Looking at this i5... damn, you could actually get through GTA 4 on low or mid settings using just that integrated graphics on the chipset—it’s kind of wild. I couldn't even manage that back in the day with my 3870... 😁 I mean, I guess... but we're talking like 20-25fps... barely playable...

GTA:SA might run smoothly, but those GPUs are basically entry-level 64-bit cards, like a GT 210 or an HD 4550 😉

Hey there! I'm looking to pick up a new graphics card with a budget of about $167. It needs to be a PCI-e interface. My current rig is roughly 6 years old, and honestly, my old Radeon X600 just isn't cutting it anymore🙂. On the specs side, I'm running an Intel Core i3 and have 2.5GB of DDR2 RAM. I’d mainly be using it to play some newer titles, like PES 2011 or maybe Mass Effect 2. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!😁

You’re going to have a pretty rough time trying to run any modern titles on that setup. To be honest, that processor is feeling a bit anemic by today's standards—it's just not hitting those necessary benchmarks anymore—so even if you were to slap the most powerful graphics card in the world onto it, you wouldn't see much of a difference. In my opinion, picking up a 5670 is definitely the smartest move for the money you're looking to spend right now...

Hey, I tracked this down on $160. I'm pretty sure it's the exact same model. I'm just a little fuzzy on what actually distinguishes the Sapphire version from the VTX 3D one, though. As for $33, it looks like it's basically the same thing, just bumped up to 1 GB of RAM.

Honestly, I don't think you even need an HD 5670 for a Pentium 4 setup. The HD 5550 is way more budget-friendly, especially if you grab the GDDR5 version—it isn't much weaker, anyway. 🙂

Decent price. I might actually pull the trigger on an upgrade around May—maybe for $500. If I bundle the CPU and GPU, I could probably get under $333... since my current AMD 5200+ and 9800GT setup isn't worth much these days... 😁

I wasn't aware there were cheaper ones, but I think the EVGA Graphics Card has a slightly better cooling system. Whether that makes it worth the extra money is debatable.

Now I’m wondering, just how much better is the 460 actually performing in games (in some, or maybe not all?) and is it truly significant enough to justify dropping $33 more on it?
I can't seem to find a single review that actually compares those two directly.
p.s. I'm not talking about an overclocked card here.

I ran into the exact same dilemma a few months back, and ended up grabbing the Hawk🙂 It’s a bit faster, runs significantly quieter, and stays way cooler

EVGA Graphics Card at Best Buy $457 plus three games. In my opinion, it's the absolute best deal on the market.
