Good grief! I don't know how you people manage to read between the lines so easily. Where on earth did you read that, man?!

Let me lay out my actual perspective for you—not that it matters much, but since you're trying to pull my leg.
Nick Cave—anyone who has actually seen or heard him live knows that Nick Cave is NICK CAVE. You don't just skip over an artist like that. Plus, I’m a big fan of what Grinderman is doing.
As for Arcade Fire—to be honest, I’ve only recently started giving them more attention, and I find myself liking their music more and more. Though... I wouldn't say they have many massive hits; I tend to experience them more as atmospheric background music while I'm doing something else less demanding.
TVOTR—well... some of their tracks are killer, but for others, there isn't a critic alive who could convince me they aren't just mediocre filler.

(Now I'm just sitting here waiting for the avalanche of replies 😍😍😍)

Anyway, I was actually thinking of names like Bad Seeds, The Prodigy, Massive Attack, Morcheeba, Tricky, Moby, Kraftwerk, Franz Ferdinand, Pendulum, Stereo MC's, Iggy Pop, Alice in Chains, Morrissey, YYY, Editors, and plenty of others. My whole point was simply that everyone can find two or three artists worth buying a ticket for.

Not even the most hardcore Arcade Fire or Grinderman fans would cheer this. 🤷 Only three bands confirmed so far, the clock is ticking, and tickets have been on sale forever... does this look like a professionally organized festival to you? 🤷

It’s a shame I’m too lazy to dig up last year’s lineup, but this whole thing feels like a total joke.

Meanwhile, I’ve been watching Lollapalooza—which is several times larger—and they’ve already announced more decent acts than Coachella has. But hey, that’s just how things work around here.

Honestly, Lollapalooza isn't much of an upgrade over the New York Philharmonic series—the lineups overlap quite a bit, and there’s plenty of filler in both, at least if you ask me.
I'm mostly just bummed the Boston Symphony Orchestra didn't pull through for their set—they're actually playing this upcoming festival instead.

So, I was checking out the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival site, and man, 30 Seconds to Mars keeps popping up all over the wishlist section... there’s been all this chatter—even some hints from the band themselves—about wanting to make a trip out here to the States...
Looking at their official schedule, they've got June 21st and 23rd totally booked up, mostly hitting up big festivals...

But hey, if the organizers are actually paying attention to what people are putting on their wishlists, then I think it might be about time the USA =) shows up on that June 22nd slot!

Are you actually being serious right now??😕😕
Nine Inch Nails? Portishead? Arcade Fire? Grinderman? The Glitch Mob? Pulp? Beirut? I won't even get into all the DJs they have lined up, or else I'll be here all day. Are they somehow "dishonest" too?😂

1. If they don't show up, it was just fan speculation.
2. Honestly, the organizers couldn't care less about a wishlist or what fans think. You want proof? Just look at the lineups from previous years and how that official forum mysteriously vanished. 😍

Look, I was specifically talking about the headliners—the heavy hitters and the household names.😁

Out of the list you gave me, only Pulp and Portishead come close to the level of fame and scale of Arcade Fire. So, if we do the math, Lollapalooza—which pulls in roughly 6.6 times more people—actually announced just a tiny bit more big names than Coachella.

(I'm strictly talking about listener numbers here, not quality.)

Alice in Chains, Flaming Lips, Sonic Youth...

That alone is enough for me to say Coachella is way better than Lollapalooza, forever.

Honestly, I haven't seen a single lineup at Lollapalooza that actually made me want to show up.

Well, except maybe Manic Street Preachers, but I already caught them performing in Savannah last year.

That’s more than enough for me to decide the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is always going to be leagues better than Lollapalooza.

I mean, let's be real—Lollapalooza hasn't booked a single band yet that actually makes me want to show up.

Okay, they did have Manic Street Preachers, but I already saw them performing in Savannah just a year prior.

What about Slayer?
Suicidal Tendencies?
Meshuggah?

Magnetic Man at Lollapalooza... if he's playing, I can only hope we see him at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival too 🙂

Word on the street is Kings of Leon and The Prodigy are hitting the lineup;
Whatever, honestly. This whole year feels like one big indie washout. Total snooze fest.

I have a sneaking suspicion it might just be a false alarm (someone went to check it out), but honestly, who can ever really say for sure:

Kings of Leon are playing June 20th and 22nd in New York City

But honestly, it feels like just another mediocre year for indie music, nothing to write home about.

I hope those "insider tips" of yours turn out to be pure gold and actually come true for once.😁 😂 😲

If they bring out The Prodigy, then they absolutely HAVE to play no Good! 🙂

The Prodigy is fine, I guess, but they HAD to play no Good.

Wait, didn't they play that last couple of times when they were in town? I have this vague memory of them playing it at Madison Square Garden. 🤷
My only real wish is to hear them play Breathe/Wake Up live. 😍

My absolute dream would be to hear "Wake Me Up" live.😍

It's not the 90s anymore. Just kidding... I adore no Good, but honestly, I’d much rather sit through a full set by The Invaders. Though, if Liam is on stage, I suppose I could settle for some random keyboard smashing too. XD

They didn't actually play "no Good." They were in that "Their Law" phase where they mostly played remixes of the older stuff mixed with a few rare tracks from the new era. If I recall correctly, they put on an identical performance during the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. It would be absolutely legendary if they came through now, especially since their new material is just killer.

It seems physically impossible for them to land in New York City on the 21st just to fly right back to New York City. If they were continuing a tour through the rest of the States, I could see it happening... but this? It doesn't add up.
I honestly don't think even The Prodigy will show up.
If we're talking about a lineup featuring Arcade Fire + Grinderman + Kings of Leon + The Prodigy—does anyone really believe the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has a budget that massive? Sadly, I don't think so... it's just not realistic... or is it? (Man, if only it were true...)

I wasn't there myself, but a buddy told me they definitely didn't... though honestly, he might've just been sugarcoating it to spare my feelings! 😲

Well, I finally solved the mystery... turns out no Good was at Madison Square Garden only as a brief little interlude between two other acts.
