The whole thing’s going down right in the heart of Washington, D.C.—we're doing a symbolic sale of Blue Umbrellas, and every single cent from that goes straight toward helping kids in need through the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

If you're looking to get involved with this drive, you can either grab one of the umbrellas or just send a direct donation straight to the organization's account. Simple as that.

The sales spots are gonna shift around throughout the month—but the timing? That’s staying exactly the same.

Every single weekend since... Around 10 to 1 p.m. Catch us downtown on November 4th, 2010.

The grand finale is gonna be a big group watch party for the game followed by a concert

All the cash we pull in from that goes straight to the fundraiser... basically, all for the kids

Where exactly are the screening and the concert being held?

Over 70 people reached out this past week, so we're putting together a big meeting next week for all our volunteers (both current and new) to divvy up tasks.

Could someone let me know how much the Blue Umbrella costs? I am just looking for some information at this stage. If the price isn't too steep, I would love to stop by tomorrow to pick one up. My budget is a bit tight right now, but I truly want to contribute to the cause in any way I can.

Honestly, it’s not even about selling umbrellas—that's just the hook. The whole point is raising donations and getting the word out about what the organization actually does.
We'll walk anyone interested through all the different ways they can help, and if they know someone who could really use a hand, we'll give them the right contact info to reach out.

People stopping by the stand know upfront that the umbrella is basically just a little thank-you gift for their donation.

Everyone just gives whatever they can afford or feel like giving.

Some folks drop a couple of bucks, others might chip in a bit more.

For a $10 donation, you get a small umbrella, and if you give $40 or more, you get the big one.

Plus, any kid who comes by gets a blue balloon as a little gift.
Donations are always appreciated, obviously, but it doesn't matter—whether it's ten cents or nothing at all, the kids are still getting those balloons.🙂

I think I'll probably make an appearance today; the price point is genuinely quite reasonable, so it feels like a meaningful way to offer some support if I do.🙂

I actually have some old books from back in elementary school that I was planning to sell... if the Boys & Girls Clubs of America could use them, I'd love to donate them. It's just 7 little kids' books with happy themes...

It had nothing to do with Dinamo itself, though their fans were definitely there

and honestly, it’s not just them—fans from all sorts of different clubs show up all the time to help out with our drives

So far, the "Blue Umbrella" campaign has pulled in $3.50 and 90 cents
