I'm with you on this! 🙂
Come on, people, be helpful and snap some photos of the results. Most surgeons out there don't even have three decent shots on their websites, so how are we supposed to know what to expect from anyone? 🙂

Honestly, I stopped following this thread ages ago because I finally realized there’s no substitute for listening to your own doctor. Following advice from random people on an internet forum is a losing game—most of it is just plain wrong, anyway... plus, every doctor operates on their own specific set of principles. As for Dr. Pocket... look, it's not that he isn't following his own rules; it's just that you can't exactly walk into a clinic and demand a tiny, dainty nose if you aren't genetically built for it. I really went in thinking I could pull off a miniature nose, but nope. My face is what it is. My skin is thick, my bone structure is heavy... a tiny nose was never on the table for me. In fact, the surgeon narrowed it as much as physically possible, and it still doesn't look small. If he had gone any further, I wouldn't have been able to breathe, and since my thick skin tends to "expand" the appearance of the nose... well, let's just say a tiny nose wouldn't have suited my head at all. 😁 Ugh. Regarding the surgery itself... it's been a little over a year now, and I think I'm looking at a second procedure. I've had some complications, which you can read about in my previous posts, but basically, a lump has grown larger over time and shifted away from where they glued it. It makes me wonder, would any of you actually go through with a secondary rhinoplasty in a situation like this?

Hey everyone, I have a question for you all... if I schedule my surgery for September 7th, but decide to go for some minor aesthetic touch-ups around mid-July next year, will the swelling actually subside enough by the time September rolls around? I need everything to look relatively normal by the start of the school year when I head back to work. That gives me maybe a month and a half for recovery... I just don't want my students giving me a hard time about it. -.-

I'd go for one like this div>

Maybe some mods and islands will cut it for you, but if you go for an extreme makeover like that one above... man, I'm telling you, those students are gonna be all over you... 🤣

haha, I wasn't exactly envisioning such a radical transformation..XD ugh.. let's just hope for the best...🙂 I sent an email to Dr. Raguž over at Rib to see when I could swing by for an exam... I've heard nothing but great things about him—supposedly he's incredibly approachable and really knows his stuff...🙂

Oh, really? Swelling and bruising for two and a half months? You think that's actually possible? 😕

It’s been two days since they took the tampon out, and honestly, once I finally caught up on some sleep, everything just vanished... no bruising, no wounds, no discoloration, nothing at all.

Seriously though. When does that final mold—or whatever they call it—actually come off?
I need to know how much vacation time I should be booking.
The truth is, I won't be able to show my face at work as long as those bruises are visible.😢
I'm just hoping I can cover it all up with some makeup.

Look, it clearly says the bruising and swelling will definitely clear up within the timeframe the girl mentioned—UNLESS she goes through a more intense change like the one in the photo, which would still be visible since it's not like her students are just messing around, right?
If I misunderstood, then thank God 😁

🙂 Yeah, you totally missed the mark there, and honestly... you did it in a pretty interesting way...

We're talking about like a month and a half here... you know, from mid-July all the way through the start of September...

If she goes through with that kind of change you see in the link, she’s gonna have everyone coming for her because of that move, not because of some bruise or swelling... I mean, seriously, that girl is totally unrecognizable now. Aside from the arch of her eyebrow and one tiny little mole, you couldn't even tell it's the same person...

Hmm... Whether she's recognizable or not, I have to say, her nose is absolutely perfect.
I'm actually going to bring this photo up during our chat, just to see if it would suit me.

