Man, where on earth did you dig that up? It’s ancient, totally outdated, and the price tag is just plain ridiculous.

The GTX 260 averages about 5-6% better than the HD 5770, but now that the GTX 460 is finally out, I guess there isn't much point in picking one up anymore... it's kind of outdated 😛

Can it even run modern games though??

🤦

I mean, what else would you expect from a card at this price point? Of course it can handle it...

Maybe just try searching for a GTX 260 Review or an HD 5770 review on Google sometime. ☕

Why would you even consider the 260 at such a steep price point when the 460 delivers significantly better performance—and honestly, costs way less? 🤷

So, I’ve got a quick question for you guys

Here’s what I’m running right now:

CPU: Intel Core(TM)2 Duo E8400 @ 3.00GHz (2 CPUs), roughly 3.0GHz
Motherboard: ASUS ROG Maximus
PSU: Crosshair 650W
RAM: 4GB

Basically, my old 9800 gx2 just kicked the bucket—and not pretty, either—and since the warranty is long gone, I'm looking at picking up a gtx 460. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a quick performance comparison? Like, which one actually packs more punch, the 9800 gx2 or the gtx 460?

At higher resolutions, the GTX 460 should demonstrate a noticeable boost in speed, while at mid-range settings like 1680x1050, it ought to be slightly faster as well. Naturally, the GTX 460 runs quite cool, which allows for significant overclocking potential. I have never personally owned a 9800 gx2, but from what I have gathered while researching the GTX 460, many people suggest opting for the 460 over the 9800 gx2, if for any reason at all, it is because of the thermal performance... 😁
A few days ago, I picked up an MSI 460 gtx 1 and I am feeling very satisfied with the purchase. 😉

hmmm actually, I’ve been rethinking things since my local Best Buy doesn't even have the 460 in stock, so I was thinking maybe I should just grab a gtx 465 instead... does anyone actually know what the real difference is between those two and is it even worth the extra cash?

The gtx 465 doesn't actually offer any real speed advantages over the 460 in gaming, yet it carries a higher price tag. When you consider the value proposition, if you can't get your hands on a 460—ideally the 1GB version—you would honestly be better off picking up a Radeon, such as the 5850...

No way! Avoid the 465 at all costs—it’s a total dud. It actually performs slower than the 460, yet somehow manages to pull way more power and run much hotter in the process. Seriously, just steer clear of that one!

Hey guys, can the GTX460 actually handle games on max settings? Just wondering.

So, my graphics card just died on me. Now I'm looking at buying a new one, but I honestly have no clue which ones my motherboard actually supports, specifically regarding the ASUS P5PL2. If anyone knows, I could really use some help here.

It supports basically any modern graphics card. Your board has a PCI-E slot, after all. What kind of processor and power supply are you running?

I don't have my PC right in front of me at the moment. It’s running some Intel Pentium Dual Core processor, and I'm not entirely sure about the power supply, though I think it should be fine since I swapped it out maybe a year ago. Anyway, can you suggest something in the $200
range?

ATI 5670 versus an ATI 4850, perhaps an Nvidia 8800 gts 512, or even a GTS 250—all second-hand, of course...

Quick question here

between the GTX 460 and the HD 5850 (both 1 GB models), which one actually packs more punch?
also, does the HD 5850 tend to run pretty hot?

Check out this link for a comparison against a few other cards.

The performance is pretty much neck and neck, so I’d personally grab the Nvidia GTX 460 1GB since it’s cheaper.

Both the Nvidia GTX 460 and the AMD Radeon HD 5850 run just as hot.
