Another pick I’m eyeing is Tony Parker over 18.5 .
The Houston Rockets are notoriously bad at defending guards.

🤷☕

We could always go with Tony; it's honestly a relief when we're on the same page 🙂.

I believe those stats came from this site, though I can't say for certain http://www.hoopsstats.com/

Yeah, that definitely looks like it's from that site 👍 🙂

I'm waiting on the odds for Miami vs Philadelphia. If they land around 8.5, I'll have to take the 76ers.

New Jersey - OKC 2/2 1,55
Basically, the Brooklyn Nets are looking like one of the weakest squads out there right now, maybe even worse than Washington, who at least seems to be finding their footing. So yeah, the Nets might actually be the bottom feeders at this point. On the other hand, OKC is just rolling through everything, and I’m definitely looking to recoup that little slip-up I had with the wizard two days ago. Kevin Durant is going to be hungry to prove that whatever happened before was just a tiny hiccup that we won't see much of again this season. Most of the Nets' recent losses have been pretty brutal—we're talking double digits—and even if they manage to hang tough through the first quarter, they usually fall apart in the second and just get systematically dismantled. You could also maybe look at taking the Nets under 96.5.

What’s the move on Carmelo over 26.5 today against those Denver Nuggets? I feel like Melo is definitely going to hunt for at least 30 shots. 😁

I have a gut feeling the Denver Nuggets are going to absolutely dismantle them. Melo is just going to hunt his own shot, probably taking upwards of 25 field goal attempts and grabbing about 12 free throws while he's at it, so you can make of that what you will. 😬

Tim Duncan I’m feeling pretty good about taking the under on 13.5 points at 1.85 odds for SS.

Tim Duncan basically sat out almost the entire fourth quarter last night, only checking back in right before the final buzzer sounded. He ended up logging about 25 minutes total on the court, putting up 10 points while shooting 4-for-8 from the field and going perfect from the line at 2-for-2.

It sounds like Coach Pop might be looking to give Tim Duncan a little breather quite soon, which honestly makes total sense given how much he carries the load. It’s kind of like when you’re driving cross-country and realize you need to pull over at a Buc-ee's just to stretch your legs and grab a snack before hitting the road again—you can't just run the engine hot forever without a quick pit stop. He's been such a rock for the team, so seeing him get some well-deserved rest seems like a smart move to keep him fresh for the long haul.
Tim Duncan Has played in All 13 Games sol Far, averaging about 26.3 minutes whenever he steps onto the court. Honestly, if he wants that 35-year-old body to actually hold up until the playoffs, he’s definitely due for some downtime. Coach Pop hasn't officially picked which night he's going to pull him from the rotation just yet, but it feels like one of those back-to-back stretches we have coming up this week would be the perfect time to let him catch his breath.

Since this is a back-to-back game, I’ve got a feeling they might play it safe and probably dial back his minutes to around 20 at most. 🤷

When it comes to the Denver Nuggets, I honestly think it wouldn't be a bad idea to give them a shot over at SS:
The matchup between the New York Knicks and the Denver Nuggets is looking like a massive showdown, especially considering that seven-point spread they're throwing out there. It’s kind of like when you’re watching a high-stakes game in a big city like Chicago and you just know the energy is going to be electric from tip-off to the final buzzer. 2 @ 3,3
The odds on that specific handicap over at Bet365 are looking like... 2,75 So, that’s exactly why this coefficient actually carries some real weight. 🤷☕

Last night, I went with the under on the Knicks. Today, I’m doubling down and taking the under for 101.5 over at SS.

Hmm, didn't Miami absolutely dismantle Philly in the playoffs last year?
Plus, there's always that chance Philly just decides to tank,
I was seriously chewing on this matchup for a bit, but honestly, I think I'll pass for now. 🤷

I've been weighing that matchup in my head, but I think I'll pass on diving too deep into it right now. 🤷

The third seed in the league might consider tanking. 😕

Right now, they possess the best defense in the league and offer a very solid response to LeBron James. If my memory serves me correctly, Dwyane Wade was actually their biggest headache.

