My thread was deleted without any explanation—the one titled "Do you think some form of USA reunification is possible?" from the close politics subforum. I wasn't glorifying totalitarian regimes or anything else that breaks the rules here—so what gives?

You simply don't see the full picture.

That geographic region still exists, and so does the constant flow of people, goods, and ideas. Trade continues, people travel, sports competitions are held, and television networks are watched across borders.

The only thing that has changed is that the territory is now completely decentralized. It has been split into newly formed states. The kind of restoration you are talking about would merely be a restoration of a central administration. Can't the people here thrive perfectly well without such an entity?

There’s an unwritten rule around here, really. If you're under 18, you aren't allowed to start threads about nostalgia for the old USA unless you can list seven secretaries of the Young Communist League and seven hostile offensives by heart. You didn't do that. My apologies.

Is there a specific way—or maybe even a dedicated subforum—where I can start a thread without worrying about it getting deleted?

The issue, I suppose, is that this particular subject has been dissected countless times before in various guises, and more often than not, it just devolves into these endless, circular arguments where everyone tries to lecture one another. It seems to me that people simply roll their eyes whenever a topic emerges that feels even remotely similar to something we've already covered.
