Felipe Massa 🙏 just keeps talking about how Fernando Alonso already showed him who's boss 😛
Sebastian Vettel 🙏

This Renault F1 Team car is garbage; I guess Kubica is just going to be stuck driving a junker again.

You've got great taste!👍 I'm pulling for this group of four too!🙂 That veteran driver is a bit underwhelming right now, but you can never really tell with him. I think Sebastian Vettel is the most promising talent in Formula 1; his time is definitely coming. As for Massa and Kubica, they both totally deserve to win a world title at least once!

I wouldn't say McLaren is slower than Mercedes—sounds crazy after spending years trying to gap them—but just listen to the drivers. First, Lewis Hamilton mentions losing a full second in the middle sector and being "thrilled" with 4th Place. Then Jenson Button says the car was acting weird 🤷. Plus, there's a whole second between P1 and P4 😲 and half a second between P2 and P3

....

Look, last year Force India and Scuderia Toro Rosso were consistently topping these measurements and it didn't mean much. To me, it looks like McLaren completely botched the design. They have massive straight-line speed, but they're dead in the corners. If they don't make some massive fixes like they did last year, they're in trouble. Even Robert Kubica made a mistake in Qualifying 3 😉 so we might end up seeing Renault outpace them.

Michael Schumacher is clearly either totally out of his old prime or the Scuderia Ferrari car was just that dominant 😬. But even so, being this bad is ridiculous. Having Nico Rosberg beating him in qualifying is just silly 🤷.
Doesn't add up to me. In the same team, I don't see Rosberg having any real shot against someone like Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa, Lewis Hamilton, or Sebastian Vettel 🤷.

If Michael just tightens things up a bit, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button will be staring at his rear wing all day.

As far as I can tell, McLaren Racing completely botched their design work this time around; they’ve got incredible straight-line speed, but they're absolutely useless through the corners. If they don't find some drastic way to fix that like they did last season, they're in for a miserable year. Even Robert Kubica was struggling with mistakes in Qualifying 3😉, so honestly, there's a real chance the Renault F1 Team might actually outpace them.

It's glaringly obvious that Michael Schumacher is either totally out of form compared to his prime, or the Scuderia Ferrari car was just so overwhelmingly dominant😬 that even a subpar performance looks okay by comparison. But still, seeing Nico Rosberg beating him in qualifying? That just feels wrong to me.🤷
It doesn't sit right at all—in my book, if you drop Nico Rosberg into a lineup with guys like Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa, Lewis Hamilton, or Sebastian Vettel within the same team, he's barely standing a chance.🤷

If Michael Schumacher can just tighten things up a little bit, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button will be spending the whole race staring at the rear wing of his car.

Did you catch how much they're bouncing in the turns? It looks like a basketball hitting the pavement, haha. There's that new corner where everyone is dealing with turbulence, but man, McLaren Racing is taking it way harder than even Scuderia Toro Rosso.

It was obvious during the third practice session too. Jenson Button's car looked totally sketchy, like he couldn't even hold it steady through the turns.🤷

It doesn't sit right with me; if you put Rosberg against, say, Alonso, Felipe Massa, Lewis Hamilton, or Sebastian Vettel all within the same team, he's got slim to no chance.🤷

If Michael can just get himself back in shape, Hamilton and Jenson Button will be leaving him in the dust.

I get what you're saying, but I don't know what's going on with the car, though at least Lewis Hamilton finished in 4th Place during qualifying😉. Last year's car was basically rebuilt from a pile of junk until it was actually capable of winning races, whereas this year's version is just a bunch of quick fixes applied to the old design along with a ton of minor tweaks, so it seems unlikely they'll pull off a turnaround again...😢
Why does it feel wrong to you that Rosberg is beating Michael in qualifying during the first race after the break?🤷

Scuderia Ferrari 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Renault F1 Team😢

I’m honestly expecting Scuderia Ferrari to seize that top spot right after tomorrow's race and just hold onto it for the rest of the season. It's about time they showed some teeth.

At this rate, even HRT could manage to sponsor HRT😁

The Renault F1 Team really showed up today. Honestly, they performed way better than I had anticipated. If things keep trending this way, I wouldn't be surprised if Robert Kubica finds himself standing on the podium for a 3rd Place finish before the season wraps up. 🙏

Tomorrow’s gonna be absolute chaos at the lights—Alonso’s got the clean side of the grid, and let's be real, he's already itching to snatch that number one spot from the other guy at Scuderia Ferrari. Honestly, I find it hard to believe Massa is just going to hand it over without a fight
Plus, both of them are clearly obsessed with Vettel 🙂
I seriously can't wait ☕

I feel like these lap times are partially—not entirely, obviously—just a byproduct of how long this track actually is. I mean, we’re looking at nearly 2-minute laps here, while most other tracks average around 1:30. Because the laps are so long, any tiny gap between the cars gets magnified way more than usual. In my book, the actual spread between the top 10 drivers tomorrow during the race is gonna be much tighter than what people are predicting based on these qualifying results. That said, it looks to me like Scuderia Ferrari is sitting ahead of both McLaren Racing and Mercedes-AMG Petronas, and honestly, I haven't got a clue where Red Bull Racing stands. 🤷

stormybadger8 said:Look, last year we saw how being fast in those specific sessions didn't mean much when FI and Scuderia Toro Rosso were consistently clocking top times without much to show for it. From what I can tell, McLaren Racing really missed the mark with their design this time; they have incredible straight-line speed, but they struggle immensely through the corners. If they don't make some massive adjustments like they did last season, things aren't looking great for them. Even Robert Kubica (+0.5s) had a slip-up in Qualifying 3, so there's a real chance the Renault F1 Team might actually outpace them.😉

It’s pretty obvious that Michael Schumacher is either completely out of his old prime or the Scuderia Ferrari car was just so overwhelmingly dominant 😬 ,but even if you consider him off his game, seeing Nico Rosberg beating him in qualifying feels fundamentally wrong to me.🤷It just doesn't sit right; in my opinion, if you put Rosberg up against someone like Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa, Lewis Hamilton, or Sebastian Vettel within the same team, he’d have a hard time finding any real footing.🤷

If Michael can just find his rhythm again, both Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button will be stuck staring at his rear wing.

