Tickets go on sale in January 2011—so, just a few days from now. We should see the first lineup announcements hitting the press right around then, too.

I guess I was expecting some actual updates 😁
It’s already January 19th and there are still no tickets available. If they wait until the end of the month to drop them, I might just end up blowing all my cash on them instead 😁

I just saw that the AF is officially set to headline on June 22nd at some big music festival out in Colorado.

I am all for Interpol!! I actually caught them live in New York City back in November👍
Having Interpol perform in America would be absolutely incredible😁
Their show in New York City was phenomenal😉

I figured there was zero chance... but hey, that's one bit of good news to kick things off. 😁

Look, I'm not even a huge Coachella fan, but can't they just bring it to the 21st? 😁
When are we actually getting some info? I'm losing my mind here. ☕
Last year, Apple dropped the prices on January 18th, then the first lineup came out on the 29th...

So, you're telling me they're actually so incredible that they could just show up a day early in Los Angeles?
You're being pessimistic again. 😳

Man, you guys can totally forget about it. It’s obvious Lollapalooza has some kind of regional exclusivity deal going on. Besides, these artists aren't just gonna play day after day—they aren't robots, you know? They need to sleep, grab a drink, eat something... plus, they have to travel all the way from the States over to America.

Portishead is officially confirmed for Lollapalooza! It looks like someone's been spreading some majorly incorrect rumors about which festival they were actually heading to... 😠

What "regional" exclusivity are you even talking about?
Total nonsense.
"Have to travel from the US to Austria"???
Seriously, traveling from the States to Austria takes hours, getting to Vienna takes three days, and reaching Linz would take two months.
Geographically, Austria is way closer to the territory of Chicago than Novi Sad is, and both Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and Lollapalooza are physically and temporally distinct.
Bands go wherever they're booked, unless they decide they want a day off. AC/DC knows they're huge in America; they aren't going to turn down an invite if the terms are right.

Hell yeah,
IMO, the lineup is way better than last year😉

Just a little inside scoop for you guys—there’s some serious chatter that Kings of Leon might be hitting our shores this year. If that happens, you know I'll be there, and honestly, if you're a fan, you better get ready. There's even some whispers floating around about The Kooks potentially showing up too. 🤷

... or maybe not 🙄
Kings of Leon are playing London on June 20th and 22nd, so it makes zero sense for them to be hitting up the territory of Chicago on the 21st...
We've been waiting way too long for the big headliners to finally show up ;(
#1198 ·
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival could turn into a total joke this year if they actually bring out The Kooks... though I’m really hoping they don't—the headliners have actually been pretty spot on every year so far...

Seriously, traveling from the US to Austria takes hours, getting to Vienna takes three days, and reaching Linz would take two months.
Geographically speaking, Austria is way closer to the territory of Chicago than Novi Sad is, plus both Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and Lollapalooza are far away both spatially and timing-wise.
Every band goes wherever they get called, unless they decide they really need a day off. AC/DC knows they’re huge in America and they definitely won't turn down a gig if they're invited and the terms are right.
I have no clue who AC/DC are—I was talking about Arcade Fire. 😛
You honestly don't know what you're talking about.
First off, it doesn't matter if something is "territorially" close or far (I assume you meant "geographically," but whatever). The point is that a band the size of Arcade Fire doesn't need to chase gigs or play festivals two or three days in a row without a break.
Second, this idea that some band "knows they're popular in America" is just some little kid's fantasy. Bands don't worry about that stuff; their management does. And Arcade Fire's management knows they're popular everywhere (I mean, even you've heard of them), so at this stage, it's all just numbers—ticket sales, crowd sizes, and all that...
And finally, if a major festival like Lollapalooza announces Arcade Fire as a headliner, there's a pretty good chance (not saying it's impossible, but it's likely) that they signed an exclusive deal with them.
I'd love for reality to prove me wrong, but I doubt it will.
