I don't have any issues with AMD drivers, so that's news to me. If you're short on cash right now and absolutely need a GPU, go with that Radeon HD 6670. Out of the options you listed, it draws the least power and should hold up fine... maybe treat yourself to an EVGA 450W power supply for your birthday. That Fortron 400W is ancient—it was decent, sure, but you can get an EVGA 450W for about the same price.
You'll be able to run Battlefield 3... hopefully. 😁
There are people out there running setups even weaker than yours, so they'll find a way to make it work.

An EVGA 450W would be awesome, but man, life happens.🙄

Asking if we have an EVGA 450W is like asking if water is wet. It's a no-brainer.

The Fortron will do the job since I'm not planning any massive upgrades for at least another two years.😉

Corsair ATX Case 400W 1xPCIeX, bulk
47 miles

Go ahead and grab that one. It's a hell of a lot better than an EVGA 400W.

Alright, looks like I’ll actually come out ahead here. The EVGA 400W 56 miles is a steal at 74 bucks.

I'm just praying this thing holds up until November. 🙂

Hey everyone,
I'm looking to pick up a new graphics card.
Here are my current specs:
ASUS Motherboard
Intel E5200 (overclocked to 3.5GHz)
2 x 1 GB RAM (800MHz)
GTX 1050
A few hard drives...
Corsair 380W
TV tuner card (PCI)

I'm aiming for a price range between $60 and $90.
Ideally, I'd love a single-slot card since I'm using a PCI slot and want to make sure there's enough airflow, plus nothing too loud—it doesn't have to be passive, just something with adjustable fan speeds.

So far, I've found a Radeon HD 5670, Radeon HD 6570, Radeon HD 6670, and a Radeon HD 5750.
Which one offers the best bang for my buck? My main focus is gaming.

The first three are pretty much in the same ballpark, following this order: Radeon HD 6570, Radeon HD 5670, then the Radeon HD 6670. However, the Radeon HD 5750 stands out because it’s significantly more powerful—maybe by 20-30%—and you might be able to snag one for just slightly more than $200, so that's probably my pick. It should pair nicely with your processor, and you've got a solid power supply 🙂

The Radeon HD 5750 (or 6750) really stands out because it's much stronger—maybe 20-30% better—and you can usually find one for just a little more $200 so I'd personally go with that. It would pair perfectly with your processor, plus you have a decent power supply 🙂

Thanks for the reply,
I put the 5750 on my shortlist because I saw some great deals on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/s?k=hd5750 specifically looking at this Sapphire Pulse model. So, there's an option slightly below that too $167. My only worry is that it's a dual-slot card, which means it might sit right next to my TV tuner card. Would the fan struggle to get enough air, or am I overthinking it? How risky is that? If it runs hot, it’ll probably get noisy... and I really like how quiet my PC is right now, so I'd rather not mess with that.

If I just set aside the Radeon HD 6770 and those other 67xx cards for a second, how would the Radeon HD 5670 actually hold up?

The HD 5670 is maybe 15-20% faster, so I'm afraid you wouldn't see much of a jump...

Over here in the States, the only decent option at Newegg is the 6750 for 116 miles plus tax.
Don't bother with the 5670; just grab the 6670 for 86 miles plus tax.

Forget the 5670. Just grab the 6670 for 86 miles plus tax.

Will the power supply hold up?

It should work fine; I don't think any of them pull more than 100W 😉

I need to pick up a new GPU. My current one, an AMD Radeon HD 4850, is basically ancient history. I want something that can actually handle Battlefield 3 on
High Settings.

Right now I'm running $0.57, but I'm stuck on what to upgrade to. Adding $100 shouldn't be an issue.
I don't care about noise. As for overheating, I just leave the side panel off my case.
My power supply is a Cooler Master 500 W.

A few people suggested I go with the MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II

How long is this card going to last me? Can it run games on medium settings for a while?

If you're willing to help out, hit me up on
Steam / Skype (xzhadowx/George Santos)
🙂 Specs for my motherboard and CPU are in this

If you were to pick up a GPU that powerful, I suspect the processor would end up being a bit of a bottleneck.

From what I can gather, you're running an AM3-ready motherboard, so this might actually be a smarter move for you.

So, is the processor just not up to par? I don't really follow all this "technical jargon." Could you break down what a bottleneck actually means?

The processor simply doesn't have the raw horsepower required to process the massive amount of data being pushed by the GPU. In other words, you aren't going to be able to tap into 100% of that graphics card's potential.

So, you're saying my CPU is basically junk now? Too old to even handle modern graphics cards?
Honestly, is there any point in swapping it out if it can still run cards that aren't quite as beefy as these?
I've spent all this time thinking my GPU was the bottleneck when the processor was actually the problem.😢

Honestly, if I were in your shoes, I’d grab the GPU first—then just swap out the processor for a Bulldozer later down the road instead of messing around with a beefier Phenom.

Hey everyone...
You guys have helped me out so many times before, so I was hoping you might be able to lend a hand one more time...
I’m looking into picking up a used graphics card, and I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on which one would be the better choice. I'm mainly trying to find something decent that can handle titles like Grand Theft Auto IV, Call of Duty: Black Ops, and Metro 2033 without too much trouble.

AMD Radeon HD 4850 1GB

I’ve been spending some time looking into the old ATI Radeon HD 4670 1GB lately, just trying to get a better feel for how it holds up. It’s one of those cards that really makes you think about how much hardware has changed over the years, even if it feels a little dated by today's standards. I'm mostly just curious to see what kind of performance I can squeeze out of it, though I know I shouldn't expect anything too crazy.

Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT 1GB

The rest of my build should probably look like this: an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ paired with 4 gigs of RAM—assuming, of course, I can actually track down a processor like that somewhere.

Thanks so much for the help.😉
