Hahaha! 😁 Look, just go straight to the source and grill them—ask everything you need to know so you aren't stuck guessing whether things are one way or the other. 🙂

Look, just head over to ImageShack or Photobucket. Upload your shots there, then just copy and paste the links right here. Make sure you grab the specific BBCode link meant for forums.

Does anyone happen to know who handles the final paperwork with Dr. Glumičić regarding the deadline for test results? I’m cutting it incredibly close with my schedule—my surgery is this Friday, but my labs won't be ready until Thursday. Is it actually feasible to bring them in on the morning of the procedure? Also, will I have any window of time before the operation to sit down with him one more time to consult and finalize exactly which procedures I want to move forward with and which I'd rather skip? If anyone has some practical advice or even just a bit of encouragement, I’d appreciate it; I’m starting to feel the pre-op nerves kicking in as Friday approaches.😱

Carol Reed64 said:Hey, can anyone tell me who I actually need to talk to at Dr. Glumičić’s office regarding the deadline for all my lab results? Can I just bring them on the day of the surgery since I'm running super low on time? My labs come back Thursday and the surgery is Friday. Also, will I have enough time before the big day to have one last consultation with him to hammer out exactly what I want done versus what I don't? If anyone has any other pro tips, please help—I am totally panicking because Friday is coming at me fast.😱

Look, I haven't personally been to his office, but since you're getting radio silence from everyone else here, I'll give you my two cents.
When those results hit your inbox on Thursday, go through them yourself first. Check everything. If it looks fine, just grab them and bring them straight to the hospital on the day of the procedure. But if something looks wonky, call him immediately and let him know what's up.
That's exactly how I handled mine. One of my blood markers was flagged high (can't remember which one specifically), so I just called Dr. Glušac on his cell and read the result to him. Luckily, it wasn't a dealbreaker for the surgery... the heavy hitters were all within range.
Right before the actual surgery, Dr. Glušac went over all the details with me; we spent about an hour and a half talking shop. I'm pretty sure that's standard practice. Doctors aren't exactly going to memorize every single tiny detail from a consultation weeks prior, especially when they're busy prepping for a whole lineup of surgeries. 🙂
Don't sweat it. The surgery itself isn't that scary, and honestly, Dr. Glumičić is a wizard when it comes to making noses look beautiful. If it weren't for my job requirements, I might have even gone to him myself.
As for pre-op prep... my best advice is to really, truly think about what you want. Get granular. Google nose anatomy online, compare it to your own face, and visualize exactly what changes you're looking for. Unfortunately, I didn't do that until *after* my surgery... once I realized my tip was asymmetrical. If I could go back in time, that's exactly what I would've said to him. 😁 Back then, I didn't realize I had to specify "tip work." I just assumed saying "nose surgery" automatically included the tip, but it doesn't. The tip is its own whole beast.
Post-op wise? Buy some cold compresses and a good cream for the bruising. And seriously, always keep a drink nearby because breathing through your mouth all day is going to leave your throat feeling like a desert.
Good luck, girl!! Please check back in and let us know how it went!!

It is perfectly sufficient to simply hand over your results right as you arrive for the surgery, and regarding your consultation, you will have a full discussion with him beforehand involving photos and setting your specific goals... good luck, and let us know how everything turns out!

placidlynx12 said:But you know what? It’s honestly not even about him. He did exactly what I asked for, period. Nobody could have possibly predicted how much of a transformation this would be once everything finally healed up. I mean, looking at my nose now compared to how it used to be... it's like night and day. It’s a total miracle. But if I’m being totally honest, I still wish it had just a little more of that defined, sculpted look to it. And don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing the doctor—it's really just about how I feel about myself. 😁
I mean, if you really want to send over those before and after shots, I’m definitely down to take a look? If you feel like sharing, go for it. 🙂

Oh, placidlynx12... where do I even begin with you? 😉
So, where are the pictures? 🙂
Just go ahead and send them over already. [EMAIL ADDRESS REMOVED] If you can't find any other way to handle it... 😉

Can we please just keep things like full names, email addresses, and all that personal stuff to the DMs? It’s probably better for everyone if we don't broadcast that info here, right? Thanks!

Hey there, how were your first and second days feeling? I’m wondering if you were actually able to get up the next morning and sit down to watch some TV, or if you spent the entire time just lying in bed. Also, can you manage to sit up while eating, or is everything strictly done while lying down?

Carol Reed64 said:Hey guys, how were those first couple of days for you? Like, could you actually manage to get up the next morning and sit on the couch to watch some TV, or were you basically just horizontal for the entire duration? Also, can you actually sit up to eat, or is everything strictly a "lying down" situation?

Everything was totally fine, really... I just felt like a complete wreck visually. 😁

So, I’m taking my splint off in just a few days! What’s the move after that? Like, how am I supposed to act? Someone told me I should be doing some light nose massages.
I'm lowkey terrified someone might accidentally bump into me—even just a little too hard—and I'll be constantly stressing that my nose might end up crooked...

