What’s the going rate these days for an old HD4650 with 1GB of DDR2? I'm looking at a really ancient model here. Is it even worth bothering with $67? Honestly, I just need something small enough to fit under my radiator

And I was also wondering, is it even worth dealing with Craigslist, like actually paying for listings and shipping stuff out there?
EDIT: I'm just going to sell it to a buddy for $33, which honestly seems like a fair price, and he'll be happy since it's got decent integrity and a single core

Hey everyone. I’m looking to upgrade my PC, and I figured I’d start by tackling the graphics card. Here’s what I'm currently running:
Manufacturer:ASUS
Model:P5G-MX
Memory:2 GB DDR2
Processor:Intel Celeron 420 Package : Socket 775 LGA Core speed
Package:Socket 775 LGA
Core Speed:1600 MHz
What kind of GPU can I actually stick in this motherboard? Honestly, does a decent card even exist for this setup, given how old the machine is?
My budget is roughly $100, though I'm totally open to buying used parts
Thanks!

So, you actually planning on gaming with that, or what?
What kind of PSU are you running, brand and model?

Hey, I need a quick, honest take here. I just swapped out my old Radeon HD 4870 GDDR5 (the one with DVI+DVI+TV outputs) for a Sapphire Radeon HD 6670 1GB GDDR5. Total rookie question: is this card actually an upgrade? Colors seem a bit off to me, but maybe that’s just my eyes playing tricks. I'm a complete newbie at this, so let me know what you guys think.
thnx

Someone seriously played you.

Muhahaha I actually put in some work to research this, only to realize I completely missed the mark. Typical. This is what happens when a total noob tries to rush a purchase. Grrr. I'm not keeping it; I'm swapping it out immediately.

I'm looking at picking up a new graphics card, and I think I've found a pretty solid deal. But I'm a little worried—my power supply is only Hipro 380 w, while the card asks for 400W. I guess you wonder if that might cause some issues?

Man, what kind of GPU pulls 400W on its own??? 😲 🤣 That’s gotta be the total draw for the whole system...
So, which card are you actually looking at??
#434 ·
It's a Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD6450 graphics card with 1GB of DDR3, featuring PCIe, DVI, and HDMI ports—basically just a standard GPU. I think the power supply is a Hipro 380 w

It'll hold up just fine. Just a heads-up though, that GPU isn't exactly built for gaming if that's what you're planning to do.

I'm just playing FIFU, so I guess it shouldn't be an issue at all.

I need a quick answer on something here... 😁 is an ATI Radeon HD 4730 actually any good compared to an Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTX ???
#439 ·
I’m just wondering—is there actually any real difference between PNY, XFX, or ASUS when it comes to the Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTX, or am I just chasing ghosts here? What’s the actual deal with them?
#440 ·
Nah, I guess the difference is just design, the fan, the warranty, and stuff like that, but performance-wise there's basically no difference or maybe just a tiny one.
