Just saw this on the FOX news broadcast.

Headline: "A New Formula 1 Season Begins"
And right underneath? "Schumacher 7."

😉

Yeah... maybe after Ayrton Senna.

There is clearly some intense hostility and pure intolerance toward Schumi being directed here...☕

Please... it's not a grudge, it's just trolling.

If memory serves, the last time we saw a start like that was at Le Mans back in 1969. There's actually a clip where you can see Ickx casually strolling toward his car while everyone else is sprinting, and he ended up winning by about a second or so. It's quite a sight to watch him just calmly walking up to the cockpit.
On a separate note, that suggestion regarding limiting pit crews to just two mechanics is actually quite sound. I have toyed with similar ideas myself; it would significantly diminish the strategic advantage gained from frequent pit stops and limit the ability to over-engineer tactics. It should remain an exception reserved strictly for safety emergencies, or perhaps once per race at most.

Like I said, "allegedly." This whole thing was basically lifted straight from an auto racing site anyway, so it's not like it's some groundbreaking scoop from Yahoo.🤣

Isn't that just pure nonsense? Think about it logically. By the time they lift the car up, unscrew the wheel nuts, swap out the old rubber for the new set, tighten everything back down, and drop the car, it’s physically impossible to shave off more than two seconds. Even if they optimize the entry and exit from the pit lane, we might see a marginal improvement of maybe two seconds compared to previous seasons at most. Can we really expect much more than that?

It’s all just a circus, especially with how mechanics have to stand on one leg now.
If they touch the ground with the other foot, it's a ten-second penalty... ☕

I love Formula 1, but these constant rule changes are starting to get on my nerves.

Screw any sport where you have to overhaul half the rulebook every single season just to stop someone from being too dominant for more than a year.

Congrats to Sebastian Vettel.👍 Massa taking second place is interesting; I imagine things might get a little heated at the starting line tomorrow. It feels like spring has finally arrived now that the Grand Prix season is kicking off.😍
Schumacher finishing seventh—well, happy numbers to him.😁 I suppose this might be a pretty good season.

I would like to join in the greetings. I also believe this could be one of the better seasons in recent memory, though I doubt I will be able to keep up with all these strong new teams and drivers before we reach Monaco.

It was an impressive start. Sebastian Vettel seems to be signaling that he is done playing around and is ready to win again. Ferrari suggests they have moved past the slump following Schumacher's departure; the new lineup and everything surrounding the Prancing Horse seems to point toward a return to glory. As for McLaren, I suspect even their chassis innovations won't prevent them from having another mediocre season. And Schumacher... well, I wish all the best to those who are retiring. 😬

I think it will be a wonderful season, filled with plenty of upbeat music once the races conclude. 🙂

I am looking forward to the discussions, the passion, the arguments—even the bans on the F1 PDF forum!

Let the race begin! 👍
