Man, I am feeling incredibly confident about this one hitting!

The line already dropped down to 1.6, though.
Well, if you bet on it, you bet on it!

ps. these are just some wild swings, obviously.

Main ticket

Deng over 15.5 @ 1.85
-Some people doubt him—whatever—but I’m taking him. Rose isn't playing at full strength given his injury history, and his recent home performance supports the over (scored 22 against DAL, 16 against MIA, 19 against NYK, 26 against BOS, 24 against HOU, and 20 against DET in his last six home games)
James over 27.5 @ 1.85
-He's been resting a bit lately, so he might be back to that level where he consistently drops 27+ points. In head-to-head matchups, he's put up 29, 20, and 31 points
Anthony over 26.5 @ 1.85
-I actually expected a higher line considering how incredible he's been this past month. He dropped 39 against ATL, 35 against BOS, 42 against MIA, and 29, 43 against CHI. Anything under 30 would be a shock, especially since he's dialed in from deep with a 50% clip now
Durant over 28.5 @ 1.85
-The guy has been the league's top scorer for three years straight. Plus, with Harden's status uncertain, Durant should have plenty of open looks. He's cleared this line in four of his last five games (scoring 32, 32, 35, 29, 29), and his head-to-head numbers are 22, 23, 27, 30
Nowitzki over 22.5 @ 1.85
-Last year's playoffs saw him averaging 32.2 against OKC. He's seen limited minutes recently, but he should step it up today

Stake ☕, Favorite

I'm stuck on Durant—he hasn't cleared the line against Dallas all season. Clearly, they're shutting him down effectively🤷
Or will he just lose his mind today and drop 40? Hm?

main parlay

Deng over 15.5 @ 1.85
-I know some people are skeptical, but I'm riding with him because Rose isn't playing at full strength given his injury history, and honestly, his recent home court performance makes the over a no-brainer (over the last 6 home games he's dropped 22 against DAL, 16 against MIA, 19 against NYK, 26 against BOS, 24 against HOU, and 20 against DET)
James over 27.5 @ 1.85
-He’s been resting a bit lately, so there’s a good chance he steps back up to his usual level where he’s consistently dropping 27+ points. Looking at head-to-head matchups, he’s putting up 29, 20, and 31 points
Anthony over 26.5 @ 1.85
-I was actually expecting a higher line since he’s been absolutely killing it this past month—dropping 39 on ATL, 35 on BOS, 42 on MIA, and then 29 and 43 on CHI—so anything under 30 would be a total shock, especially since his shooting has leveled up to about 50% now
Durant over 28.5 @ 1.85
-I mean, enough said about him being the league's top scorer for three years straight, right? Plus, with Harden's status being a huge question mark, even if Harden plays, Durant should get plenty of open looks. He’s cleared this line in his last 5 games with scores of 32, 32, 35, 29, and 29, and looking at head-to-head, he's hit 22, 23, 27, and 30
Nowitzki over 22.5 @ 1.85
-During last year's playoffs, he was averaging 32.2 points against OKC. He’s played fewer minutes recently, but he should really turn it on today

bet amount ☕,Favorite

The thing that's bugging me is Durant, though... he hasn't cleared the margin against Dallas all season, so clearly they're shutting him down pretty effectively, right? 🤷
Or is he just gonna lose his mind tonight and drop 40? Hmm?

