What do you mean? They both just make absolute chaos...

Any idea when they’ll drop the headliners?
I’m really hoping we see Massive Attack or LCD Soundsystem on that lineup.

I mean, wouldn't it be incredible if we got Massive Attack and LCD Soundsystem?

Honestly, I heard through the grapevine from an insider that it’s actually going to be Massive Attack and Billy Idol.🤷

If those are the headliners, then we're officially screwed.
Maybe Massive Attack didn't play a show back in November, but as for the rest of them? There's really no point even getting into a debate about it.

Massive Attack might be a decent enough pick, even if they haven't toured since November, but as for the rest of this lineup? Honestly, there isn't even a point in debating them.

Well, maybe they aren't, but we'll just have to wait and see... 🙂

I mean, I’m leaning toward the idea that Massive Attack is actually our first headliner, and the rest of them—or whoever else might be taking center stage—probably won't even be announced until later on; it feels way too early for the usual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival announcement schedule, I guess.😉

I guess I'm thinking they might be saving The Chemical Brothers and Bad Religion for the grand finale

Man...

If only Bad Religion would actually show up.🙏

Personally, I’ve got this nagging feeling that Arcade Fire is going to land one of those big headliner spots.
They’ve just started dropping news about their upcoming festival circuit dates, so it wouldn't surprise me one bit. 😳

When are they actually gonna announce the full lineup?

I’m actually feeling pretty proud of myself for making the trek out to Coachella just to catch Placebo. It honestly feels a bit pathetic that they couldn't—or simply didn't want to—book Placebo while they were touring through the rest of the US, especially when they were practically right next door...
No disrespect intended toward the bands themselves, but this whole setup is just underwhelming—really, truly underwhelming. Compared to other major festivals in the region, this is just JADNOOO

No, it’s honestly pathetic how spoiled some people have become. There are so many concerts and festivals out there now... yet most people just complain constantly. You guys had Placebo perform in Los Angeles a couple of times, and since they aren't on the lineup this year, it's nothing but whining and endless bellyaching.

22.
Billy Idol
LCD Soundsystem
Rise Against

23.
Massive Attack
Flogging Molly
Pendulum
Broken social scene

...those are the dates straight from the artists' official sites. Only for The Flaming Lips and ... nothing specifies which day they're playing.

...look, that's all there is to it. Practically 99% of the time, Billy Idol and Massive Attack are the headliners for those days. They'll probably toss in a few more names to fill out the schedule—especially for day one—but when it comes to the headliners, I don't see any chance of a random scheduling error.🤷

P.S. maybe the festival organizers are going through a mid-life crisis too... but honestly, just a few years ago, something like this would have been pure science fiction for us. So, we can be relatively happy with this. :-) The main thing is getting that right festival vibe going and making sure the chaos stays fun.

No shade to the artists themselves, but this lineup is just... underwhelming. Compared to the big festivals around here, this is JADNOOO

Look, you can say whatever you want, but I wouldn't trade InMusic for Coachella or Lollapalooza... those huge festivals just cram in 900 bands or DJs just to fill up the schedule, which ends up being a lot of filler. Here, there’s actually something for everyone—I’ve definitely found my niche, and I know the upcoming announcements won't disappoint, especially if the rumors about Air are true... Personally, I don't really listen to Rise Against, but I guess it fits the punk vibe, and I missed Massive Attack—just like I see a lot of people did—so we'll get our turn eventually, and Pendulum is going to absolutely crush it without a doubt... I'm dying to see the Flogging Molly Pendulum Broken social scene because they're great, but LCD Soundsystem sounds interesting too, even if I haven't spun them much... Seriously guys, just broaden your musical horizons, it's not all just rock or electronic music... 🤷

edit: I didn't even include The Flaming Lips above, but it goes without saying... those guys are gods! I can't wait to see Wayne and his giant balloon 🙂

...you've got a point... stuffing the lineup with a bunch of high-profile DJs and random acts isn't really the vibe of this festival.. 👍

..when they played their first time in a small venue (Madison Square Garden), you could have practically driven a snowmobile through the crowd because there were so few people... maybe more than twice, and the last time (Lollapalooza), the stage and that tiny crowd barely covered half of the football field—and that was when Emperor and QTSA were playing... so yeah, that's all I've got to say about the band with the frontman who looks like he lives on the street... 😂😂😂

Unlike a lot of those washed-up legacy acts that only tour our neck of the woods when they're desperate, Placebo is actually at the top of their game right now.
And by the way, they have a new album out and their tour is sold out across several continents. Since they'll be touring Europe this summer, hitting Austin in July, and playing Udina in September, I think having such a big name is actually a huge win for the promoters.

The quality of the band speaks for itself—they've been around for 15 years, released six albums, and have played countless sold-out shows in venues much larger than Madison Square Garden. The fact that the crowd here gravitates toward artists like Tonio Cetinski, who sounds like he's dying a hundred times in every single song, or folks like Halid Beslic, U2, or Misos Kovač, really says a lot about the local musical taste...

Not to mention, other rock bands like Hindley or Lifehouse probably wouldn't even stand a chance here because they aren't either electronic enough or full of that specific kind of dramatic tone...

Don't sweat those Placebo fans who are crying about it; they actually see a bit more of the world compared to people living in other bitter parts of the globe...☕

Udina isn't Lollapalooza. Lollapalooza is a bit much for me, too. But unfortunately, high-quality rock festivals like the ones you find in Germany or England just don't exist here in America.
You hit the nail on the head.

I'm just saying that if I were the organizer, I'd try to pull in fans from neighboring countries by booking a band that's already touring through America at the time... it's not like we're isolated. Forgive me, but aside from Massive Attack—who hasn't been overplayed by every star on their way down?—there aren't many heavy hitters left on the festival circuit...

Feel free to check YouTube—it's a public medium, after all—to see how many people actually show up to their shows in Europe, especially during their most recent tour. Honestly, I’m not even counting the crowds for Toni Cetinski fans who pass out or those hardcore electronica freaks.

To me, they are absolutely the only group I follow. Their musical direction and evolution really resonate with me, and I find both the lyrics and the music to be just incredible...
