?
Thanks.

It’ll work as long as you have an available PCI-e slot. It would be much more helpful if you could just tell me the specific model of your power supply and which processor you're running.

I’m thinking a 400-watt power supply should be plenty, especially since my current CPU is just an Intel Pentium dual-core running at 3 GHz.
I'd eventually want to swap that out, but I know that would mean upgrading the motherboard too, so I'll probably just have to pick up one of those mid-range processors from Intel down the road.

Hey there

My old PC just lost its graphics card—RIP. I'm rocking a Core 2 Duo E7200 and a 400W Fortron power supply.
The old card was an HD3870. What would be a total "best buy" here? I need something at least on par with that old 3870—nothing super cheap or bottom-of-the-barrel for $67. Is it even worth buying anything new, or should I just hunt for deals on eBay?

As for $67 the new stuff, you’re probably stuck with just the absolute bottom-of-the-barrel options, if you can even find those. I guess you might have to look at the used market instead.

My bad, I misspoke—I’m looking for something in the $75 range where I actually get my money's worth, not just grabbing the cheapest junk from $67 that ends up being total garbage

This is probably your best bang for your buck:

It’s significantly more powerful than an HD 3870... I guess.

EDIT:

alright, is there a cheaper way to go about this? most of my younger cousins are using that PC for Minecraft right now—it's not exactly high-end gaming—and honestly, saving some cash is always a win 🙂

Honestly, don't even bother; there's no point in settling for something weaker. You might save a tiny bit of change, but you'll be losing way too much performance elsewhere.

Here’s one that’s slightly cheaper:
7730

But if you want my advice, just grab the more powerful 7750.

Whichever of these two you decide to pick up, just make sure it's the DDR5 version.

I’m currently rocking a GeForce 4650 with 1GB of DDR2. I want to upgrade to something beefier, ideally through a trade-in if anyone is interested. I can put up about $117 on top of my current card. Any recommendations?

Just sell that card—if you can actually find a buyer—you might walk away with something like $67.

I'll give it a shot if I can find a buyer. I see people on eBay moving them for around 250-$100. Which GPU should I pair it with? So, on top of those $67, I'd be looking at an extra $117

Sure, they're selling, but don't count on getting those prices. If you list it for 150 up to $67, you might actually have a shot at moving it...

Alright, so which one should I go with? I've got about $167 in total, so I need this specifically for gaming
