We might actually see a 5.5 over tonight. Those odds look pretty tempting to me; even though they haven't been playing for anything lately, they've finally found their rhythm. As for Philly, I don't even know what to say—personally, that team is just straight-up gross.

It looks like Philly is wrapping up this season exactly how they started the last one.

I don't get how you can hate them—they are essentially the prototype for cohesive team play: balanced, even-handed, and built on ten players who all contribute equally.

That’s why they’re easily in my top five favorite teams.

My ranking: Portland, Dallas, Indiana, Memphis, then Philly.

The five I can't stand:

Lakers, Knicks, Atlanta, Orlando, and New Jersey.

Given the Nets' current injury situation, I'm leaning toward Philly in tonight's matchup.

What would even be the point if everyone supported the exact same teams? If everybody cheered for the same NBA franchises and the same sports across the board, the whole thing would lose its soul. 100 people, 100 different vibes—that's just how it works. Honestly, I can't stand those mindless fanbases. They have zero creativity in their game, they look totally lost on the court, and they’ve got one supposed "All-Star" who, if you ask me, doesn't even deserve the title.

Luol Deng, Byron Mullens, and Ben Gordon all just got the call-up for the USA preliminary roster heading into the 2012 Olympics in Los Angeles.
It’s gonna be wild watching them at the Olympics.
For me, it’s New York or nothing—I don't care about any other teams.

Taking Chris Bosh under #17.5

Some people might claim I'm just hating, but if you ask me, Bosh is one of the most overrated players in the league. I won't get bogged into a long debate because everyone has different tastes, but generally speaking, I can't stand those soft forwards at the four or five spot—and Bosh definitely falls into that category. I rarely let my emotions drive my bets, so let's set aside any accusations of "hating" for a moment and look at the facts. Honestly, Bosh has a brutal matchup tonight. The Celtics know how to lock down defense, especially guys like Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett. It’s going to be tough for him to muscle his way through that duo in the paint, so he'll likely end up settling for perimeter shots. Given that the Heat aren't going to let him go on a shooting spree since he's playing alongside two absolute superstars, I think we might see a pretty modest performance from him tonight. Dwyane Wade is playing, which is great news for this pick, and the previews are all hinting that he's due to snap out of his recent slump against Boston. In their last meeting, Bosh was held to just 4 points; while I don't expect a total meltdown like that tonight, this specific matchup really gives me confidence. Ray Allen is much quicker than Bosh and will be closing out hard on his shots, and I highly doubt Bosh will try to bully his way inside—he never really does anyway. Plus, Garnett should handle things on the boards. I'm expecting a bigger role for Wade and LeBron tonight, and given Boston's typically solid defense, I think that's going to reflect on the scoreboard in favor of Bosh staying under his number.

Is there any word on how Rose is doing?

I suppose I'm just wondering, if Rose actually ends up playing tonight, I find it hard to believe he’ll see much significant time on the court, let alone get many shots off. I think someone mentioned a controlled minute count, and honestly, I don't think he can hit 24 points within those limited minutes. To reach that number, he’d probably need to take at least 25 shots, and given the nature of his injury, I guess the chances of that happening are pretty slim 🤷...if he doesn't play, the odds are basically 1, so who cares, right?

Just some thoughts on the middle spread

Looking at the Nets, they're going to be missing both Green and Wallace, and since Philly is fighting tooth and nail for a playoff spot, I don't see them having much trouble covering that line.
On the other hand, Rose is out for Chicago and Deng is dealing with that shooting arm injury, so honestly, I wouldn't trust them to cover the handicap.

Here’s one pick from that special collection of graniteotter6’s losers that nobody actually wants:
Cleveland vs. Charlotte, Over 192.5
It feels like a comfortable line that the high-flying young guys in Cleveland can easily clear. If the big city squad can drop 113 on Charlotte, these guys can surely hit 114. Meanwhile, Charlotte might just settle for 79.
Earlier this season, we saw scores of 216 and 196.
Charlotte basically surrendered.
Do you need more?

On a side note regarding the Bam Adebayo under, I recall that back when they played Memphis, he accounted for about 6 of Miami's first few baskets. He didn't manage to break 16 then. Something similar could happen tonight, so I’m tossing him into my scrap pile too.

LeBron’s been under lately—only dropped 49 total points against the Celtics over their last two games.
Henderson has hit the under in his last three (12-8-14), and he usually struggles more on the road than at home.
Pierce put up 23 against Miami in the first one; his last three were 17-24-22, though that 17 came in way less than 30 minutes since they were up big.
Going Evans just because of the odds and the fact that Thornton is out plus Kidd is just getting back into the rotation.
Anthony—you saw him the other night. Don't see why anything would change today, let alone him scoring more than 15.
The Knicks won the other night and they're feeling themselves. They're missing Rose, so the odds are just too good to pass up.

On topic—I took Bos-Miami over 183.5. Seems solid.
If you try to go over against Miami, you're asking for trouble.
Charlotte and Cleveland have me a bit worried, though; hopefully they pull it together.

Man, the bad beats are killing me too... though that might just be my luck. I once had Duncan on the over 21.5; he hits 21 points and then gets benched after the 30-minute mark. Absolute nightmare.