Easy there, friend, we've still got plenty of time. The main thing is whether Mercedes-AMG Petronas can stay competitive—which, honestly, might be the harder task here—and then we'll see if Michael Schumacher remains this far behind Nico Rosberg. The same logic applies to the dynamic between Massa and Alonso. We won't really know where everyone stands until we're about four or five races in; that's when the real picture starts to emerge. As Michael likes to say, it's a marathon, not a sprint, and the season is a long road ahead. For now, he seems perfectly content with how things are playing out.👍

I can't wait. ☕

Lewis Hamilton would probably blow both of them away before they even get settled. 😉
The straight is long, and McLaren Racing is way faster there. I wouldn't be surprised if things get messy at turn one—Lewis could make a serious move, and Mark Webber isn't exactly known for staying calm. 😬

For real though—Lewis goes full throttle, thinking he's got it in the bag, completely forgetting that McLaren Racing turns like they're driving through wet cement :P

The straights are massive here, and honestly, McLaren Racing is looking way too fast on those long stretches. I wouldn't be shocked if we see some absolute carnage at Turn 1, especially since Mark Webber always seems to be driving like he’s got nothing left to lose. 😬

I just want to see the cars actually become competitive for once, so we can finally witness a legitimate showdown between guys like Alonso, Hamilton, and Vettel. Honestly, if it turns out to be more of the same design nonsense that keeps certain teams stuck in the mud, I might just stop watching altogether.🙂

In my estimation, the most intriguing aspect here is this

It seems the only one who actually managed to improve their pace from Qualifying 2 to Qualifying 3 was Felipe Massa.

Meanwhile, Fernando Alonso is currently sitting on the fastest single lap of the day.

There’s a prevailing theory circulating that after the conclusion of Qualifying 2, every driver pivoted their setup
specifically to favor race conditions, given that once you hit Qualifying 3, you're essentially locked into your configuration and can't make those adjustments anymore.

If anyone out there happens to have some more concrete intel regarding this technicality, please do feel free to weigh in.

Sebastian Vettel - +0.3s
Felipe Massa - -0.1s
Fernando Alonso - +0.5s
Lewis Hamilton (+0.5s)
Nico Rosberg - +0.6s
Mark Webber - +0.9s
Michael Schumacher - +0.4s
Jenson Button - +0.5s
Robert Kubica (+0.5s)
Adrian Sutil - +1.4s

keep your heads up, guys!!!

I mean, we aren't about to start questioning our crew just because of one qualifying session, right?😠

Let's just see a few more races to prove they’ve actually been putting in the work and moving in the right direction; there's zero doubt in my mind that Ferrari will be sitting right at the top by the end of the season.😉

Give them a few races to prove they've been putting in the work and are actually heading in the right direction; I have zero doubt that McLaren will be fighting at the very top by the end of the season.😉

Hope so ...👍

But we're bleeding way too much time on the straights compared to how fast we are elsewhere... 🙂,we'll just have to see what happens tomorrow.

hollowhawk412 said:Here’s what I’m actually chewing on right now—it's the most interesting part

It looks like Felipe Massa was actually better in Q3 than he was back in Q2

And apparently, Fernando Alonso is sitting on the fastest lap right now

There's this theory floating around that everyone basically dialed in their Setup
specifically for the race after Q2... since word is you can't touch the Setup once Q3 hits

If anyone here actually knows the deal with the regs and has more info, please, hit me up with the details

http://www.formula1.com/live_timing/live_timing.html

Sebastian Vettel - +0.3 Massa
Massa - -0.1
Fernando Alonso - +0.5 Lewis
Lewis Hamilton - +0.5 Lewis
Nico Rosberg - +0.6
Mark Webber - +0.9 Schumi
Michael Schumacher - +0.4
Jenson Button - +0.5
Robert Kubica - +0.9
Adrian Sutil - +1.4

Wait, how on earth are you thinking Alonso has the best time?
What kind of time are you even looking at?

Felipe Massa is the only one actually improving from Q2 to Q3.

Fernando Alonso is sitting on the fastest lap right now.

There’s some talk that everyone adjusted their Setup after Q2
specifically for the race... apparently you can't touch the Setup after Q3.

If anyone knows more about this, let me know.

# The qualifying system will change to accommodate the extra cars: 7 cars will drop out of the first qualifying session, 7 from the second and as in 2009, 10 cars will shoot-out for pole in the third session. The third session will now be run in low-fuel configuration duo to The refuelling Ban.

# The top ten drivers to qualify for the race must start the race on the same set of tyres that they qualified with.
in The event that a tyre is damaged in qualifying, the FIA technical delegate will assess the extent of the damage and may allow the car to switch tyres to a set he deems to be safe.

I’m pretty happy with how Ferrari performed.
Maybe we'll actually be smarter tomorrow.
