Finally, the NBA season is actually kicking off, so let's get right to the meat of it and drop some picks with the bookies!π
CLE/WAS Under
-The spread on this one feels way too wide when you actually look at how these teams have been playing lately, seriously.π€·The Cavs are already missing Jamison, and their main guy, Kyrie, just dropped a quick 4 triples seven days ago and somehow lost like 11 pounds in the processβso, honestly, who knows if heβll even have the gas to put up a real performance? On the Wizards side, they're gutted without Wall, whoβs basically their whole engine with those 16 points and 8 assists per game, plus theyβve got Nene out too, and the guy was killing it last half-season averaging 10. Let's look at the math: in their last four matchups, it went under, CLE has hit the under in six straight home games as favorites, and Washington closed out last season with a 6-game win streak where they only went over 85 points once. For the degens looking for more action, maybe take the Wizards outright or at least the +5.5 spread.
Miami Under 95.5
-This is basically a rematch of last year's Conference Finals where the home team basically lucked their way into a win. I haven't seen much of this new Celtics squad yet, but everyone on the sports sites and forums is buzzing about how they're even better than last year. They lost Allen, sure, but they brought in Terry, Barbosa, and Lee, plus grabbed Sullinger and Fab Melo in the draft. We all know Boston doesn't play high-scoring shootouts, and LeBron isn't even 100% fit because of that nagging injury. The under just makes sense here. If it weren't the start of the season, I might even grab the road team to win, but Iβm gonna wait until I see what they can actually do.
LAL Under 98.5
-I mean, what can you even say about a roster where the starting five is worth over $100 million a year? (They brought in Howard, Nash, and paired them with Black Mamba, Gasol, and MWP). It could be a lethal combo once they find their rhythm, but right now? They aren't even close to that. Just look at the preseasonβthey went 0-8 and didn't even crack this total once. Plus, Kobe's status is looking shaky today, so there's no way they're clearing 90, let alone hitting 100.
LeBron Under 28.5
-Like I mentioned before, he tweaked his ankle in the last preseason game, and I highly doubt he's going to push it and take 20+ shots, especially since Miami has so much depth with Wade, Bosh, and Ray Allen. Even when he's fully healthy, he hasn't been dropping 30+ on Boston consistently.
Standard units, let's hit those parlays.
That's all I got for the season opener. Good luck to everyone, hope we all cash!π.