Sometimes the stats can be deceptive, but the momentum is definitely there and you have to assume he’s going to take 20+ shots. Westbrook isn't exactly clicking right now, and Harden is a massive gamble🤷, btw, Ruzica has improved by 10 points on 5-13 shooting, Deng is sitting at 9, and the only one struggling is Iggy😕

Tatum has improved—he’s hitting 10 jumpers out of 5-13, Deng is at 9, and apparently Iggy is the only one actually cooking here.😕

Yeah, Westbrook is completely out of it—someone needs to step up. And what are you even saying? The real question is how Harden is feeling. At this rate, he might not even see the rim once tonight.😁

Man, that foul looked absolutely brutal🤷, I mean, Ruzic is shooting like he's stuck at fifteen years old, but then you look at Oladipo today and he’s out there thinking he can just chuck twenty-five shots from anywhere, and you just can't compete with that kind of nonsense😍, some guys act like they have zero restraint and just swing wildly whenever they feel like it😉, and don't even get me started on Luol Deng, because after that, he couldn't hit anything if his life depended on it

So, I’m opening this up—and honestly, it would’ve been nice if the crew covering the league had actually done a squad reveal beforehand (I mean, a bit late to the party since the season kicks off tomorrow, but hey, better late than never, right?)

If things get too cluttered, we’ll spin up a new thread, but for now, just keep the discussion going right here.

So, I’m gonna try to get my write-up ready for the Southwest division (who, you know, killed it last season)... though I honestly have no clue when I'll actually wrap it up—fingers crossed I can pull it off sometime this week 😁

btw, if you guys head over to http://nba.com/, there are previews listed for every single team... just type "previews" into the search bar in the top right corner and it should pop everything up for every squad... anyway, hope the writing holds up okay 👍

Alright crew, the new season is right around the corner.
I don't think there’s much point in me rambling about all the roster moves and team changes. One of the guys already did an incredible job breaking everything down, so if it's cool to drop a link, I'll put it here so you can check out whoever you're interested in. Keith Moore21 already posted it, and it's way easier to find this way.

Shawn Marion over #12.5

While Hurricane Sandy is tearing things up on the East Coast, let's head out West to kick off the NBA season. I won't dive into all the massive roster shakeups here—you can find much more detailed breakdowns on the specialized sports sites, and I'm sure this forum will cover them thoroughly too. Instead, let’s focus on today's matchup: the Lakers versus the Mavericks. To be honest, Dallas is heading into this new season facing some serious hurdles. Dirk Nowitzki is sidelined for at least a month following knee surgery, Kaman is also battling injuries, and according to recent team reports, they’ve actually waived Delonte West due to two incidents of misconduct over the last two weeks. Word is that Curry—who was released by the Spurs and brought in just to fill out the roster—might actually have to start at center against Dwight Howard. Plus, Brandan Wright and Cunningham have both been dealing with their own injury issues. Looking at the landscape, it’s going to be a tough road for Dallas in these early stages. That said, so many teams have overhauled their rosters; everyone is still trying to find their rhythm, and plenty of squads are dealing with similar growing pains. We'll see how the dust settles and who ends up in the starting lineup.

Even though we're just getting started, Shawn Marion remains a cornerstone for Dallas. I have to take this line because, given everything else going on, it feels way too low. With the Mavericks in this kind of shape, aside from Marion, their offensive production might rely heavily on newcomers like Maya and Collison, or maybe even "Air Canada." Since Brand will be facing a brutal matchup under the rim, I'm convinced Marion needs to step up as the primary leader today—that's exactly what's expected of him given his experience and what he brings to the table. The Lakers aren't exactly without their own headaches either; Kobe's availability is always a question mark, and while Howard is still recovering, he should be making his debut in that yellow jersey. Once we get more updates on the injury reports, we'll have a clearer picture.

While Hurricane Sandy is tearing up the East Coast, we’re moving things out to the West Coast for the NBA season opener. I won't waste space rehashing all the massive trades and roster shifts—you can find much more detailed breakdowns on the specialized sports sites, and I'm sure people here on the forum have already covered it extensively. Let's focus on the current state of affairs regarding the Lakers vs. Mavericks matchup. Honestly? The Mavs are in deep trouble heading into this season. Dirk is out for at least a month following knee surgery, Kaman is also battling injuries, and according to the latest team reports, they’ve waived Delonte West—the guy James' mother knows—due to two incidents of misconduct in the last two weeks. Word is that Curry, who was cut by the Spurs and brought in just to fill a roster spot, might actually start at center against Howard. On top of that, Brandan Wright and Cunningham have both been dealing with injury issues. Looking at it objectively, it's going to be an uphill battle for Dallas in the early stages of the season. Then again, so many rosters have changed; everyone needs time to gel. Plenty of teams are facing similar growing pains, so we'll just have to see how the starting lineups shake out.