What on earth are we thinking about the New York Knicks? They’ve dropped five straight games now—seriously, they need to pull off a win at some point soon. I mean, sure, the Denver Nuggets are playing out of their minds right now and possess an incredibly talented roster, but if the Knicks don't start finding ways to win, they're going to be sweating through the final days of the season just trying to secure a playoff spot.
Plus, you have to consider the narrative here: Carmelo Anthony is going to be absolutely dialed in tonight, looking for revenge against his former squad...
I reckon there might be some value in taking 😉

Houston (-2.5) - San Antonio (1.851)
New Jersey (+7.5) - Oklahoma City (1.851)
New York (205.5) - Denver (Under 1.85)
Memphis (-9.5) - Sacramento (1.851)
Atlanta (187.5) - Cleveland (Under 1.85)

Just some small bets for tonight—does anyone here actually know their way around NBA online betting?

17w/19l ; +11,324 units; ROI: +6.86%

Detroit - Portland
Pick: Portland -6.5

Odds: 1.862

Betting shop: Pinnacle

Unit stake: 5/10

I’ve been covering Detroit quite a bit lately—a grim squad, really. It's mostly veterans just looking to coast through their contracts, poor chemistry, and three players sidelined by injury (with Stuckey joining Andrew Bynum and Andrés Villanueva on the bench last night). Their main assets are Gordon and Monroe, though the Trail Blazers might give Monroe a hard time tonight—Camby is a defensive specialist, after all. Plus, this is Portland's final game of this six-game road trip; they're sitting at 2-3 right now and will certainly want to pull even before heading back home. As I’ve noted previously, Detroit is essentially last year's Milwaukee—bottom of the league in scoring average, poor shooting percentages, low volume, and weak defense. They are the polar opposite of the Blazers, who have high expectations for this season.
Both teams played last night—Portland won convincingly, while Detroit lost, predictably. They are now 3-13, having dropped 9 of their last 10.
Regarding head-to-head matchups, Portland has won 6 of the last 6.
As for games played in Detroit, Portland has taken 10 of the last 13.

The Blazers are simply superior—better depth, higher motivation, and a better coach. That should be enough to cover a 7-point spread against Detroit tonight.

I have been discussing Detroit quite a bit lately. They are a desperate squad, filled with veterans who seem solely focused on coasting through their contracts. The locker room chemistry is poor, and they are dealing with three injuries—Andrés Villanueva and Stuckey joined Andrew Bynum on the sidelines last night. Their primary contributors are Gordon and Monroe, though the Trail Blazers might actually manage to shut Monroe down tonight given that Camby is a defensive specialist; he won't make life easy for him. Furthermore, this is the final game of Portland's current six-game road trip. They sit at 2-3 right now, and they will certainly want to pull even before heading back home to their fans. As I have noted in previous days, Detroit resembles last year's Milwaukee—they rank near the bottom in scoring average, suffer from poor shooting percentages, take few shots, and possess a lackluster defense. Essentially, they are the polar opposite of the Trail Blazers, a team with massive expectations for this season.
Both teams played last night. Portland secured a convincing victory, while Detroit, predictably, dropped theirs. They are now sitting at 3-13, having lost 9 of their last 10 games.
Looking at the head-to-head history, Portland has won 6 of the last 6 matchups.
Regarding games played in Detroit, Portland has emerged victorious in 10 of the last 13 contests.

The Trail Blazers are simply superior. They possess better depth, higher motivation, and a better coach. I believe that is sufficient for them to cover a 7-point spread against Detroit tonight.

It makes sense to me. Detroit is a disaster without Stuckey, whereas Portland is league elite.👍

betting line:
Boozer over
Duncan under
Portland +6.5

I'll probably toss the Boozer over bet into the trash.