Also, how do you guys rinse with saline? My nose is totally packed with dried blood right now, so I'm guessing the congestion is gonna stick around for a while.

How do you guys rinse with saline? My nose is full of dried blood, so I assume the congestion is going to haunt me for quite a while.

After both my first and second surgeries, I didn't do—well, nothing. Nobody ever mentioned massages to me, nor lymphatic drainage, nor anything else...🤷 It’s totally normal, like you never even had surgery. My advice? Don't touch it. Just wash your face like you normally would and leave it at that. Seriously, there's nothing special about it—you'll see.🙂 As for bumps, obviously you have to be careful, but just avoid playing ball games or chasing toddlers around during those first few weeks.😁 I actually had an incident—two weeks post-op, a branch fell right on my nose. Straight from the tree to my face. Yeah, it hurt. Then, a month later, this damn mosquito was buzzing around me—so persistent! It felt like it was trying to crawl inside my nose. In a moment of pure frustration, I swatted at my nose! (Luckily, the mosquito flew off unscathed). And yes, that hurt too. But my nose stayed exactly where it was—perfectly straight.😬 As for rinsing, I don't know how everyone else does it, but I just used Hilton Hotels spray—you can pick it up at any pharmacy and just give it a quick spritz. That's really it, and I hope you're happy with the results!🙂

Does anyone have any recent updates regarding Dr. Munitić?

Has anyone here undergone surgery with him lately? If so, how would you describe his work and the overall outcome?

I remember reading some glowing reviews about him on this forum quite a while back, but I’m really looking for more current experiences. I'm currently on the fence about having him perform my rhinoplasty, so I would be incredibly grateful for any insight or stories you can share!😁

I'm low-key terrified someone might accidentally bump into me—like, even a slightly heavy touch—and I can't stop obsessing that my nose will end up crooked from it...

Also, how are you guys rinsing with saline? My nose is basically a crime scene of dried blood right now, so I’m guessing this congestion is going to be my best friend for a while longer.

So, here's the deal with the massage: you use one hand, put your thumb on one side, and then use your index and middle fingers on the other side of your nose. You do these gentle, circular motions where you're basically "lifting" the skin away from the bone. It’s super important because you don't want the skin to get stuck or adhered to the nasal structure, plus it gets the circulation moving so the swelling goes down way faster.

For the cleaning part, head to a CVS or Walgreens and grab a big bottle of saline solution (I usually just get the plastic ones, they're cheap, maybe like five bucks for a liter). Grab a syringe and a needle too. Poke the needle into the top of the saline bottle—you'll see exactly where it goes when you buy it—and just leave it there so you can draw the liquid into the syringe. Once you've filled it up, press one nostril shut with your finger (don't just press the side, actually cover the opening), tilt your head forward a little, and spray the saline into the other nostril. Sniff it up 😁 ...hold it for a second, then blow it out. Just repeat the whole process for the other side.
Anyway, that's the rundown... hopefully that was detailed enough 🙂 if you've got more questions, just hit me up.

steelangler88 yeah, my doctor actually told me to massage my nose whenever it comes to mind...

rustygardener172 thanks for such a detailed reply 😉 I know I need to get back to my old self, but honestly, I’m just terrified. I'm obsessing over my nose way too much, ugh...

I seriously can't wait to get this mold off! I'm literally breathing through my throat, and my mouth gets so dry at night that nothing seems to help. My nose is stuffed up and full of little scabs; I've been using ointment with Q-tips and nasal drops, but none of it does squat until this mold is finally out.

Just wanted to pick your brain on one more thing: how long, how often, and how hard am I actually supposed to be massaging my nose? I'm honestly a little nervous about pressing too hard!

then just go ahead and massage it😁—but honestly, I have no clue. Neither one of them mentioned anything about that to me (and I actually asked the other one! He told me there was no need🤷). If they told you to do it, then just follow their lead and you'll be fine. They didn't even bring up any physiological stuff to me! Just that little spray. Though, back when I was at the Mayo Clinic, I was supposed to get some drops, but they wouldn't give them to me😁 so I ended up just using the spray again. AH

steelangler88...Look, saline solution is basically the exact same thing as that spray, except it’s like 5 to 8 times cheaper. 😁 I used to be all about that spray at first, too, but $27 I ended up wasting money on a little bottle that I burned through in just seven days. You can get enough saline to last you at least a month.

brightotter21 Just massage it whenever you remember—honestly, the more the better. Don't stress, you aren't going to break anything in your nose. You probably need to use a slightly firmer grip, and I highly doubt anyone could actually manage to cause themselves that much pain on purpose 😁
Your nose isn't stuffed up because of the mold. Everyone deals with congestion during those first seven days, regardless of how many tampons, molds, or bandages you're using... It'll pass. That was my only real issue with my nose... having to breathe through my mouth... it drives me absolutely crazy 😁

So, I’m scheduled to get surgery for a deviated septum in Cleveland in about a month. Has anyone here gone through the Mayo Clinic before? I'm wondering if they actually stick to the schedule, or if there's a good chance I'll be stuck waiting around all day after I show up for my appointment.
Thanks!