Shawn Marion is a cornerstone for Dallas even though the season hasn't even started, but I have to use this margin because, given everything mentioned above, it’s way too low. The situation in Dallas is what it is. Aside from Marion, their offensive options might fall to newcomers like Maya and Collison—maybe even Air Canada. With Brand fighting tough matchups under the rim, I'm convinced Marion has to step up today as the primary leader; after all, that's what's expected of him given his experience and value to the squad. The Lakers aren't exactly unscathed either—Bryant is predictably a question mark regarding his availability, and Howard is still recovering, though he should make his debut in the yellow jersey. Once we get more injury updates, we'll have a clearer picture.

I like this pick. Especially since Dirk is out and Terry and Kidd are off the table.🙂

Since I'm pretty new here, I figured I'd jump in and share some thoughts on the NBA...

Dallas Mavericks vs. Los Angeles Lakers (Under 187.5)

Both teams are struggling right now. For Dallas, Dirk is definitely out with that knee issue. As for the Lakers, Kobe is a huge question mark—he’s dealing with foot pain and probably doesn't want to risk a long-term injury tonight. Dwight Howard is expected to play, but he's admitted he isn't at 100% yet, which is putting it lightly since he's nowhere near his usual self...
Both squads are still trying to find their rhythm (the Lakers are sitting at 0-8 in the preseason), so honestly, I think taking the under on this massive line at 1.791 is a really solid pick...

Kobe Bryant Under 26.5 @1.85

So, Kobe messed up his right foot last Sunday (10/21) during that preseason matchup against the Kings—and now there's even doubt if he’ll suit up for the season opener tonight. Look, even if he does take the floor, don't hold your breath expecting him to carry the load. He hasn't been practicing since the injury, and honestly, he’d be crazy to push himself if that foot is still throbbing. To me, this looks like a total gift from the books, and I think it's worth taking the $70 option. Last season, Kobe was averaging about 27.9 points per game, while the Mavericks were giving up roughly 92.6 points in preseason action.

Hey everyone! 🙂

With Bryant sidelined and his status for the game looking shaky, DraftKings is still pricing him at 26.5 points with odds of 1.85. When you consider he’s a year older now and playing alongside Howard—a guy who needs constant ball dominance in his hands (and let's be clear, Kobe will benefit from Howard's presence, but more in terms of efficiency rather than sheer volume)—it becomes obvious that hitting that over at 1.85 is going to be an uphill battle for him.

Best of luck to all of you. My advice? Tread carefully as we head into this new season. Wait until the teams that underwent massive roster overhauls actually find their rhythm before you dive in (I'm looking specifically at the Lakers, Philly, and the Rockets).

Good luck once again. Cheers, 👋

Kobe Bryant hurt his right foot last Sunday (Oct 21) during a preseason game against the Sacramento Kings, so there’s even doubt if he plays in today's season opener. If he does suit up, I don't think we should expect heavy minutes, and he probably won't push himself too hard. He hasn't been practicing since then, and he might show up still playing through the pain. I guess this looks like a gift from the bookies, so maybe worth looking at $70. Last season, Bryant averaged about 27.9 points per game. The Mavericks were giving up around 92.6 points per game in the preseason.

I think you don't really know Kobe or how he handles injuries very well😁

Either he'll be asked if he's playing and then go out and play 35 minutes and drop 35 points, or he just won't play at all, in which case this bet doesn't even exist once the odds hit 1.00

He definitely won't have low minutes, though. That's just how Kobe is😉
