With a lower threshold for making the playoffs, teams can secure their spots with fewer wins, which naturally opens up opportunities to rest starters or reduce their playing time. I never suggested focusing solely on superstars, but in a standard season, you generally know when players are being rested or pushed; the bar for playoff contention is higher, leaving less room for tactical maneuvering. In a condensed schedule where the entry bar is lower, anything can happen.
