...even if they didn't mean it...
I find it offensive.

http://www.example.com/thread/581769

"Did your kids just 'happen' by accident, or did you consciously create them out of love?"

It’s basically the same as someone starting a thread saying:
"Are you Catholic, or are you just corrupt and pathetic?"

Right?
By that logic, anyone who isn't Catholic (and thank God there are plenty of us...) would be considered "corrupt and pathetic," just like any "unplanned child" is automatically labeled unloved, and any parent who wasn't expecting a baby is branded as someone who actually hates their own kid.
That’s bordering on slander at this point!

Seriously though... it's pure discrimination and degradation:
1. Against parents who had an unplanned pregnancy, because it subtly implies they're bad parents—as if only a bad parent could fail to plan.
2. Against the children themselves, since they're being tagged as unwanted and neglected just because of how they arrived.

And now, nobody in this thread is allowed to say the topic is disgusting, inappropriate, or just plain narrow-minded. Instead, we get:
"If you don't like the topic, just skip it."

Please, try to talk me out of this. Give me some actual arguments for why this topic belongs here... if you can't, then just agree with me and let's close it.

Thanks.

😠😠😠

I honestly, what is there even to complain about regarding someone who would just throw their political opponents straight into a federal penitentiary?

By the way—are you still skimming off the top of those charity donations meant for orphans at the local shelter?

😠😠😠

I don't find it offensive—though, honestly, I'm not really the type to nitpick standard headlines or hunt for hidden subtext.
Just because something "happened" doesn't mean it wasn't born out of love, but it certainly isn't always a conscious choice. It's like how not every child conceived with intention is necessarily the product of a romantic connection.

The headline seems straightforward enough to me—nothing offensive about it.

Alright, look, the thread was a bit of a mess at first, but fixing the title cleaned everything up.
And nobody is being offensive toward any group here—it just comes off like they're head over heels in love.😁

It’s not like they’re insulting the Roma; it just makes them look incredibly devoted. 😁

Haha.
Yeah.

Wait, hold on. Isn't it a little discriminatory if you aren't even allowed to just call someone out for being rude in the comments?

Well, it's because I planned to have my kid in three years, but instead, it happened in three months. Thank God. Looking back, my original timeline was totally messed up anyway. It happened exactly when it needed to, not just when I decided it should happen.
But let's be clear—I didn't go home that night specifically trying to "make a baby" with my husband.
We just had way too much built-up energy.

So, who gets to tell me I don't love my husband or my child just because our timing shifted a little?

I didn't just go home and hook up with my husband specifically to conceive.
There was just too much sexual energy in the air.

So, who gets to decide that I don't love my husband or my child just because our timing shifted slightly?

Isn't that taking things a little too personally?

You're the only one who knows if your child was wanted, planned, or unplanned. There's no need to justify anything to anyone or get worked up on a forum.🤷

Look, you know your own life better than anyone else. Whether your day was planned out weeks ago or just some chaotic mess that happened by accident—it doesn't matter. Why on earth would you waste your energy making excuses to someone else? Honestly, why even bother getting worked up over it on social media? It’s just not worth the headache.🤷

Look, it’s not like I’m losing my mind here. Dammit. 😬 🤣

I have to say, those pretentious attitudes really get under my skin.

Isn't that a little lame?

It’s not even that I’m personally bothered by them taking shots at unplanned kids. What really gets under my skin is this:
Look, I love my kid more than anything in this world. They’re incredible. Honestly, there isn't anyone else I care about more—I just absolutely adore them. Believe me when I say that. I really, really do.

I mean, really. Is this actually necessary?

All good.
Yeah.
That kind of gatekeeping really gets under my skin.
Look, just take a look at the facts. We actually planned for kids, whereas you guys just winged it. We’re clearly winning here.
Total waste of time. 😛

My original timeline was pretty flawed—looking back now—so this happened at the perfect moment, rather than when I had everything strictly mapped out.
But it wasn't like my husband and I went out that night specifically trying to conceive—that wasn't it.
It was more like... there was just this massive surge of sexual energy between us.

So, who gets to tell me that I don't love my husband or my child just because our timing shifted a little?

I think you're taking this way too personally—you're seeing conflict where there isn't any. In my experience, most kids just happen, and only a tiny fraction are actually planned with such specific intention. That's just how it seems to me.

As for who's imposing anything on you? I wouldn't know—probably nobody. You might just be a bit sensitive about this whole thing.

Just do what you always do—brush me off instead of actually paying attention to me. It’s pretty much what I do to you most of the time anyway. ☕