I didn't want to mess with Phil regarding the 7.5 spread, but I wanted to share the news that Dwyane Wade is out tonight.

Detroit is a disaster regardless. 🤣

Go ahead, put Boozer in the SPAT—just try to actually report the results this time, unlike last time.

I'm off to check out another bet. ☕

Atlanta vs. Cleveland
Pick: Atlanta -7.5

Odds: 1.943

Sportsbook: Pinnacle

Unit: 4/10

Atlanta (11-5) is in solid form—four wins in their last five. They are dominant at home with a 7-1 record, largely driven by an offense that averages a healthy 101.6 points per game on their own floor. Joe Johnson—overrated as he may be—is finally finding his rhythm, and Josh Smith has been nothing short of phenomenal this season. He’s a physical force who does it all: scoring, passing, rebounding, and rim protection. His stat line is impressive—16.7 points on 50% shooting, 9.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.8 blocks. Even without All-Star Al Horford due to injury, they remain resilient; their defense is elite, allowing just 90.8 points per game. The bench depth is also reliable, led by guys like McGrady, Radmanović, and Pachulia.
Cleveland has had a surprisingly decent start, anchored by number one overall pick Kyrie Irving, sitting at 6-8. However, the cracks are showing—they seem to be regressing toward their true north: the bottom tier of the Eastern Conference. They’re on a two-game skid, and last night's loss to Chicago was arguably the worst in franchise history.
They have the ceiling to be a playoff contender in a few years, but right now? Not even close. Jamison is aging and injury-prone, and the roster is simply too thin. Aside from Irving, Varejao is the only player showing real promise.
Irving had a couple of "brain fade" moments last night—throwing passes into the gutter, essentially—which prompted his coach to bench him for a significant stretch. It was a clear message: no more sloppy play. If the kid continues that nonchalance tonight, expect the same treatment.
Both teams played according to their recent trends last night. Given Atlanta’s superior depth, they should handle the fatigue better than the visitors will.

Last season, Atlanta faced the Cavs three times and walked away with three decisive victories—winning by 16, 15, and 12 points respectively. I expect them to control this one at home against a Cleveland squad that struggles defensively. Taking the spread.

wiredcanyon39 said:Jersey vs. OKC, February 2nd... looking at that 1.55 line for the favorites... honestly, it feels a little too easy, doesn't it? Just one of those matchups where you stare at the numbers and wonder if the oddsmakers are actually paying attention or if they're just sleepwalking through the season... anyway, I'll be watching...
Honestly, looking at the landscape right now, New Jersey is basically bottom-of-the-barrel alongside Washington—though D.C. is actually starting to show some life—so the Nets might just be the worst squad in the league at this exact moment... OKC is a lock for me, and hey, if I'm wrong, I guess I'll just have to pay up that little slip-up I owed that wizard guy from two days ago. Durant is going to be out for blood; he'll want to prove that whatever happened before was just a momentary lapse in judgment that we won't be seeing much of this season. The Nets have been getting absolutely hammered lately—we're talking double-digit blowouts—and even when they manage to hang tough in the first quarter, they tend to fall apart completely in the second until they just break... If you're feeling spicy, maybe look at the Nets under 96.5...

I’m thinking along the exact same lines here... honestly, I don't see how OKC doesn't just cruise through this one. Look, the only guy on that roster who can actually pull strings is D-Lo—and he’s staring down a matchup against Westbrook. Now, I get it, Russ is basically everyone's favorite guy and his basketball IQ is off the charts, but let's be real... he still packs enough punch to ensure D-Lo isn't getting totally outclassed. If D-Lo can hold his own and prevent him from creating that massive gap that usually allows a star to drag the rest of the squad along, OKC has a serious edge. They've got the upper hand in the high post, too, so I don't see any way this doesn't go their way without some serious help from the refs... I'm taking the OKC spread at 7.5...
