Hey there.

I picked up the Star Wars special edition trilogy, but I noticed a problem on discs 3 and 4 (the bonus features). Not everything is subtitled; specifically, the "documentaries" on those last two discs lack subtitles entirely. Discs 1 and 2, which contain the actual movies, are fine.

To be clear, these are Region 2 (Europe) discs, featuring English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, and Swedish subtitles.

Is this actually how they were produced, or am I looking at a manufacturing defect? 🤷

I was just wondering—is everything actually okay with these discs (like, were they intended to be this way?), or am I looking at some kind of "factory defect"? 🤷

Don't sweat it, it's definitely not a factory error. It's pretty rare for those extra features to be subtitled—at least not on most of the movies in my collection...

Exactly.

Those extra features just aren't subtitled.
For instance, I've got the original versions of Ben-Hur and The Green Mile, and they're packed with all this cool behind-the-scenes footage showing how the movies were made, but there isn't any translation or subtitles for them.

I’ve got the Star Wars special editions—specifically the first extended version they put out back in 2004—and even the supplemental material has been translated.

Right, that one definitely has the subs! But the special edition—you know, the massive 5-disc set?—that one hasn't been translated... I actually own both versions, so I'm 100% sure about this!🙂
