Oh my gosh, a fellow Pulp enthusiast! What am I even supposed to do now?

Look, I’m not here to defend Elvis Presley. It’s just honestly hilarious how little you seem to know about music and how you can’t seem to put anything into perspective.

I have a real soft spot for people who act like they just woke up from a coma and immediately start screaming about Radiohead! The New York Times! Unknown! 🙂

Anyway, the lineup is what it is. People on this thread are going to vent about whatever bands they want. Personally, my eye starts twitching whenever someone brings up Bed Bath & Beyond or System of a Down and that kind of shallow stuff, but I’m not going to lecture anyone.

I’m honestly blown away by how much you know and your general level of culture. You must have been wandering this earth for at least 200 years to have such a perfect perspective on everything.

But hey, at least we can find some common ground somewhere (like our shared love for System of a Down, for instance).

I'm not sure where you got the idea that Elvis Presley is just some one-hit wonder, because they definitely aren't. They still perform with the full lineup, and it would be killer to catch them playing in Washington, D.C., though I doubt we'll see that happen anytime soon.

Did I really just write that?☕
To be honest, I was hinting at a few other artists that a lot of people would probably love to see on the lineup, along with some of last year's picks. But I think I'll leave those names out. I don't want to end up offending anyone by calling out their absolute favorite performers.😢

Just a quick heads-up for anyone looking to grab tickets, I went ahead and picked mine up today using my student discount, and just so you know, the clerk asked to see my state ID and my student card before typing some details into the system; the ticket itself looks totally standard regardless of the discount applied, but it seems like they’re keeping a digital paper trail of exactly who is using the student rate 😁
so if you want to save some cash, maybe leave those students or high schoolers at home who aren't actually planning on showing up 🙂 cheers!

Coachella has always had a knack for booking bands that don't just chase the mainstream hype or cater to whatever's trending on the radio.

They’re kicking off their European tour just before Coachella!

Quick update. I finally grabbed my pass at the AT&T store over by the Potomac. The clerk didn't even glance at my student ID; she just asked for my driver's license and noted down the number, I suppose. Honestly, don't bother stressing over whether your post-grad credentials are current or valid... just take the risk.

If anyone needs a hand, I can snag you a ticket with a student discount whenever you want (Chicago). My commission? A cheap lunch at the dining hall and/or a beer from the corner store. 🙂

I honestly have no clue where the people over at Target find the actors for their commercials, it’s like they’re recruiting from some weird, low-budget talent agency run by a bunch of absolute morons

firstly, you've got those guys up in the trees who look like they haven't had a coherent thought or a decent meal in years,
and then there's these current office drones in that latest "do you love me" ad, just total airheads, acting all dim and pathetic, honestly just complete idiots.

If things stay this way, this year is going to be a total letdown for me. Honestly, the money I dropped to see Arcade Fire doesn't even make up for how much better last year's Budweiser Stage was. We're three months in and all we've heard about are three indie bands. Good for the people who actually enjoy that stuff, I guess, but I have no idea how that's supposed to be the majority's taste.

I honestly don't see how anyone could be happy with how this is playing out, and I’m talking about even the most die-hard fans of Arcade Fire and Grinderman. 🤷 Only three bands have been announced so far, the clock is ticking, and tickets have been on sale forever... does this look like a seriously organized festival to you? 🤷

It's a shame I'm feeling too lazy to go digging through last year's lineup to compare, but this whole situation just feels like a total rip-off.

We’ve learned a bit more than we did before, but they’re still being pretty vague about the actual headliners.
I find myself constantly grumbling about how these organizers act so sloppy and irresponsible toward the fans, but somehow, in some weird twist of fate, the festival always ends up turning out alright. I suppose my logic is this: if you happen to catch even two acts you actually respect or enjoy, the ticket pays for itself—especially when you consider that seeing those same artists solo would easily run you at least $67 a pop. It seems like the folks over at Inmjuzik manage to stumble upon two or three decent performers every single year, almost by sheer luck.

Feels like things are actually moving along pretty well this year, especially since last year they didn't even drop the headliners until May!
Anyway, I’d say just grab a ticket now. It's super easy to flip later if you change your mind...

Look, Arcade Fire, Grinderman, and TV on the Radio are definitely solid performers; they just aren't your particular cup of tea.