Haha, they won't be able to pull any fast ones on me regarding the changes because that’s when they'll actually see me for the first time... XD I mean, my first day teaching at that school isn't even happening until a month and a half after the surgery is over. My only real concern right now is the bruising. I just want to make sure it's not too obvious—I don't need everyone thinking someone went and jumped me... XD

Like, I don't want it to be super obvious so people don't think someone actually beat me up..XD

Don't sweat it; in most cases, those bruises are pretty much gone after two weeks (it really just depends on how young you are, your health, how fast you bounce back, and how massive the procedure was; three weeks tops). The swelling might linger a bit longer, but it’s not nearly as noticeable—especially to someone who’s meeting you for the very first time

I would totally go for something like this! <3

That’s actually a really lovely profile view. Honestly, when you first glance at it, there’s such a massive difference between the before and after shots—but let’s be real, the new hair color, the different hairstyle, the makeup... they all play such a huge part in the overall look!

But, what I was really trying to get at is that having a prettier nose from the side doesn't necessarily mean the face looks better from the front. Personally, I went to that same surgeon and ended up with a much better profile, but en face... 🤦 So, definitely stay cautious! Generally speaking, surgeons really ought to show before and after photos from every angle—profile, front-facing, three-quarters—just so you can get a complete and realistic impression of the results.

I have finally undergone my nose surgery at the Holy Spirit Hospital, and I wanted to take a moment to share my experience with all of you who might be considering this procedure through Medicare.
Well, this whole journey actually began about a year and a half ago, though I kept putting it off until this summer due to sheer nerves and a busy schedule. Ultimately, it was the wealth of shared experiences here on this forum that gave me the courage to finally seek relief; after all, I’ve been breathing through my mouth since I was eight years old, and my nose had developed a slight tilt and a bump that was barely noticeable except in photos. Following several posts and some invaluable advice from our dear Donna Bennett73, I decided it was time to tackle the issue. Since the wait times at Rib or other major hospitals can be quite extensive, I opted for Holy Spirit under the care of Dr. Raguž. My initial consultation took place at the end of July, and the surgery was scheduled for September 24th. They diagnosed a severe deviation, and we agreed on a minor aesthetic adjustment—which I actually suggested myself by showing him a photo of how I wanted the final result to look! After completing all the necessary pre-op exams, the surgery took place on Tuesday, September 25th, which was just three days ago. Waking up from the anesthesia went reasonably well, though I suppose that experience is quite subjective from person to person.
That first night was restless, as I struggled with mild pain and the sound of nearby snoring. For me, the second day was definitely the lowest point; I felt incredibly weak and ended up vomiting a few times in the afternoon. Thankfully, by today—the third day—I am feeling much better. You should be prepared for the fact that every single day brings some sort of pressure or discomfort in your head, teeth, or ears. You also have to sleep strictly on your back. As for bruising, mine isn't too dramatic; I mostly just look like I applied a heavy layer of burgundy eyeshadow to my eyelids, while the nurse stayed by my side until my eyes finally closed.😲
I’ll be wearing the nasal tampons for five days, staying in the hospital until Monday (six days total), and the cast will come off after seven to ten days. The nursing staff here is absolutely top-notch!!!!😍
So, that is the update for now; I will be sure to keep you all posted on my recovery progress.😉

Oh man, thank you so much, Donna Johnson16, that’s such a relief to hear...🙂 I just really hope these bruises don't stick around forever...😁
Does anyone happen to know the best way to get in touch with Dr. Poje regarding the rib? I sent him an email a few days ago, but I haven't heard a peep back yet...🤷

How did you manage to get ahold of Dr. Raguž? I’m currently stuck in OS, so dropping by the office to see the doctor feels a bit awkward right now. I'd much rather try reaching him over the phone or via email if possible...

How did you manage to get in touch with Dr. Raguž? Since I'm currently under Medicare, it feels a bit awkward for me to just drop in and see a specialist like that, so I was wondering if I might be able to reach him via phone or perhaps an email...

Getting an appointment with them can be quite a challenge, honestly; I had to coordinate everything through his secretary, so don't let the idea of visiting discourage you. His office number is 01 3712036, and he holds consultations on Fridays—and from what I've gathered, he truly is the absolute best when it comes to these matters, by the Holy Spirit. He’s a younger doctor, and you'll find he's incredibly open to any questions you might have.
